Noong Huwebes ng gabi, panandalian kaming nagkaroon ng kuryente. Tamang-tama TV Patrol, balita sa ABS-CBN.
Nasa balita ang mga nasawing mangingisda sa Mariveles, Bataan nang inabutan ng bagyong “Basyang”. Ini-interview ang asawa ng isang nasaawing mangingisda. Sabi ng asawa hindi raw niya alam kung ano ngayon ang kanyang gagawin dahil buntis siya at wala naman siyang hanapbuhay.
Sabi pa niya, may isa pa silang anak at nakakulong. Nag-iipon nga daw sana sila ng pera para magkaroon ng pampiyansa sa kanilang nakakulong na anak.
Hindi pa natapos ang TV Patrol, nawala na naman ang kuryente. Madilim na naman kami.
Pangalawang araw nay yun na wala kaming kuryente. At siyempre kapag walang kuryente, walang tubig at walang cellphone. Hindi kami makapag-charge. Medyo nakakainis.
Ngunit parang nahiya ako sa sarili na maiinis ako pagkatapos ko napanood ang kalagayan ng balo ng mangingisda sa Mariveles. Sabi ko sa asarili ko, oo nga mainit dahil walang aircon at walang electric fan. Hindi ka makatulog ng maayos sa init.
May tubig pa kami sa aming tangke at tinitipid naming dahil hindi nga naming alam kung hanggang kalian kami magkakaroon ng kuryente. Naala-ala ko kasi noong bagyong Milenyo inabot kami ng sobra isang linggo na walang kuryente.
Kaya lang, naiisip ko, ano ba naman ang aking problema kung ikumpara ko yan sa hirap ng balo na namataway ng asawa, may anak na nakakulong, buntis at wala pa siyang trabaho? Kung isipin ko ang aking kalagayan, wala akong karapatan magreklamo.
Ipinagdasal ko na sana naman matulungan ang balo ng namatay na mangingisda kasama na rin ng mga pamilya ng iba pang mga nasawi sa bagyong Basyang.
Bumalik na rin ang kuryente sa amin noong Biyernes ng madaling araw.
Ang isang apektado rin ng bagyo ay ang cellphone. Dahil walang kuryente, hindi makapag-charge. Nakakandaloko-loko na rin ang signal.
Sa panahon ngayon, ang ating buhay ay umiikot sa cellphone. Para tayong pilay kapag walang cellphone.
Malaking tulong ang cellphone sa ating pamumuhay. Ganun din ang internet. Ngunit tuwing may mangyayari na hindi gumagana itong mga bagong teknolohiya, sa halip na isipin ko ang perwisyo, sinasabi ko sa sarili ko, nabuhay ako na walang cellphone at walang internet, pwede ko ipagpatuloy ang buhay na wala yun.
Pwedeng magmuni-muni sa kadiliman. Magpasalamat sa Panginoon sa mga biyayang natanggap at mag-isip kung paano makatulong sa kapwa.
to count ones blessings is a commendable attitude, nevertheless one must not lose sight of the fact that brownouts were also caused by corruption in gov’t. Phil electricity cost is the 2nd most expensive in the world, and yet its service to customers is one of the worst.
Only a no-nonsense fight against corruption and high electricity rate would enable the country to move forward.
In my view,the electricity market in the Philippines is manipulated. There’s no true market. Instead of electric rates to go down due to competition, as everyone hope the law would do, electricity cost more now with no end insight. Plus all the other fees added to it. The government is not really helpless if it wants to curb these pricing excesses, similarly when they twists arms of small business when sugar, flour, rice, and the like when up, but rather became an active participant in these excesses by simply ignoring or not doing anything concrete to correct this anti-business and anti-consumer electricity policy. Looks like the Philippine government under goyang is beholden to big electricity conglomerate since it is during their time that the WESM/EPIRA was put in place after tabakos term, and sold us out. I just hope the current administration of pnoy will take notice and do something about it. If not, whatever stimulus or livelihood program it promote, it will fail due to electricity cost!

The water in the sierra madres should be owned by the people and not by a corporation. The supply of water is manipulated. It is just in recent memory that marikina was buried in water. Where did that all come from? Now angat is dry. I’d say that is total mismanagement or is it managed supply? Less supply + ever increasing demand = $$$$

Oo nga Ellen nakakatulong talaga ng malaki sa atin lalo na sa pakikipagcommunicate ang cellphone,subalit marami rin ang masamang epektong dulot nito.Nakataya ang buhay mo sa mga holdupper,pinagmumulan ng sakuna sa di wastong paggamit nito(nagto talk & text while driving) Sana taasan ng gobyerno ang multa sa mga motorista na gumagawa nito.Ang problema sa brownout tila wala na talagang lunas,nakailang presidente na ba ang nagpalit-palitan pero ganun pa rin,kahit walang bagyo nga eh brownout hanggang kailan tayo magtitiis sa ganito tsk!tsk!
Kung malinis at hindi lang sana puro basura ang nakapaligid sa atin,malaking tulong sana ang mga pagbaha kung gagawa ng malaking stockkan ng tubig underground gaya ng Japan ang gobyerno,tatalunin pa lahat ng dam dyan malulunasan ang kakapusan sa supply ng tubig.

Marami ngang trashcan nasasayang lang nasa mga kalye at estero ang mga basura ,sisi kaagad sa gobyerno mga mamayan naman ang maykasalan.Dapat kung matitigas na ang ulo ng mga magulang o matatanda ano kaya kung ipursige ang pagdesiplina sa mga bata. Sayang ang mga pag asa ng bayan tumatanda na walang natutunan.Gawa muna bago ang salita either governments or every Filipinos there must be a self decipline.

Is the new President serious about Davide heading the Truth Commission? It’s a really bad joke. He might as well round up all other corrupt GMA minions to task them with elimination of corruption.
I am more inclined toward departmental Truth Commission and encouraging/rewarding rather than previous punishment of whistleblowers. Of course, there should also be punishment/ removal of those who are not in earnest as whistleblowers. Thus, they should follow through to establishing evidence and witnesses of corrupt and dishonest acts of people who are supposed to be failing in their rendering of “faithful public service.”
If the new President is worth this new mandate, he would start a new order– requiring all government officials and employees to serve the public rather than behave like the public should serve them. Honesty and truth should start at the lowest governmental units. A new approach is needed. The littlest servants did not learn about service from the higher ones– Now, maybe we can get the Higher offcials to learn from the lowest ones, who have not been contaminated yet by the corruption virus that apparently the officials are infected with. But Truth Commission headed by Davide? Lord, have mercy. Values cannot be taught; but they can be caught. So, not from this one who proved to be another type of model.

Ang tanong ko lang ano ang silbi ng Emabassy dito pag lahat ng kelangan namin para sa NBI ay sa Pinas pa kukunin, paano yung mga walang kamag-anak na mauutusan o kya nsa malayong probinsya. Ang ibang embassy dito (Indian, Nepal, Bangladesh) lahat ay nakukuha nila sa embassy nila. Bakit po kaya ganun? Ano kaya ang kulang sa embassy ng Pinas at kelangan pang dalhin sa Pinas ang mga dokomento? Kahit bago o renewal ay sa Pinas pa ang processing. Magbabayad pa kami sa courier (DHL) para makarating ito sa Pinas.
Isa pa po ay may 2 taon na akong di nakakauwi, paano nila i-bi-verify ang record ko doon samantalang andito ako sa Qatar.
