Following is the transcript of the interview of Senator Antonio Trillanes by Pinky Webb at Mornings at ANC last Friday.

PINKY WEBB: Senator Antonio Trillanes refuses to sign the Senate Committee Report on the Mamasapano. He joins us here in the studio to tell us why. And we will also talk to him about his plans for 2016. Senator, good morning!

SENATOR ANTONIO TRILLANES IV (SAFT): Good morning Pinky.

WEBB: Alright. The Mamasapano Report gathered 20 signatures from your fellow Senators with reservations, half of them with reservations. There are four who didn’t sign, yourself, Senate President Franklin Drilon, Senator Enrile and Senator Lito Lapid. You were quoted saying that the Senate report was lacking.

Update on Mrs. Domingo’s traumatic experience with policemen

Remember the incident related by JJ Domingo, a student of international relations in Japan last month when his mother, also based in Japan, came home to attend his sister’s graduation and to seek second opinion of Filipino doctors on her cancer?

To recall, Mrs. Domingo went a friend named Janet who lives in a slum area in Tandang Sora, Quezon City to collect money owed her because she needs money for her medication. She was accompanied by a friend, Maximo Gabriel.

JJ related, “Just when my mother and Gabriel were about to leave Janet’s place, two plain-clothed policemen- one called Allan and another named Mar Palic- approached them, accusing them of drug possession. My mother and her friends aghastly denied this, and before the two cops could search them they showed their bags to the police officers and emptied their pockets to show that there was nothing incriminating inside. Still, the cops ‘invited’ them for questioning.”

Legalizing the illegal

This is what is disturbing about the Supreme Court decision allowing Gloria Arroyo to make a midnight appointment to succeed Chief Justice Reynato Puno: Arroyo can do anything illegal to stay in power beyond June 2010 and the Supreme Court will give it a mantle of legality.

This is the scenario that we are looking: There will be partial failure of election. Only in the national level. That means no president, vice president and senators would be proclaimed by June 30, 2010.

Since the term of incumbent Senate President Juan Ponce Enrile will end on June 30, there will be no Senate President, who is third in the Constitutional order of succession. (There have been calls for Enrile to do the patriotic act of resigning as senate president so that someone whose term will end in 2013 could be elected senate president but he has refused.)
Meanwhile, there would be proclamation of winners in the local posts including members of the House of Representatives.

There have been reports of Gloria Arroyo subsidizing the campaign of a huge number of congressmen to make sure that she gets elected as speaker.

The speaker of the House is fourth in the line of succession.
