The colorful language of Mike and Mikey Arroyo

My friend Tita Valderama, congressional reporter of the Times Journal, was seated behind Mike Arroyo, Mikey Arroyo and their lawyer, Jesus Santos during yesterday’s hearing of the Ethics Committee on the motion by Rep. Alan Peter Cayetano to dismiss the expulsion case filed against him by Mike Arroyo in connection with an alleged account in a German bank.

Tita said Cayetano asked for ten days to explain to his constituents how his fighting the First Family has resulted in the withholding of funds for his projects.

This was what Tita witnessed:

Irked, Mike Arroyo muttered, “Putang …(Bitch)”. He immediately stopped himself and signaled to Mikey to say something.

Obviously father and son speak the same language because Mikey also blurted out, “Putang…” before replying to Cayetano, “That’s not the issue.”

Cayetano went on to say that the real issue is the cheating, lying and stealing of the Arroyos.

This time it was their lawyer, Jess Santos’, turn to show that he also spoke the language of the Arroyos. In a louder voice, Santos completed what seemed to be the Arroyo’s favorite expression: “Putang Ina (Son of a bitch).”

Here’s Daily Tribune’s account of the hearing
:

By Gerry Baldo

The resumption yesterday of the House ethics committee hearings on the motion filed by Taguig-Pateros Rep. Alan Peter Cayetano to dismiss the ex-pulsion case filed against him by First Gentleman Jose Miguel “Mike” Arroyo, the presidential brother-in-law and two presidential sons was marred by obscenities voiced out by the Arroyos against Cayetano’s camp, as in the end they ultimately won the “first round” of the case.

During the proceedings, the Arroyos hurled invectives at Cayetano and Laguna Rep. Justin Chipeco, whom the members of the First Family also slapped with a case before the House.

At some points during the House panel’s hearing of the “improper conduct, disorderly behavior and un-parliamentary conduct” case filed by Mike Arroyo, his brother, Negros Occidental Rep. Ignacio “Iggy” Arroyo, and sons Pampanga Rep. Juan Miguel “Mikey” Arroyo and Diosdado “Dato” Arroyo Jr. against Cayetano and Chipeco, the Arroyos were heard to have uttered “put…i..a mo!” (son of a b…ch!) and “gago!” (idiot!) while Cayetano’s group spoke.

In one instance, when Chipeco questioned which of the complaints should be voted on

podium and called him “bobo” (stupid).

Isabela Rep. Anthony Miranda, an ally of Iggy Arroyo, however, was quick to turn off the podium microphone before he could be heard loudly.

Despite the ruckus, the ethics committee headed by Bohol Rep. Roberto Cajes acted in favor of the Arroyos and struck down Cayetano’s argument that the committee had jurisdiction over his case.

The panel also echoed the Arroyos’ demand for Cayetano to prove his allegations that they maintain a secret bank account in Germany where they stash money illegally acquired in government.

Cayetano argued that the panel can not proceed in hearing the cases filed by the Arroyos because the libel charges the Arroyos have filed against him are still pending before a judicial body.

He further said he has similar cases filed against him by the Integrated Bar of the Philippines before the Quezon City prosecutor’s office, where he is facing 32 counts of libel and disqualification.

He moreover said there was no need for the committee to expel him because he was planning to step down as congressman to be able to devote himself to proving his charges against the Arroyos.

Cayetano also challenged the Arroyos to issue a waiver on the alleged bank account they have with the Hypo Vereinsbank in Germany and on a number of alleged questionable assets they own to prove that they do not really own them.

He as well asked the committee to give him five days to provide evidence on his charges against the Arroyos and to be allowed to make a power point presentation before the panel.

For his part, the First Gentleman, through his counsel, said he will not testify before the committee but will submit at least 20 documentary pieces of evidence to support his case against Cayetano.

Iggy Arroyo had filed the same case against Cayetano for repeatedly calling for a revival of the congressional investigations into the controversial Jose Pidal account in the Bank of the Philippine Islands branch on Perea Street in Makati City.

Iggy Arroyo had maintained that the bank’s officials have denied the existence of a Pidal account three years ago before a Senate probe into the issue.

