An example is that stupid Pasay Judge who issued the arrest order for Senator Jinggoy knowing a Senator could not be arrested while the Senate was in session. Remember when the Iranians attacked the US Embassy and held hostage many Americans inside? The US was on her knees for a while. Why can’t some brave souls do the same in Manila and attack the US Embassy? They can demand that the US convince or order this Gloria to step down in exchange for those Americans held hostage. That would justify America’s excuse for dumping GMA. Given the lowest popularity of this Gloria and the never-ending corruption/scandals being committed by her family and government, the US can give her up and still come out clean with the world.

Yea, Fraport. The German government should help us dig deeper into this illegal wealth deposit. Add to this is the Bolante’s case in US. Then, with the support of the Amnesty International and other Western media, GMA may still be ousted. But, the main act or much effort must be done by the Filipinos themselves including those who are living abroad. If we ourselves show lack of interest to oust this GMA, how and why would foreign countries? They have problems of their own.

If secretary Bunye believes he can just intimidate anybody by threat, then he’s sadly mistaken. Threatening itself is a Crime, and so is intimidations. If the First family, believe that they have been falsely accused of some wrongdoing, then proceed with the process so we will hear the evidence. Or are they just afraid to hear it?
If they could threaten a Congressman like Cayetano who only obtained the evidence provided by the German bank that’s included in one of the boxes supposed to be presented at the recent impeachment, we can just imagine how they could threaten witnesses and those who have knowledge about their cheating and stealing. So, let’s not be surprised that very few witnesses come out or if they did, they later retracted.

–indeed, npongco – that idea could do the country more harm than good. First, the economy of the country relies heavily on the US in trade and commerce while that of Iran can stand independently of the US because their main export is oil which is highly in demand in the world market and can be sold elsewhere. Second, it is a form of displaced agression. Holding innocent embassy personnel captives for political reason can hardly be considered sane solution, as it would cause pain and untold suffering not only to the innocent prisoners but also their families back home.
The problem with extreme measures being resorted to is that only the ordinary and marginalized sector of our society suffer. Politicians, whether with the administration or the opposition, have their bank accounts heavily stuffed that would enable them to stay afloat for a long period of time after this boat we are in sink of heavy bombardment in this ugly and nasty political battle royale.
Do you honestly believe that those in the opposition side do these purely for patriotic or heroic reason? In fact, hordes of them were the same faces who kicked out of Malacañang GMA’s predecessor. They are mostly the same personalities dating back to the EDSA I fame. Vicious cyle, indeed!
One step forward, two steps backward, that’s how this country move, and giving these politicians aid and comfort in this political forum when we take sides only help further muddle the issues. And who will be the ultimate victims? We, the ordinary mortals and lesser children of God!
But if that’s the only way to make this GMA step down, it’s worth trying. Some may still not accept the theory of America’s hand on GMA’s stay in office. But, the US may just give up on her if they see many American lives are held hostage. Of course there’s a risk. Everything has a risk especially on national issues like this when the country’s future is at stake. If the US really wants, she can even stage a raid on the US Embassy using her CIA operatives who include local Filipinos. This is one good way of getting rid of Gloria. The question is, will America let go of her? From all indications and given the increased presence of US troops in the South, GMA would stay until 2010 and even beyond.

Hindi palalampasin ng Malacañang ang walang basehang akusasyon at pag-atake ni Rep. Alan Peter Cayetano sa First Family kaugnay sa sinasabing secret account sa ibang bansa.
Ayon kay Presidential Spokesman Ignacio Bunye, malisyoso at salat sa katotohanan ang mga akusasyon ni Cayetano at layunin lamang nitong wasakin ang kredibilidad at pangalan ng pamilya ni Pangulong Gloria Macapagal Arroyo.
Iginiit ng Malacañang na bawiin ng kongresista ang kanyang bintang at gumawa ng public apology sa First Family at kung sakaling magmatigas si Cayetano, kakasuhan at dedemanda para mabigyang katarungan ang pinsalang idinulot nito.
Sinabi pa ni Bunye na lumagpas na sa limitasyon ang pamumulitika ng oposisyon dahil sinisilip ng mga ito pati ang mga walang basehang akusasyon para lamang tuluyang mawasak ang punong ehekutibo.
Matapos aniyang hindi magtagumpay ang grupo ni Cayetano sa impeachment complaint, personal na atake naman ang ginagawa sa Unang Pamilya.
Nauna rito, ibinunyag ni Rep.Cayetano na mayroong multi-million dollar account ang mga Arroyo sa abroad kabilang na ang umano’y nasa isang bangko sa Germany.

I brought up the idea of raiding the US Embassy to force the US to dump this Gloria. The US might just agree to save many American lives. The US can always use this hostage as an excuse to get rid of Gloria. The US might already be thinking of a good way to dump GMA; but America’s interest prevails.

Yes, but hijacking plane would be more expensive and would gain international attention. There would be many foreigners in the plane not only Americans. A plane costs billions of dollars these days. America may just listen unlike that hotel siege where only Filipinos were victims. The demand is simple: Ask GMA to step down and place an interim government to be composed of reputable personalities. Then, a snap election to choose a legitimate leader. This may just work…and the only option I can think of. We can’t just wait and see this GMA and her family continue to abuse and steal every peso that is left in the country.

i dunno if this has been discussed before but how come it is easy to replace an “erap” and it is so hart to get rid of a “gloria”? is this because the middle and upper class filipinos aren’t doing anything? why? i know almost all of them dont like gloria too.
That’s true. The missing link is the middle and upper class. Unlike Edsa One and Two, we don’t see any powerful business group that dares to fight this Gloria. Or are these businessmen being well taken care by Malacanang? The Catholic Church is also one factor. If this Cayetano revelation were to happen during Marcos and Erap’s time, the church would have been among the first ones to make noise. But, there’s no longer a Cardinal Sin to do this.

Yes norpil, when we speak of the church, it’s not only the Catholic Church. Powerful religious groups like El Shaddai and INK that continue to support this illegitimate government are partly to blame.
