Update: Mike Arroyo opposes nomination of Atty. Ernesto Francisco as Ombudsman
Sabi ni Roque, para kay Arroyo ang napatunayang independence na pinakita ni Justice Carpio-Morales sa mga desisyun sa Supreme Court kung saan nannindigan siya kung saan ang akala niyang tama na palagi ay kabaliktaran nang siya ang naka-upo sa Malacañang.
Ang gusto ni Arroyo, sabi ni Roque, ay ang sunod-sunoran sa kanya katulad ni Merceditas Gutierrez.
Sabi ni Roque tinanggihan niya ang plano ng ibang grupo na i-nominate siya para Ombudsman dahil suportado niya si Carpio-Morales.
Halatang ninenerbyus na si Arroyo ngayon na wala na si Gutierrez sa Ombudsman.
Sumulat si Arroyo sa Judicial and Bar Council na siyang magkikilatis ng mga pwedeng i-rekomenda sa pangulo para sa napakamahalagang posisyun sa programa laban sa kurakutan sa pamahalaan. Sabi ni Arroyo, “If appointed Ombudsman, I sincerely believe that Justice Conchita-Morales would not have the required ‘independence’ and impartiality in resolving cases involving me and my immediate family.”
Nakakatawa. Nagsalita ng ‘independence’ and’impartiality’ si Arroyo na sa siyam na taon niya sa kanyang ninakaw na pwesto sa Malacanang ay ipina-andar ang makinarya ng pamahalaan para matago ang katotohanan at lahat ay sunud-sunuran lang sa kanya.
Baligtad na nga talaga ang mundo para kay Arroyo. Sabi ni Presidential Spokesperson Edwin Lacierda nang si Arroyo ang naka-upo sa malacanang sinasabi niya na ang mga boto ni Carpio-Morales na laban sa kanya ay katunayan na ‘independent’ ang Supreme Court. Ngayon hindi na raw magiging ‘independent’ si Carpio-Morales.
Magre-retire si Carpio- Morales sa Supreme Court sa Hunyo 19.
Nagsimula nang magsampa ng mga kaso sa kanya ng graft ang corruption. Mahaba-haba yan. Fertilizer scam, PIATCO,NBN-ZTE, Road Users tax, Northrail at marami pang iba.
Dapat isama ang kanyang pandaraya ng 2004 eleksyun. Yun ang pinaka-malaking pagnanakaw na ginawa niya. Pagnanakaw ng boto ng sambayanang Pilipino. Grabeng operasyun yun kasama pa ang pagpalit ng election returns na nakatago sa Batasan Pambansa. Ang laking pera ng bayan ang nagamit doon.
Sa pagtalaga ni kay Arroyo kay Gutierrez sa Ombudsman at kay Renato Corona bilang chief justice ng Supreme Court, kampante si Arroyo na protektado siya sa mga krimen na kanyang ginawa laban sa bayan.
Natanggal si Gutierrez. Kaya hindi nakakapagtaka kung sa ngayon pa lang naghahanap na si Arroyo ng mga bansa na pwede niyang takbuhan kung saka-sakali. Yung walang extradisyun treaty.

Kung genetics lang, the late Jose Wright Diokno was the DOJ Secretary who took down Harry Stonehill, who once had the entire Manila, and the national government in his pockets. I’m sure the Diokno son would want to honor the memory of the father.
Bakit paba natin pinagaaksayahan ng panahon ang mga comments ni Cong.GMA? Her term already ended. For me she has no right no dictate nor influence PNOY on who he will choose the next Ombudsman. Its PNOY prerogative. Justice Carpio-Morales is a good choice or a certain lawyer endorsed by Mareng Winnie in her PDI column last month (whom I forgot his name>sorry, hehe).

FIRST it was former President Gloria Arroyo, now it’s the turn of her husband Jose Miguel “Mike” Arroyo.
The former First Gentleman wrote to the Judicial and Bar Council (JBC) expressing his objection to the nomination of lawyer Ernesto Francisco to replace his law batch-mate and former Ombudsman Merceditas Gutierrez.
Francisco, an advocacy lawyer, was nominated by former Pampanga Gov. Eduardo “Among Ed” Panlilio.
“Attorney Francisco cannot be expected to be an impartial and independent Ombudsman should he be endorsed and appointed to the position. His actions against me and my family would show without doubt his prejudice,” Mr. Arroyo said in the letter dated June 4, 2011.
“My family, who appears to be the subject of selective persecution by the present administration, cannot expect fair treatment from Atty. Francisco should he be appointed as the new Ombudsman,” Mr. Arroyo said.
Arroyo cited as proof of Francisco’s bias against his family are the latter’s filing a petition before the Ombudsman accusing the former First Gentleman of being involved in the NBN-ZTE broadband project which was cancelled in 2007.
Arroyo also mentioned the subsequent case Francisco filed at the Supreme Court which sought to reverse the dismissal of the petition against him by the Ombudsman.
He also mentioned Francisco’s filing of a petition in 2006 that sought to reverse the House of Representatives’ dismissal of the amended impeachment case against then President Gloria Arroyo.
“Atty. Francisco cannot be an impartial Ombudsman because he has prejudged my wife, former president Arroyo, her administration, and myself, as evidenced by the several cases he has filed against us,” said Arroyo.
Former President and now Pampanga Rep. Arroyo had expressed her opposition to the appointment of Supreme Court Justice Conchita Carpio-Morales as the next Ombudsman based on similar grounds of lack of impartiality.
The JBC is expected to submit its short list of candidates to President Aquino next month.
Both GMA and Mike are totally irrelevant now. HAH!

Oo nga. Gloria and family still has this illusion that they are still calling the shots. Nakakatuwa, 'di ba ? The predators of nine years past are now on the cross-hairs of the new order just like any other common criminal. Now that Merceditas Gurierrez had outlived her usefulness (to the Arroyos and their ilk), the powers that were are now reduced to mere kili-kili power. I sure pray that the next ombudsman would perform the duties as mandated by this office and erase the stench of shame that Merceditas Gutierrez left behind.
