I have not been to the Kiss the Cook Gourmet restaurant in UP Village but I’m told that aside from good food, they also offer good music.
Last July 4, they had the Oliver Salonga, two-time winner in the National Music Competition for Young Artists.
My friend Pablo Tariman classical music impressario, said on Sunday, July 25, at 6 p.m. Kiss the Cook Gourmet will have soprano Camille Lopez Molina, two-time NAMCYA first prize winner flutist Christopher Oracion and pianist Mary Anne Espina.
Lopez-Molina will highlight the concert with Schumann’s Widmung, Donaudy’s O del mio amato ben and Catalani’s Ebben ne andro lontana from La Wally popularized by the French film Diva. She was a scholar at the Hong Kong Academy of Performing Arts and studied at the Konservatorium der Stadt Wien where she was soloist in Szymanowski’s Stabat Mater conducted by Gerhard Schwarz at the Musikverein, home of the Vienna Philharmonic Orchestra.
Molina, Oracion and Espina have shared the stage with world-acclaimed Filipino tenor Otoniel Gonzaga who has covered for Placido Domingo and Luis Lima. Oracion has also shared the stage with Cecile Licad in her first performance at the historic Paoay Church in Ilocos Norte in 2006.
Kiss the Cook Gourmet is located at 65 Maguinhawa St., UP Village, Diliman, Quezon City. Tickets at P1200 each with dinner. Concert at 6 p.m. and dinner at 7 p.m. Only 37 seats available. For ticket inquiries, please call 7484152, 3573811 or 09065104270.
Music and Food, heaven on earth !
Tickets at P1200 each with dinner.
Sounds like very affordable considering the CV of the star cast. Birthday of one of my siblings. Will treat her to a soirée. Thanks, Ellen.
I’m sure you will enjoy it.
Thanks, Ellen… but will actually ask a friend to buy tickets for her. Am not in situ so can’t accompany her.
