i’ve been watching a lot of Jon Stewart and Stephen Colbert videos on YouTube lately … and I was wondering why we have no similar personalities in the Philippines. ( or kung meron man di ko nakikita ). akala ko magaling tayong manggaya lalo na ng mga palabas galing sa U.S. Kung meron na Philippines Idol at Pinoy Big Brother , sana magkakaroon din ng the Philippine version of The Daily Show.

FYI, Armed men break into solon’s home

Still unidentified armed men barged into the residence of opposition Representative Benjamin Agarao in Santa Cruz, Laguna early Tuesday and briefly held an employee hostage, the solon confirmed.
Agarao, who belongs to the Laban ng Demokratikong Pilipino (LDP) and represents his province’s fourth district, said the six “heavily armed” assailants stormed his residence in Barangay Patimbao around 3 a.m.
“Tinatanong daw nung mga lalaki kung saan puwesto ng kwarto ko, may baril daw ba ako at ilan, oras at araw daw ng pag uwi ko, at mga partikular na lakad ko (I was told the men were asking where my room was, if I had guns and how many, the time and day I went home, and the details of my trips” Agarao told INQ7.net in a phone interview.
When the assailants filed to extract the information they sought, they seized JR Mangaya, 50, and brought him along with them in a pick-up.
However, he said the armed men brought Mangaya back after an hour.
“Nanginginig daw siya sa takot kasi tinutukan siya ng dalawang armalite (He was shaking with fear because he said two Armalite rifles were aimed at him),” said Agarao.
The solon said he was at the Batasan Complex working when the incident happened.
Agarao, who supports efforts to impeach President Gloria Macapagal-Arroyo, said he has no known enemies and has not received any death threats.
He said he was unfazed by the incident.
“Balewala sila, tuloy lang ang trabaho, nananakot lang sila, basta huwag nilang idamay ang mga civilian at family ko (They don’t matter, my work will go on, they just want to scare me, but as long as they don’t harm any civilians and my family),” he said.
Although he doubted the incident had to do with the ongoing debates on the substance of the impeachment complaint against Arroyo, Agarao nevertheless said it was ” a warning, parang mensahe sa mga (like a message to the) opposition.”

Back to Middle-east, in today’s interview with CNN, Israel Foreign Minister was asked why they attacked Israel just because of one young abducted soldier. She replied saying it was to send a message to Hezbollah to they can’t mess with Israel. So you see, Israel just wanted to send message even if they killed thousands of civilians and destroyed Lebanon properties. What kind of reasoning is this? If someone, a neighbor hurts your son or brother, do you go to this neighbor and kill all the household members and destroy their house?