The presidential brother-in-law said in a Senate hearing in 2003, he admitted to being the owner of a Jose Pidal account only in Union Bank, and no other banks.

The money deposited in that account were personal funds and as a private citizen at the time he did not have to publicly account for it, he had stressed.

He claimed that the Anti-Money Laundering Law came into effect in September 2001 and the Jose Pidal account was closed in August of that year and therefore he did not commit any crime.

  1. Ellen,

I made a comment on this in another loop. I’m tempted to throw back the expletives on this clan of bastos, but I realized that my husband is right. I should not put down myself for these crooks. Nakakahiya! But it only shows the real origin of these people—galing sa basurahan!!!

  2. On the other hand, glad to hear of the mass walkout at the DND. Time for these supposedly men of honor to show their disgust for the bogus president! Other men of honor in other departments should also start now to pack up their things. There should be a mass walkout of Filipinos if the Pidal puppies and puppets in the Philippine Tongress start pushing for the ChaCha on order of the bogus president, who has no right to decide for, of, and by herself and her husband the fate of the Philippine nation. They have no right! Baka binibenta na nila ang Pilipinas.

The Senators should not allow this crook to get rid of them. They should now check on what she has actually been doing overseas, especially her deals with Beijing.

    PATALSIKIN NA, NOW NA!

  3. chi chi

It’s they, the Arroyos, who claimed that they are descendants of St. Therese d’ Avila. Why curse?

May kasabihan, ANG PIKON, TALO!

It’s about time to change Miguel’s ancestral family name Pidal into Miguel Arroyo y Putang Ina. Anyway, Gloria Arroyo’s Bastusan republic is gone to the dogs.

  5. norpil norpil

do the arroyo’s really claim they are descendants of sta teresa from avila?si sta teresa na hindi makatayo at makalakad pero sa kadadasal at panalangin ay nakalakad din at sa pasasalamat niya ay ibinuhos ang buong buhay niya sa kabutihan at pagtuturo sa paaralang itinayo niya sa pangalan ng poong maykapal.ok siguro kung ang sinabi nila ay descendants sila ng san miguel markang demonyo.

Pagkayayabang ng mga baboy na ito. Magpaka-lalaki kayo! Lalaking baboy pala.

    -Tongue in, anew!

Hahahah, your funny bayonic! Ma-iingles pero hindi matunog ang dating!

  13. Ateneans should disown the Arroyos. Ateneo takes pride in the communication skills of their students. They even cultivate the Ateneo accent. It seems they failed in Mike Arroyo. Did Mikey also go to Ateneo?

    Buti lang public school ako.

as Alanis M. would sing …. isn’t it ironic? don’t you think ?

for those words to be uttered during the hearing of the ETHICS committee ?

i certainly hope that the incident was caught on tape …

As any pig breeder can testify, inbreeding of pigs will give all sorts of problems!

  16. The Arroyos just showed the people who the better man is. Alan Peter might have struck the “right” chord which caught the Pidal’s off guard. The truth really hurts. And the piglets in the majority just show us how immoral they are. I hope the media would report the hearings in its entirety so we can count how many times the Pidals blew their top and used the P phrase. The Ethics Committee should change its name to the Unethical Committee. They should have sent out the Pidals for using such language in the “hallowed” halls of congress. The Pidals had their lawyers with them, the majority should not be lawyering for these swine in people’s clothing.

What transpired yesterday in the House Ethics Committee hearing revealed the kind of breeding of the Arroyo clan!

    Apologize for being off topic:
This month alone; November 2006 I’ve collated 7 extra judicial murders. Something needs to be done to stop this lawlessness.

  22. TongueT:

Tonguena, tonguena, tonguena talaga! 😡

  23. Ellen: “Buti lang public school ako.”

Ellen, public school or private school, I don’t see the difference.

My eldest sister and I are products of public schools, but our younger siblings were sent to private schools, both protestant and Catholic. Iyong mga nanggaling sa Catholic school, iyong ang mga may toyo sa ulo—keeping with the Joneses ang dating.

