Katulad ng maraming institusyon ng demokrasya at marami pang bagay na binabastos at sinira ni Gloria Arroyo, itong SONA ay nawawalan na ng halaga dahil panay pagyayabang at pambobola lang ang sinasabi.
Noong Biyernes, gumawa ng advance SONA ang miyembro ng organisasyon ng mga Former Senior Government Officials (FSGO) at kanilang inilahad ang pitong pasakit ni Arroyo sa taumbayan.
Ang pamagat ng kanilang SONA ay “Hindi Matatag na Bayan, Kundi Ninakaw na Bayan: Kung Nasaan Tayo Ngayon”.
Ang pitong pasakit ni Arroyo ay:
1.Nauubusan tayo ng pagkain dahil pinabayaan niya ang agrikultura.
2.Dumarami ang mahihirap dahil sa kanyang maling palakad sa ekonomiya.
3.Sumasama ang serbisyo ng gobyerno dahil binabalewala niya ang
panganga-ilangan ng taumbayan.
4.Hawak siya sa leeg ng mga nagngungurakot sa pondo ng gobyerno.
5.Pinauupo niya sa posisyon ang mga walang karapatan at walang
kakayahang mamuno sa mga ahensiya ng gobyerno.
6.Hindi siya tunay na nahalal na pangulo ng bayan.
7.Ninakaw niya sa atin ang ating dignidad, pag-asa at kinabukasan.
Si Vicente Paterno, dating chairman ng Board of Investment noong panahon ni Marcos, ang nanguna sa paglalahad ng tunay na SONA. Kasama doon sina Dinky Soliman, dating Social Welfare secretary ni Arroyo; Cesar Purisima, dating trade secretary ni Arroyo,; David,
dating chairman ng Civil Service Commission; Lito Banayo, chief ng Philippine Tourism Authority at marami pang iba.
Sabi nila noong unang SONA ni Arroyo noong 2001, sinabi niya na prioridad niya ang pagkakaroon ng sapat na bigas para sa sambayanang Pilipino. Inulit niya yun noong 2003.
Ano na tayo ngayon? Tayo ang pinakamalaking importer ng bigas sa buong mundo. Limang oras pumipila ang mgfa mahihirap bago makabili ng murang bigas. At lalong dumadami ang walang pambili ng bigas at nagugutom.
Doon sa sinabi ng mga alagad ni Arroyo masipag siya, tanong ng FSGO, para kanino siya nagsisipag?
Sabi nila, hindi nagsisipag si Arroyo para sa bayan. Nagsisipag siya para sa sarili niya at sa kanyang hinaharap.
Sabi pa ng FSGO, maraming ninakaw si Arroyo ngunit ang pinakamabigat ay ang kanyang pagnakaw ng ating kinabukasan.

Truth is when I went with a TV crew from Japan in the late 90’s after the garbage collapsed at Payatas, I actually wondered how the people there could bear living on top of the garbage without getting sick. In fact, when I came back to Japan after that trip, I suffered from some lung infection that the doctor said I could have gotten inhaling dirt at that site. That’s why I avoid going to assignments on such kind of location. Mahina kasi ang immune system ko.
But the experience was actually something I cannot afford to miss. Doon ako nakakita ng tinatapon na mga bangkay from some university hospital. I made an issue of it, and wonder now if something has been done to stop the bad practice. Dito kasi, it is a crime to abandon corpses the way they do in the Philippines. Shocking talaga. And they pride themselves for being Christians!
The video reminds me of the sisid rice at the end of WWII. I was not born during the war but I have heard a lot about the sisid rice, the rotten eggplants, etc. that Filipinos were forced to buy and eat because of the hunger and poverty during the war, but the Philippines is not at war at the moment. Shock ako talaga. I went to Payatas in the late 90’s soon after the landslide (actually garbage collapsing), but I did not hear about the pagpag food they’re eating now. Pero, nakakadiri talaga at saka talagang nakakasuka ang amoym pero hindi sila nagkakasakit. Bilib ka rin sa immune system ng mga nakatira doon. Hindi nga sila nagkakasakit pero malamang na carrier sila ng kung anu-anong sakit.
Halos tatlong buwan inabot ang lung infection ko. Tindi ng ubo ko akala ko TB na sa totoo lang. Kung sa Japan ko nakuha iyong sakit, I could ask for compensation, etc. as a victim of pollution, pero sa Payatas ko nakuha kaya no dice. Tapos tatambakan ang mga pilipino ng mga basurang SONA ni Gloria Garutay?
