I like the idea of having a Kanyong Kawayan Festival. Each town should have this so people can gather together in welcoming the new year while watching/listening to the contestants make noise with their “cannons”. Enough with the expensive firecrackers, lets make do with what we have without wasting a lot of moooolah, plus endangering our lives and the lives and limbs of others too.
Now, if we still want some firework extravaganza perhaps some corporate sponsors can commission firework specialists, do it in one big plaza and there we can all gather together and enjoy the spectacles, handled by seasoned pyrotechnicians.

Happy new to all…we just wrapped up our celebration and all were joyous and peaceful as we greet the year 2011..

This is the best time for P NOY to say no more paputok.
All earners and capitalists in deadly firecrackers will be tracked down and provided assistance to shift to new
business and employment.
No more firecrackers next year. And that’s whole year time to carry it out.
As President, PNOY has the people’s power to do bloodless miracles.
For example he can stop illegal tax collection by employing all the forces of government to stop tax collectors not of the
BIR.
Dinky’s Dept now has the money. She can help turn around firecracker manufacturers and workers, so they can be closed once and for all.
The Philippine govt has all the necessary expertise for a multi-disciplinary solutions to the fircracker tradition induced
and maintained menace.
On this year the start of the new decade, the straight road wishes of PNoy should really bring changes to govt policy
stance and approach to rebellion.
Why should the govt be the first to ask for ceasefire every christmas?
Why should the govt court sectors who wants its overthrow so they can have useless peace talks.
The situation need to be looked into. Why should it be the rebels who go after soldiers and not the other way around.
News always say soldiers killed by rebels and not the other way around?
P NOY with all the might at his command the Congress and the local officials can turn the tables around.
Some people during these particular holidays will never learn their lessons. This is year in year out…garbage in garbage out yearly affairs. Depicting horrible pics of mutilated body parts will not deter others.
It’s akin to Driving Schools….the facilitators can show the students a decapitated/mutilated body of a man (head, a leg, an arm, leg and body thrown in different directions) with little to no effect whatsoever. Once they’re behind the wheels, their hormones go wild.