Proud to be a product of public schools. I actually wonder why in the Philippines, public schools should have been better as in other more progressive societies because they have the money from the government. Hindi kailangan mamalimos ng donation from wealthy donors like those parents of those kids going to private schools na pataasan ng donation para makilala ng mga teacher at school administration ang mga anak! Labas tuloy, mga bastos gaya ni Pidal!

Over in England for instance, parents take pride sending their children to public schools dahil nandoon ang mga creme of the crop!

I’m for better education for Filipinos. Pwe! 😡

  24. I don’t believe that these crooks have been descended from some saint, etc. Never heard of it. Imbento lahat. Buti na lang na-preserve iyong mga documents re the jueteng activities of the Pidals that actually was how they got their wealth and not because of some fairy tales of some reward from the King of Spain. Never heard!

Yuck! Kadiri talaga! Baboy!!!

I told my friends at church about the PIG, nagulat sila. PIG talaga!
How prophetic! Baka ang labas ng mga iyan malunod sa ilog Pasig the way those disembodied spirits died after entering the bodies of a herd of pigs. Nagtatalon sila sa dagat at nalunod! Parang isinumpa nila ang mga kaluluwa nila! Diyos mahabagin! Amen!

Public education; many people do not realize that the parents of Margaret Thatcher Former Prime Minister of UK owned a simple street corner store which would compare to a large sara sara store. She came from a very humble background starting her education in a public (government) school. As title means everything in the Philippines were the only educational title used with a name in the UK is Dr and only when it is a medical doctorate.

Iyon namang foster Dad ko DPhil in Economics from Oxford, but he never introduced himself with a Dr. When he introduced himself, he simply said, “Call me Graham (his first name)!”

Si Maggie Thatcher, you bet, of humble beginning but she, too, has bearing.

    FRONTLINE

    Ninez Cacho-Olivares

    11/29/2006

In his last press conference as Defense chief, Avelino “Nonong” Cruz Jr. kept bringing up the rule of law, saying for instance, that he could not disclose that which was discussed with Gloria, as this falls under executive privilege, stressing that is the rule of law.

He also spoke of his “edifying” six years in government where he witnessed, in the front seat, history unfolding; seeing for himself how political conflict divides the nation; how needless bickerings distract from things that truly matter and how the country’s institutions have been needlessly put to a test, time and again.

But wasn’t he an integral part of the very mob that destroyed the rule of law in this country and even worked actively to destroy the very institutions he now says have been needlessly put to a test?

As a lawyer, Cruz certainly knew that there was no legal and constitutional basis to oust a legitimately elected president who, moreover, was not convicted by impeachment, and had not resigned.

Cruz, having served as Defense chief, certainly knows that it is unconstitutional for a military leadership to invoke the name of the Armed Forces of the Philippines (AFP) and withdraw support from a constitutional President and Commander-in-Chief.

Cruz is certainly not a stupid man. Besides, it does not take brains to know that it was due to the Edsa II mob rule that today’s institutions have become so prostituted and why the AFP and the Philippine National Police have become much too political for the national good.

Even during the time of Ferdinand Marcos, he had not tasked the military to cheat for him in the three elections he ordered held. True, some institutions were prostituted, but not to the extent that they are today, under Gloria.

As for poll cheating, even Cruz and his group know that this was resorted to during the 2001 congressional elections. He and his law firm were involved in the administration’s poll fraud for the Senate slate. More to the point, he, being in Gloria’s close-in group, was in the know about the cheating operations in 2004, and neither he nor the frigging elite groups in this country cared a whit about Gloria’s cheating ways. For them, it was a matter of preferring that Gloria cheats, and cheats big, as long as the opposition standard- bearer Fernando Poe Jr., does not become the president, since they don’t want another actor as president.

Too late it seems, that they have realized the big mistake they made in embracing the rule of force by insisting on ousting a constitutional President in Joseph Estrada and worse, making it appear as though Gloria’s ascent to the presidency was legal and constitutional.

Today, the military remains restive, with some officers making their sentiments known and attempting to withdraw support from Gloria, as the treacherous Angie Reyes did. Yet they are now being charged with mutiny and coup d’etat and have been detained in military jails, even when it was the same move made by the Reyes military which was even deemed constitutional by the Davide Court. At the same time, those who went against the rule of law have been richly rewarded, even the military generals who were pointed to as being part of the cheating operations.

