Why Arroyo frequents Dubai

Gloria Arroyo is becoming a frequent visitor of Dubai in recent months, especially since the financial crisis in the United States that hit hard her family’s favorite investment firms, Lehman Brothers and Merryl Lynch.

Serge Remonde’s spin is that Arroyo is on a two-day visit to Dubai to “ seek more job employment for the country’s expatriate workers.” What has become of her labor officials that taxpayers are subsidizing with billion of pesos in salaries and allowances?

After fleeing Thailand’s protesters, Malacañang said Arroyo went to Dubai accompanied by “ Press Secretary Serge Remonde, Trade and Industry Secretary Peter Favila, Energy Secretary Angelo Reyes, among other Cabinet members, and some congressmen.”

Norberto Gonzales’ “transition president”

Could this be what Shakespeare calls “method in madness”?

Following the admission of Mike Arroyo, son of Gloria and Mike Aroyo, that he met with former House Speaker Jose de Venecia for the passage of the charter change resolution introduced by Camarines Sur Luis Villafuerte, here comes National Security Adviser Norberto Gonzales Jr. and his bright idea of a “transition government.”

In a statement last week, Gonzales echoed the line of his principal, Gloria Arroyo, blaming “politics” for what we are now – “a nation of servants”, as told to our face by a Hongkong bastard.

Four out of ten Filipinos oppose Cha-Cha

by Vera Files

As presidential son and Pampanga representative Mikey Arroyo continues to push for charter change, Pulse Asia came out with its latest survey results showing that four out of ten Filipinos are not in favor of amending the Constitution now.

The survey conducted February 2-15, 2009 with 1,200 respondents showed a big plurality of Filipinos (42%) is against charter change now while a sizeable majority (64%) does not think it is appropriate to amend the 1987 Constitution at this time.

The survey showed that 33 percent favor amendments the constituion now, a decrease from the 39 percent in November 2006 and 40 percent in July 2006.

Gloria Arroyo forever

Signature gathering for Cha-Cha still on

When a friend told me that the release of convicted child rapist Romeo Jalosjos, former Zamboanga del Norte representative, was connected to the Charter change being pushed by Malacañang, I was skeptical about it because Gloria Arroyo’s political adviser has said that Cha-Cha is dead in the water and they are now focused on the 2010 elections.

Until I talked with former JDV (former House Speaker Jose de Venecia) yesterday to verify rumors that he had met with Mike Arroyo, husband of Gloria Arroyo, and that he would be restored to the speakership in exchange for his help to push for charter change.

JDV vehemently denied that he met with Mike Arroyo and that he had made any compromise deal with him.

Beware!

When Gloria Arroyo last week ordered Lakas and Kampi, her political parties to merge, her minions quickly added that charter change is dead in the water.

They tried to give the public the impression that they are preparing for the 2010 elections.

Beware! It’s all part of the genius of Gloria Arroyo in putting one over the Filipino people. She has gotten away with it several time since 2001; she has no reason to stop doing it this time.

Arroyo’s praetorian guards

The military’s seniority and merit systems are again being strained to protect the illegitimate presidency of Gloria Arroyo.

One of the military officials whose promotion is awaiting confirmation by the Commission on Appointments is Brig. Gen. John Martir.

Martir is one extremely lucky guy. Despite a pending case of malversation of funds and falsification of documents before the Ombudsman, the Board of Generals recommended him for promotion to two-star rank (major general). This is the Martir’ second promotion in six months. Last June he was confirmed as brigadier general despite his having gone on AWOL (absent without leave) for more than one year ( 477) days during the period July 1998 to January 2000.
