Sa dami-dami ng education-related na mga isyu, ang naisipan ng magaling na Education Secretary Jesli Lapus ay ang hindi na gagawing requirement and school uniform.

Ang pagkakaroon daw ng school uniform ay para narin daw pinababayaran ang public education.Ito daw ay ayon sa programa ng pamahalaan na bawasan ang gastusin ng mga magulang sa pagpaaral ng kanilang mga anak. “The move will enable more children to go to school.” Kapag makatipid raw ang mga magulang sa uniform, mas marami anak raw ang mapa-aral.

Chicago- Sen. Barack Obama clinched the Democratic presidential nomination Tuesday, becoming the first black candidate to lead a major party into a campaign for the White House, The Associated Press reported based on its tally of delegates.

Obama arranged a victory celebration at the site of this summer’s Republican National Convention — an in-your-face gesture to Sen. John McCain of Arizona, who would be his opponent in the race to become the nation’s 44th president.

Habang inaaliw tayo dito sa Manila ni GSIS Chairman Winston Garcia tungkol sa kanyang krusada laban sa Meralco, namimilipit ang lahat sa walang tigil na pagtaas ng gasolina at lahat na bilihin.

Sa report ng Inquirer, umaabot na sa P51 ang kilo ng bigas ng Mindanao. At jhindi lang presyo ng bigas ang tumataas. Pati na rin karne at ibang pagkain. Kung anim ang anak mo, paano mo mabubuhay ang mga yun sa minimum wage na P400 isang araw?

Ang drama ngayon ni Gloria Arroyo ay “legacy” daw- and ipamana niyang pangmatagalan sa sambayanang Pilipino.

Kaya nandiyan yung mga proposal ng kanyang mga alagad na dagdag raw sa sahod, ibaba raw ang kuryente, libreng text at kung ano-ano pang pakulo na sa isip niya ay makamasa. Akala naman niya naloloko niya ang taumbayan.

Ang gusto niyang palabasin ay talagang bababa na siya sa 2010 at hindi na niya ipagpipilit ang charter change. Gusto raw nila maala-ala siya ng taumbayan sa mga magandang bagay.

Gov’t is biggest gainer from high oil prices

We see that the International Monetary Fund is standing four-square behind the government’s refusal to scrap the value added tax on oil and, by extension, on power rates, and sticking to providing direct support to the poor in this time of surging prices.

Government’s refusal to scrap the VAT on oil is based on the simple fact that revenues continue to lag behind spending. It needs the money and it is loathe to lose any source of revenues. We have this suspicion the purported direct transfers to help the poor cope with rising prices of food and other necessities are but an after-the-fact rationalization.