This creates confusion within the military rank and file, as well as the junior officers, since they now believe that going against the Constitution, engaging in blatant political partisanship are the “right” paths to be taken.

Given this mindset, seeing that the rule of force triumphs over the rule of law, how then can these institutions ever be expected to be strengthened and de-prostituted,when these same institutions were part of the country and the nation’s destruction and continue to cover up for their sins against the people and the law?

It is not enough for anyone who joined the mob that the rule of law must be upheld. The beginning of change comes about only after their admissions that they had gravely erred against the Filipino people.

ateneo standing down on the arroyo/garci/cheating issue may be partly due to contributions and/or donations the arroyo family has given the formerly padre faura located jesuit school.

aside: how ironic that a current lasallian brother opted to turn to lasalle despite being jesuit “born and bred”. he apparently was so disappointed with those who taught him all throughout his life that he sought a better alternative which he found with the brothers of lasalle. lasalle is very lucky he chose the way he did; its art collection grew tenfold because of it.

  65. Chabeli Chabeli

According to the report of The Daily Tribune today, “the Martial Law in February tale, “never considered“” was Malacanan’s response through Ed Ermita regarding “the revelation of outgoing Defense Secretary Avelino Cruz Jr. that former US Defense Secretary Donald Rumsfeld called him (Cruz) last February to relay the concerns of the US government on the alleged martial law plan of the Arroyo administration.”

Ed Ermita further says that he does not “…know where that report came from. There’s no basis for that. I think where I am posted I should know and I suppose people may have picked it up from others but I don’t see how those things could have happened…. Of course there were destabilization moves but there were no actual troop movements, there was no fighting, in other words, while there was an attempt, it was not a reason for the President to even think of calling for or declaring martial law,’ the Arroyo aide said.”

SO WHY IS ESPERON THEN FILING A REBELLION CASE AGAINST 49 SOLIDERS IN CONNECTION TO A COUP PLOT LAST FEBRUARY????? EVEN ED ERMITA SAYS SO WHEN HE SAID THAT “there were no actual troop movements, there was no fighting…”?????????
HOW CAN YOU CONSIDER THEN THIS AN ATTEMPTED COUP, AS ESPERON PUT IT???????

  66. Chaqbeli,

Here was my own take that I posted in my, Ellen’s blog and in other blogs immediately following Gloria’s Emergency Rule and concerned the purported attempted coup d’état in February. (Lito Banayo published my opinion that given the “allegations” by Gloria and her government, Esperon included I didn’t believe one bit that there was an attempted coup d’état – I would be prepared to accept that there was an ATTEMPTED MUTINY but foiled attempt which, by military law boils down to INSUBORDINATION, if charges were to be levied against the military officers facing GCM today.)

    ********

I am a bit puzzled here. The State of Emergency apparently was declared on the basis of a foiled coup d’état.

If that’s the case, then Palace spin that they foiled a coup d’état was preposterous and technically wrong!

By tradition, a coup d’état is the violent overthrow of the government launched in stealth fashion by the military but which could be aided and abetted by civilian components of the Republic. To say that they foiled a coup d’etat means that a VIOLENT overthrow had been initiated by the military or a component of the military.

Contrary to Palace spin and innuendoes, BGen Danilo Lim, when he approached CSAFP Senga to persuade him to withdraw his support (if at all true) was technically espousing mutiny and not a coup d’état in the same manner when Gloria and her husband had persuaded Gen Angie Reyes to commit mutiny by withdrawing their support for the Erap government.

That the mutiny might have later on generated into a coup d’état is another matter but at the time Lim was arrested, technically, the act being committed by Lim was inciting to mutiny (again if true at all) and not a coup d’état.

Palace spin therefor that they FOILED A COUP D’ETAT is absolute nonsense! There was no physical evidence that Lim had launched a violent assault on Gloria’s government so, how could they foil something that had not even started?

That there may be grounds to believe that a coup d’état might have been launched by Lim remains to be seen – Gloria’s government and her spin masters have to prove that Lim had sequestered military logistics and ammos for the purpose of a violent overthrow. Until then, the only real case here is that Gloria overreacted because a general had tried to incite his superior to commit mutiny.

