Jeane’s picture with the President was sent to broadcaster Anthony Taberna Wednesday afternoon and made the rounds of social media immediately after it was posted.
Today’s photos came from Malacañang. Presidential Communications Development and Strategic Planning Secretary Ricky Carandang said after checking Malacañang’s photo files of that Cebu event, they found more photos of the President with Janet herself and her husband, Jaime. He said in that event, a lot of people were having their pictures taken with the President.
He said they decided to release the pictures “so people would not speculate.” The President had earlier said he does not remember having met Napoles until her surrender last week in Malacañang.
But we doubt if we have seen the end of photo releases from different sources. Last Monday photos of Senate President Franklin Drilon with the Napoles couple were passed around in social media. Drilon said it was taken during an event at the Heritage Park in Taguig City where seminarians from China were guests.
At the same time, Drilon stressed that none of his Priority Development Assistance Fund went to any of Napoles bogus non-government organizations.
From the testimony of Ben Hur Luy, former associate of Napoles, and his fellow whistleblowers, at least ten persons will be charged in court. But those who are implicated in the Napoles scam- are reportedly taking a ‘scorched earth’ strategy of bringing down with them everybody.
It is good that social media is being used actively in making the public aware of the gross abuse of public resources. We should focus on the issue and not allow those who want to distract us to escape accountability.
Communications executive JB Baylon is spot on in his FB comment that “The question is not ‘do you have a picture with Napoles’ or ‘did you spend your PDAF’”. The question is ‘did you steal your PDAF — through Napoles or some bogus NGO or ghost project”? In the end it all boils down to accountability and transparency. “
JB said:”Let’s keep focused on the right issues and right questions folks. For obvious reasons, some interests want to muddle the issues.”
On the part of the officials, who had the misfortune of having been photographed with the social climbing Napoleses in one of those social gatherings they have attended (they could not be discriminating who to have pictures with in public), our advice is: “Grin and bear it. It comes with the territory.”
In the end, truth will prevail.

Kanya-kanyang rason kung bakit kasama nila sa kodakan ang Napoles family, and yes idadamay sigurado ng mga implicated sa pork scam ang lahat hanggang sa pinakamataas. Masaya ito, salamat sa social media!
Kahit ‘aksidente’ lang ang photos ng ibang public officials with Napoles, something good is coming out of this kodakan galore. Nauntog sila, namamayat na siguro ang mga matataba sa kanila dahil sa kulang sa tulog.

Sana naman may talagang makukulong na. Nagiging “fiesta” lang ang mga ito. Ilang buwaya na ang humarap sa senado. Hannggang ngayon nasa labas pa rin sila at yung karamihan sa kanila eh nagkakandidato pa sa elections.
Siyempre, parte ng prospecting nila Napoles yan, to go to parties and get to know how many politicians they can get money from. The more picture taking poses they have, and the bigger the fish is they take pictures with, the higher the chances would be that the Napoleses will have more business.
Sana hindi matabunan ng kodakan ang tunay na isyu, ang pagnanakaw ng pera ng bayan aka pork barrel.

That picture alone would be innocuous enough if not because the President has categorically stated at first that he does not know the woman from Eve. Now that picture, alongside some curious twists and turns in the past few weeks, converge to compel one to take a pause and ask: “Does the President really not know her?” Among you here who believe the President does not know her, raise your hand.
Pnoy is pictured as an epitome of everything good: honest, clean, dignified, not corrupt, lilly-white, so something like this would attract attention like a blot on a all-white sheet.
Now, if they know each other why would PNoy lie about it?
Again, it’s beside the point. Whether Noynoy lied about KNOWING Napoles or not, the issue is: Did Noynoy spend his PDAF on Napoles’ bogus foundations? If there is evidence to the pin him too, by all means, let him suffer the same consequences.
Mere innuendos however only tend to muddle the issue in favor of the scammers.

I would not wonder if those being named in the scandal have now joined forces to defend themselves. Think, how would they defend themselves? Force the President to back out. If the President is not hiding or protecting anything, good. Else, he’s an easy target.

In another thread, someone was claiming PNoy coursed P10M for some road projects in Tarlac through two Napoles’ NGOs in 2006. The news was supposedly carried by Inquirer and Tribune. I do not know, maybe Ms Ellen could help. But you would note that no COA report has so far come out of any Noy PDAF.

I love this “pork show” and I would like to see these clowns get punished especially Mr. Revilla, Mr. Estrada, (yes MISTER, not senator) and El Viejo Enrile. Mr. Revilla has done nothing for the Cavitenos and for the province of Cavite when he was the governor there. Now, I wonder much money did he spend for Jolo Revilla to beat Jay Lacson for the vice-governor position of Cavite. Just wondering.

Yes, Tongue, that’s Renee Salud. Beside him is Cheryl Jimenea,who was one of the two personal secretaries of Erap in Malacanang and continues to be his secretary now in Manila City Hall. I don’t know if Cheryl continues to be Erap’s secretary in the wake of this Napoles controversy.
I understand Cheryl worked with Napoles.

I saw tonight (13 September 2013) this interview with Jinggoy Estrada wherein the reporter asked him if he really knew Mrs Janet Lim Napoles and he answered that it was his wife who was her friend. He said that they became friends due to PTA meetings in the school where their children studied.
As far as I know, the children of Napoles are much, much older than his children. Jeane Napoles had already graduated with honors in college. If there is anyone younger than her, he/she is no longer in the elementary grades or in high school. This is interesting in the light of his denials in his involvement in the pork barrel scam.
I am an admirer of your gutsy investigations about such timely issues confronting our nation so I hope you’ll look into this with the same eagerness you used to dig the truth in the past several years.

From the pictures, we saw that Mapoles had 2 young boys studying in I.S. They were calling Jeane “Ate” so it’s safe to assume they are high school level at the oldest.
