That’s the statement of Sen. Grace Poe on her one-on-one meeting with President Aquino last Monday.
I agree with this playful remark in Facebook by Bryan E. Torculas: “Me reading between the lines: iindorso man kita o hindi, friends tayo ha pag nanalo kang Presidente. wag mo ko ipakulong, let’s break the tradition of imprisoning Phil. Presidents after their terms.. ha ha…”
With that assurance from the popular senator, it is hoped that Aquino would stop convincing Poe to be the running mate of the Liberal Party standard bearer. It’s getting tiresome.
The whole exercise is actually an insult to Poe and Roxas. When actually, it’s all about Aquino trying to spare himself the difficult task of endorsing a loser.
Aquino’s wish for Poe to run as vice president of Roxas is not really because he and the Liberal Party think that the lady senator’s popularity would rub on Roxas and win him more votes. They are political veterans; they know that a strong vice president does not lift a weak president. Recall 1998 elections: Gloria Arroyo was of no help to Jose de Venecia against Joseph Estrada. Also in 1992, Estrada was not able to boost Eduardo “Danding” Cojuangco’s presidential bid against Fidel Ramos.
Having taken care of Vice President Jejomar Binay, an early frontrunner for the 2016 presidential race, with exposes on alleged massive corruption in Makati, the LP thought Roxas would only be up against fellow presidential lightweights senators Alan Cayetano, Chiz Escudero, and Ferdinand Marcos, Jr.
They didn’t reckon with the emergence of Poe as a presidential contender.
That’s the reason Aquino and the LP want Grace in their fold but as Mar’s vice president. They actually want to suppress and dim Grace’s rising political star.
A source close to the LP said the first meeting of Aquino, Poe, Escudero and Roxas was so embarrassing for Mar.
Contrary to reports that it was Poe who set as a condition Escudero joining her and Mar in going around the country, it was Aquino who proposed, “Isama nyo na si Chiz.”
One can imagine how Roxas must have felt when the President suggested that.
When it was getting clear that Grace preferred a Poe-Escudero team-up, the LP insulted her by saying “oh she is okay but that she is being controlled by Chiz.” It’s like saying she has no mind of her own.”
The LP was a member of the Koalisyon ng Katapatan at Karanasan sa Kinabukasan (K-4) against Fernando Poe, Jr’s Koalisyon ng Nagkakaisang Pilipino (KNP).
Roxas topped the senatorial race (Remember Mr. Palengke?) under Arroyo’s K-4 coalition.
During the congressional canvassing of the votes of the presidential and vice-presidential candidates the LP actively suppressed questions on questionable results raised by the opposition. Remember Sen. Francis Pangilinan’s “Noted, Noted” whenever then senators Aquilino Pimentel Jr. and Tessie Aquino-Oreta brought to their attention number of votes exceeding number of registered votes in Maguindanao precincts? Remember Hello Garci?
And who raised the hand and proclaimed Gloria Arroyo the winner of the 2004 elections in the wee hours of the morning while the Filipino people were fast asleep? The LP’s Franklin Drilon as Senate President.
Now Aquino and the LP want Poe to sacrifice for their candidate?

Poe sold her soul to Aquino when she opt to have closed door inquiry. She is being propelled in surveys with the connivance of the oligarchs and media to continue their full control of the Philippines…kawawang Pilipinas, looks like were heading to disaster with Poe at the help with Escudero as the chief manipulator…
I was surprised at Mayor Estrada’s recent commendation of Roxas as a capable executive. Arroyo hired him, too, and we got the call center industry out of that deal. Obviously, Mr. Aquino thinks highly of him.
Senator Poe is green as green can be. We don’t even know her, under pressure. Her allegiance to Escudero is strange. I think Mr. Aquino only wants a continuation of his straight path initiative, and is wholly confident that Mar Roxas would deliver that. He asked Ms. Poe to serve the NATION as his VP, but she is more loyal to Escudero. And his contacts and their money.
It is a political party, whether you call it one or not.
I’d say we are just getting to know Ms. Poe.

Okay ang analysis mo kung si Grace ay may partido o coalition na buma-back-up na sa kanya. Kailangan kasi niyang sumali o ma-endorso ng isang partido tulad ng NPC o PMP o kaya NP para magkaroon siya ng financing para sa isang presidential race. Sa ngayon wala pa. Sa ngayon hindi maganda ang magiging itsura niya kung mag-deklara siyang tatakbo ng wala pa siyang commitment mula sa NPC, PMP, NP o kahit man lang PDP. E paano kung wala dun sa mga partidong kilala ang sumoporta sa kanya?
Siguraduhin muna ni Grace na meron ba-back up sa kaniya bago siya mag announce na tatakbo siya bilang presidente. Iyan yata ang tinatrabaho ni Chiz ngayon.
Walang problema kung tatakbo siya bilang vice. Pero iba kung tatakbo siya bilang presidente.
Add to that na naghahanda ang kampo ni Binay ng kaso questioning her legibility – yung citizenship at residency – kung sakaling tatakbo siya.
No, the President is not trying to sideline her. Di naman declared presidential candidate si Grace at wala pa namang indikasyon na susuportahan at popondahan siya ng NPC at ni Danding. Si Chiz naman nakasandal sa grupo ni Bobby Ongpin pero pera yun at hindi political organization so baka maubos lang ang pera at panahon nila ni Grace kung magtatayo pa sila ng organisasyon.
Si Grace ang gusto ni Mar na bise pero gagalaw lang si Grace kung manggaling ang offer mula mismo sa Presidente. Ang problema, at alam mo din naman yan siguro, si Presidente ang approach sa mga bagay na ganyan ay laging iwanan ang desisyon dun sa taong magde-desisyon. Hindi niya sasabihin na ganito o ganyan. Ipe-presenta niya ang sitwasyon, ang whys, pero he will let you make up your own mind. Kaya mahaba ang usapan. Marami ngang nagsasabi na bakit hindi na lang sabihin ni Presidente kay Grace na tumakbo siyang vice ni Mar.
The LP must have conveniently forgotten the 2004 elections when they were in partnership with Gloria Arroyo in insulting and undermining the candidacy of Grace Poe’s father, Fernando Poe Jr.

With all the maneuvers Pnoy and LP did to win Grace to run as Mar’s VP, they did not expect that the neophyte senator is smarter than them tradpols. 🙂

Ellen, di ba si Chiz ang nagdala kay FPJ sa ospital ng maatake? I can understand why Grace is loyal to Chiz if this was the case.
Not aligning herself to the trapols who in a hurry (middle of the night) proclaimed Arroyo as president, shows that she can not be manipulated by the summa cum tradpols and has a mind of her own.
SomeonS please explain this to me. When Aquino ran for prresident and won, Roxas slid down to be his VP candidate because he was way behind in the presidential polls and Aquino was way ahead. Now the situation is like before with Roxas being way behind and Poe being way ahead. Can someone please explain to me why in this case, it should be Poe who should be sliding down instead of Mar?

Ang hangad ng nakararami sa mga Pilipino ay ‘yung pinunong magiging instrumento ng pagkakaisa, pagkakabuklod buklod at pagtutulungan upang makamit ang kung hindi man maunlad ay isang maayos na sambayanan. Isang pinunong hindi kumikiling nang hayagan sa mga kaibigan, kapartido at naging tagapagtaguyod na ang mga pinangingibabaw ay pansariling interes at hindi ang kagalingan ng karaniwang tao.

A very big congratulation to Joe America for being appreciated and specially noted in the Presidential State of the Nation Address for his Blog and constructive commentary on the issues that the President considered to have positive contributions to the betterment of society.