Incidentally, two of the most well-known proponents of a coup d’état was Gloria and her husband when they encouraged and gave firm backing to a military general to launch the violent overthrow of the Erap government.

It was Gloria’s favorite general BGen Espinoza, former Marines chief and the supplier of the infamous Marines’ helmets (that got Admiral Wong, former FOIC later into trouble with the Marines for denouncing the Espinoza helmets) who would have led a violent coup d’état against Erap had Angie Reyes not been able to persuade Major Service Commaders to agree to withdraw support.

    MALAYA
    by Lito Banayo
    March 30, 2006

History, as faithful reader Anna of Bruxelles remind us, “has shown that whenever a commander-in-chief “toyed” with the military tenet of armed strength and wielded it against the citizenry, or against the military’s brothers-in-arms, the resulting cracks it provokes within swelled into divisions, and the divisions created a revolution.”

Gloria’s reign is uncannily similar to the “reign of terror” under Robespierre in the aftermath of the French Revolution. Robespierre used and wielded the military like his own sword, against his political enemies. (Read that as Proclamation 1017 and CPR.) He used the Republic’s coffers as if these were his own piggy bank. (Read that as Joc-Joc Bolante’s fertilizer scam in aid of “her” election, or Ronnie Puno’s barangay assemblies, among others). He fought with and antagonized the People’s Assembly (parliament), just as she now uses EO 464 to muzzle Congress.

When key members of the parliament defied him, and the Republican Guards mutinied, Robespierre sent Napoleon to quell the mutiny, resulting in one of the bloodiest military versus military battles. Napoleon prevailed, but in the end, Robespierre lost his head at the Place de la Concorde – guillotined.

That started Napoleon’s ascent to political power, first as leader of a military-civilian junta, and later, as self-crowned Emperor of France.

What will happen in the Philippine setting is anybody’s guess. Suffice it to say that neither local nor international observers of our political scene are assured that everything’s already hunky-dory. It’s just that some guys with strong noses for instant profit are able to make hay in the stock market, while there’s still some eerie stalemate on the political front.

  68. On the case of mutiny against Brig Gen Lim, here’s what I posted on March 18, 2006:

    *****

Court Martial recommended for Brig Gen D Lim, Philippine Army
I heard that Philippine Army Commanding General LtGen Esperon has already recommended a court martial trial for BGen Danny Lim, one good officer if you ask me but unfortunately a bit “militically” overzealous. (I know him quite well. He has the best West Point record of all PMA graduates sent to West Point. He actually has an outstanding military record through and through.)

Based on what we’ve heard and read so far (and based also on many accusatory declarations made by both GMA and military spokesman against Danny Lim in public), the act committed by BGen Lim could only be qualified as an act of insubordination. Besides, HE DID NOT LEAVE MILITARY HQS to make good his alleged MUTINY or physically marched out of Senga’s office to do his mutiny trick.

Caveat: Technically, if BGen Lim refuses to apologize to his direct superior and to his Commander In Chief, it is appropriate that he should be tried by a Court Martial and depending on other supporting charges against him, court martial may conclude that he should be immediately dishonorably discharged and forfeit all military pensions.

Unless there are strong physical evidences to support government/AFP case against him, BGen Lim cannot be charged with MUTINY based on Articles of War. Act of MUTINY involves THREE or more officers who must be shown that they had invoked an implicit THREAT of violence against a superior officer, Geneneral Senga in this case.

A mutiny CANNOT be committed by only ONE person. To make the charge of mutiny stick, it is important to establish the physical content and the word exchange during the “meeting” between Senga and Lim. Was Lim accompanied by equally threatening officers or men? What exactly did he say to Senga? Pretty clear cut actually.

As you know, the case of mutiny, as in other cases of purely military offences, can be pretty clear cut under Articles of War. There is NO such military crime as “INTENT TO INCITE SOMEONE TO COMMIT MUTINY”. It’s technically Senga’s command responsibility as the highest military officer in the AFP to stop all such “intent” before the “incitement” takes place. (If it were true that Lim was in the act of mutinying during his interview with Senga, the latter should have had him arrested on the spot manus militaris but Senga did not do anything of the sort save to ask him to go back to his quarters!)

