Mabuti naman at naisama ang Ang Ladlad, ang grupo na magtatanggol ng karapatan ng isang tao laban sa diskriminasyun dahil sa kanyang kasarian o gender, sa listahan ng partylist groups na mapagpilian ng mga botante sa nalalapit na eleksyun sa Mayo.
Umabot sa 144 ang listahan ng mga partylist groups na maaring pagpilian ng mga botante na magiging kinatawan ng mga sinasabi nating marginalized sector o bahagi ng ating lipunan na hindi nabigyan ng sapat na oportunidad para umunlad.
Hindi ko nakita sa listahan ang Magdalo, ng mga makabayang sundalo na kasamahan ni Sen. Antonio Trillanes IV. Ito ang isang pagkakamali ng Comelec na kailangan pa iwasto.
Makakahinga na ng maluwag si Danton Remoto at ang kanyang kasamahan sa “Ang Ladlad”. Ngayon, maa-ari na nilang asikasuhin ang kanilang kampanya at ipatunayan na may suporta sila ng karamihan ng mamamayan.
Sana manalo sila dahil talaga namang kailangan maisulong ang mas aktibo at positibong papel ng mga sinasabi nating “third sex” sa ating lipunan. Hindi sila dapat itaboy katulad ng ginawa ng 2nd division ng Commission on Elections sa pangunguna ni Commissioner Nicodemo Ferrer.
Sa totoo lang, hindi naisama ang “Ang Ladlad” dahil naliwanagan si Ferrer at ang kanyang kasamahang commissioner. Inutusan sila ng Supreme Court.
Nag-apela kasi sina Danton sa Supreme Court nang sila ay nilait-lait ng Comelec sa kanilang desisyon noong Nobyembre na ang Ladlad daw ay imoral. Ang ginawang basehan ng desisyon ninaFerrer ay ang Bibliya at Koran, hindi ang Saligang Batas.
Pinagbigyan ng Supreme Court ang hiling ng Ang Ladlad na pigilan ang Comelec sa kanilang pagsagawa ng kanilang desisyon. Sabi ng Supreme Court habang pinag-aralan pa nila ang kaso ng Ang Ladlad kailangan isama sila ng Comelec sa listahan ng partylist sa balota na ini-imprenta ngayon.
Sabi ng Supreme Court kung hindi kasi maisama sa balota Ang Ladlad ay magdesisyon sila pabor sa grupo, hindi na sila maiboto kung wala sila sa listahan. Kung hindi naman sasang-ayunan ng Supreme Court ang Ang Ladlad, wala namang problema yun dahil bibilangin ang kanilang boto.
Ngunit sa TRO na pinalabas ng Supreme Court sa Comelec, may ideya na tayo ng direksyun ng pag-iisip ng mga hukom.
Ayun sa ating Saligang Batas, 20 porsiyento ng mga myembro ay manggagaling sa mga partylist na mga grupo. Maganda ang layunin dahil ang pakay ay mabigyan ng representasyon ang mga napabayaan sa ating lipunan ngunit katuladng maraming bagay dittos ating bayan, pinasukan nina Gloria Arroyo at binabastos ang diwa ng batas.
Sana maayos ito lahat kapag wala na si Arroyo sa kapangyarihan.
Bakit hindi rin utusan ng Supreme Court ang Comelec na iwasto at isama ang Magdalo sa regional party-list? Umapela din ba ang Magdalo sa SC?

I don’t know why they are called marginalized groups as there is a guarantee of equality in the country’s constitution. I’d rather call these party list groups as one issue or specific issues Parties and if there should be a proportionate representation seats allotted for the parties who have not won a seat, the seats allotted for proportionate representation should be allocated proportionately according to the party list share of the votes in relation to the sum total . They way the set up is implemented it is very hard to really ascertain the intentions of these “marginalized Parties”. Is it to represent their issues or having access to the Pork and the “privileges inherent” to the Politicians? So far it is not working.

The United States of America, being the bastion of freedom of religion (something Rome cannot tolerate), was, naturally enough, particularly targeted by the Jesuits.
