Arroyo did not categorically say she will step down on June 30, 2010

As expected, Gloria Arroyo enumerated a litany of lies about her so called accomplishments.

She did not say that she will be stepping down at the end of her term. She just said, “At the end of this speech, I will step down from this stage but not from the presidency, My term does not end until next year.”

She did not say that she will not do anything to extend her term. She just said, “Until then, I will fight for the ordinary Filipino to the very last day.”

She said, “I never declared Martial law.” She never denied the revelation of former Defense Secretary Avelino “Nonong” Cruz that she had planned to declare martial law in 2006.

She said “I never expressed my desire to extend myself beyond my term.”

Because she is tuso. She lets her minions do the manipulation to amend the Constitution so she can stay in power forever.

‘Change not possible under GMA’ – Trillanes

From the office of Sen. Trillanes:

antonio-trillanesSenator Antonio Trillanes IV supported the public clamor for an election in 2010 by saying change under the Gloria Macapagal-Arroyo is ‘not possible.’

“Any illusions of change are simply not possible under the administration of GMA,” he said in a published annual report.

According to the same report, Trillanes was ranked sixth in the Senate for his 285 total bills on several advocacies as poverty alleviation, national defense and security, affordable and accessible health care and education, and environmental protection in only his second year in office.

Curiouser and curiouser

by Lito Banayo

Ronnie Puno went to the US of A to attend to the wedding of his daughter, set in California’s beautiful Napa Valley. He has been in and out of the US of A, as this is where his family resides. Everyone and his mother in the DILG knows this, and they find it normal when their boss is out of the country. And he designates one or the other of his numerous undersecretaries, usually senior Usec Ed Soliman, as his officer-in-charge.

All of a sudden, three days after Ronnie had already landed in San Francisco International, Executive Secretary Eduardo Ermita issued an appointment for a DILG officer-in-charge. And it was not one of the usual undersecretaries, which is the usual practice anywhere in the bureaucracy. Ermita designate current DPWH Secretary Hermogenes Ebdane.

That’s not just it. Ermita even announced that Puno went to the US of A on medical leave. Either Ronnie is sick or he is undergoing a medical check-up, Malacañang explained. Still, curiously, why Ebdane?

Speculations on GMA visit to Colombia

Makati Mayor Jojo Binay, who is president of the United Opposition, is asking Gloria Arroyo to explain why she detoured to Cartagena, Colombia in between her visit to Japan and Brazil last weekend.

Binay has every right to ask because he said “Arroyo is traveling on taxpayers’ expense.”

Since the Department of Foreign Affairs said they arranged only the Japan and Brazil trips and were not told about the trip to Colombia until Friday (Arroyo went to Colombia Saturday and left for Brazil Monday) and Malacañang does not want to say anything about it, the secret visit has become fair game to speculations.

Gloria Arroyo and solons back to their junket

It was only during the trip to South Korea, scheduled at the time of the railroading of HR 1109, that Gloria Arroyo’s toadies (Palaka) didn’t enjoy their usual junket. Now, they have resumed the shameless looting of the Philippine government treasury.

Who’s afraid of the flu? 16 solons, kin join GMA trip

by Peter Tabingo

Sixteen members of the House of Representatives and their spouses, children, and staff members, are joining President Arroyo’s official trips this month to Japan and Brazil, both countries with confirmed cases of influenza A(H1N1).

Brazil has 52 confirmed cases while Japan has 549 as of June 12, according to the World Health Organization.

Arroyo is leaving tomorrow for the Japan visit which will last up to June 20. Her Brazil trip is from June 21 to 25.

Desperada

Lessons from the past

ANC viewers watching the interview of Metropolitan Trial Court Judge Jorge Emmanuel Lorredo by Willard Cheng aired live on the lunchtime news “Dateline” Wednesday last week were puzzled why it was abruptly cut.

It was the part when Lorredo was warning about the return of martial law. Lorredo, by the way, is the judge that stirred public attention with his unusual May 4 order for the arraignment of Rodolfo “Jun” Lozada on the perjury case filed by Mike Defensor, former presidential chief of staff.

I asked a friend close to Lorredo and she shared with me Lorredo’s ruminations about the topic that is being mentioned when talking about the direction of the Arroyo administration but is not quite taken seriously because people can’t seem to imagine the depth of her obsession to stay in power.

AWOL