A UK military officer who presided over a few court martials during his military career and knows this inside out spoke to me about. A lot of our military friends too at NATO have commented on the Philippine military “coup d’état” issue, plot or conspiracy including mutiny and based on raw information, they don’t believe Lim can be technically accused of MUTINY but is guilty of an act of INSUBORDINATION particularly if he refuses to apologize to his immediate military superior and to his commander in chief.

In Britain where capital punishment is now outlawed, UK military law has NOT done away with the DEATH penalty for MUTINEERS. Same is true in the French military. If Lim is found guilty of MUTINY, technically under the Articles of War, he should be meted the DEATH penalty.

On Philippine Army’s Lt General Esperon’s or his subaltern’s declaration that BGeneral Lim will be charged with FAILING TO STOP MUTINY – that’s a bit silly. They must first prove that a mutiny was committed by an Army division, brigade, battalion or a Scout Ranger unit UNDER Lim’s direct command. I DON’T BELIEVE there was mutiny committed by any SCOUT RANGERS otherwise we would have seen them and heard them given the AFP hierarchy’s or some GMA spokesman’s penchant for publicly declaring (and to media) every unusual bit of military movement or restiveness.

If I were Lim, I would call ex CSAFP/DND Chief Angie Reyes to testify on the aspects of MUTINY and coup d’état and if his lawyer were extremely bold, he could ask Sen Biazon, retired LtGen and now ambassador Volt Gazmin, and even FVR to come to the witness stand !

Seriously, Lim’ lawyer must have the courage to call former CSAFP Chief/DND Secretary Angie Reyes to the stand; he should find something in military jurisprudence (worldwide if necessary) to force Reyes to get on that witness stand because I suspect Reyes will basically refuse but he will prove a “good” element for Lim’s defence.

  69. Chabeli,

Here’s another opinion of mine that Lito Banayo published in his column (after I posted it in Ellen’s blog):

    Coup or mutiny?
    By Lito Banayo
‘They were amused and couldn’t believe that the elements presented by the AFP constituted a coup or a conspiracy…’
    http://www.malaya.com.ph/mar07/edbanayo.htm

    March 07, 2006
    Malaya

Malaya reader Anna de Brux, a Filipina who lives in Belgium, raises a very basic issue: Was it a coup d’etat, or mutiny, or neither, that transpired in the last few days of February?

“Based on what happened prior and during the state of emergency, there was no coup d’etat conspiracy, no attempt to launch a coup, no foiled coup, no coup d’etat at all committed by any AFP component or a group of its officers and men”, she writes.

“I have just viewed the AFP powerpoint presentation and found that it has no meat. I printed a hard copy and presented it to my military friends from NATO for review – they were amused and couldn’t believe that the elements presented by the AFP constituted a coup or a conspiracy to violently overthrow government.

“Based on the AFP presentation, there was a political discussion between two groups of people, and which could be easily construed as a conspiracy of sorts, but it stops there. The elements presented are hardly evidences of a coup conspiracy, let alone a coup d’etat attempt…

“Until today, we have not seen any evidence of a coup d’etat conspiracy. Where are the lists of names of the military coup leaders and members? Where are the plans of strategic sites to be captured or taken over? Where is the plan for troop movement? Where are the plans for logistics support, e.g., weapons and ammunitions, etc?

“My assessment is simple: Prior to the declaration of a state of emergency, there wasn’t remotely an attempt to commit a coup d’etat because the elements which constitute one were not present.

“Coup d’etat is a sudden and violent overthrow of government. The element of speed or suddenness is a requisite, as with the element of violence. Likewise the movement of armed troops, with or without the backing of civilian elements.

“The military has very basic and clear-cut rules: Obey and follow the chain of command. What actually happened was that instead of preventing a breach in the military chain of command, the state of emergency triggered a chain of errors.

“Based on what we have read, the act of BGen Danilo Lim could only qualify as an act of insubordination. He cannot be charged for mutiny because the act of mutiny involves three or more military men or women.

