Dangal

Only the most callous person could have been spared from feeling some degree of outrage in the light of successive instances of blatant corruption that assaulted the nation’s collective psyche the last few months.

The ZTE NBN Senate Investigation, while far from being over, has already convinced even the most simple minded of individuals that the Filipino people would have been robbed of billions of pesos in kickbacks to shameless high ranking government officials had the would-be thieves not been stopped in their tracks.

Affirming their initial findings, US and Australian experts have ruled out the theory that a bomb caused the explosion at a mall in Makati City where 11 people were killed and scores were injured, Philippine National Police Chief Avelino Razon Jr. said Tuesday.

Razon said the reports by the Federal Bureau of Investigation and the Australian Federal Police contained findings that would point to the incident at Glorietta 2 last October 19 as an “accidental gas explosion.”

Trillanes willing to present witnesses on Makati mall blast

From ABS-CBN online:

Detained Sen. Antonio Trillanes IV said Thursday he is willing to present three witnesses to two of his colleagues who doubted his claims that the government was behind the Makati mall blast that killed 11 people and injured scores of others.

Trillanes urged Senate Majority Leader Francis Pangilinan and Sen. Gregorio “Gringo” Honasan to meet him so that he can present these witnesses to them.

He earlier said these witnesses could prove that National Security Adviser Norberto Gonzales and Armed Forces Chief of Staff Hermogenes Esperon Jr. masterminded last Friday’s deadly blast at Glorietta 2 mall in Makati City. He even said the witnesses were people connected to Gonzales.

The father of one of those killed in last Friday’s blast
at the Glorietta mall in Makati City, has blamed the government for the death of his son and said he was not hopeful that those responsible for the bombing would be brought to court.

When exposed, confuse!

What does one do when he knows he would be uncovered for a crime committed? Confuse everybody. That seems to be happening now. Who has the capability to do that?

Eight killed, 120 hurt in Makati mall blast

Update:Trillanes says Glorietta Bombing Malacanang Handiwork

“I believe the Glorietta 2 mall blast that killed eight and wounded hundred other persons is the handiwork of Malacanang Palace, particularly National Security Adviser Norberto Gonzales and AFP Chief of Staff Hermogenes Esperon.

“It very looks like a repeat of Oplan Greenbase, perpetrated by the administration in 2003 in Mindanao, where a series of bombings rocked the island, killing innocent people and destroying property. Those bombings remain unexplained to this day.

“This blast is most likely another tactic of the administration to divert public attention away from the controversies hounding GMA.

Gloria, resign!

Senators revive call on Gloria to resign
by JP Lopez and Jocelyn Montemayor

Senators yesterday renewed demands for President Arroyo to resign, saying her “misgovernance” is pushing the country to the brink of political upheaval.

“President Arroyo should resign and turn over the government to Vice President de Castro as caretaker until 2010,” Senate minority leader Aquilino Pimentel Jr. said.

Majority leader Francis Pangilinan said Arroyo’s resignation is the only constitutional solution to avert civil war.