“The act committed by Col. Ariel Querubin (and his men) qualified as an act of mutiny because he tried to lead a group of Marines towards Edsa against the expressed orders of his commandant, MGen Miranda (or so Miranda says).”

But certainly not a coup d’etat, Anna avers…

    *******

In other words, all these Esperon charge fabrications are just that! It is he who should be in the docks for aiding and abetting Gloria with the commission of a national crime to defraud voters of their rights during the elections!

  70. Furthermore, for rebellion charges to stick, the accusers have to have physical evidence that there was an armed component in the attack threat (to rebel)…

  71. What I’ve stated up there in my various posts confirm why the pre-trial investigation by JAGO came to the conclusion that NO charges of coup d’étate attempted, launched, botched, foiled, etc. or even mutiny could technically be filed against the poor officers.

The AFP and Gloria are raising the bastusan stakes to (an owymoron really) the worst babuyan lynching of our laws, military and civilian!

My parents never used such words to us because they spoke Ilocano and very seldom used expletives in Tagalog.

I actually avoided using it except when I am provoked and there is no more appropriate word to use to express real anger.

When I came to Japan, I also decided not to learn the bad words people here use. “Bakayaro” that the Filipinos make a mistake to pronounce in fact comes close to the p—-inamo. Such words are not allowed to be used in our house.

My husband, his parents and siblings do make a habit of saying bad words at home, because they want to show that they are dignified and will not lower their category to the level of the criminals. Over here, in fact, you know a person by the kind of words he uses just like in UK for example where the people are distinguished between the working class and the elite by their language and accent.

Unfortunately, in the Philippines, there is no such distinction, thus, making me wonder if there ever really was a royal blood who settled in the Philippines and not just the common freemen who escaped their old world for a better place to turn a new life as in the case of many OFWs of today who have gone overseas in search of fortune.

Now, since we’re talking of people who must have plastered shits on their faces like those cow’s shits with which Africans and Indians build their home (parang semento din pag natuyo mabaho nga lang), there is nothing wrong, I think, if we all chorused their expletives back at the Pidals, et al.

OK? So, one, two, three: Tonguenanew!!! PATALSIKIN NA, NOW NA! :-X

    Hi, Anna de Brux.
What excellent comments and analysis!!! Thanks for the info.

In your comments regarding the “the case of mutiny against Brig Gen Lim” which you posted on March 18, 2006, you said that “Contrary to Palace spin and innuendoes, BGen Danilo Lim, when he approached CSAFP Senga to persuade him to withdraw his support (if at all true) was technically espousing mutiny and not a coup d’état in the same manner when Gloria and her husband had persuaded Gen Angie Reyes to commit mutiny by withdrawing their support for the Erap government.”

That was the UNFAIRNESS of it all! I remember siRAULo Gonzalez saying that if a coup is successful, then it is legal. If not, then it is mutiny! This attitude is EXACTLY THE INGREDIENT of why MAJORITY HATE (not disline, but H A T E ) GLORIA AND HER LEGIONS!!
    *********************************
Your other comments that came out in Lito Banayo’s column on 30 March 2006, it says that “History, as faithful reader Anna of Bruxelles remind us, “has shown that whenever a commander-in-chief “toyed” with the military tenet of armed strength and wielded it against the citizenry, or against the military’s brothers-in-arms, the resulting cracks it provokes within swelled into divisions, and the divisions created a revolution.”

This is EXACTLY what I was “worried” about! GLORIA pretty much destroyed the military, not to mention the other institutions that she, pardon the french, PROSTITUTED!
    *********************************
In the final anaylis, the one who should be tried for an ATTEMTPED COUP is GLORIA AND THE PIG–right after EDSA 2, they PROUDLY blabbed how they LITERALLY GRABBED POWER FROM ERAP! You hit the nail on the head when you said that, “Incidentally, two of the most well-known proponents of a coup d’état was Gloria and her husband when they encouraged and gave firm backing to a military general to launch the violent overthrow of the Erap government.”

Simply put, GLORIA AND MIKE ARROYO DESTROYED WHATEVER THERE WAS LEFT OF BEING A TRUE FILIPINO. THESE TWO @!#@^%& DESERVE TO ROT IN HELL!
