Ampatuan Jr waves right to answer murder charges
Datu Unsay Mayor Andal Ampatuan Jr. was harassed by a handful of Filipino journalists when he arrived Friday afternoon at the Department of Justice (DOJ) for the preliminary investigation into the mass murder of 57 people in Maguindanao province last month.
Ampatuan Jr. arrived shortly before 1:30 p.m. at the DOJ compound on board a bulletproof van. He came out of the van handcuffed and clad in a bulletproof vest.
Before Ampatuan Jr. entered the DOJ building, he was harassed by some members of the National Press Club (NPC). The journalists were holding several pictures of the bodies taken from the massacre site in Ampatuan town.
Marlon Purificacion, a reporter of People’s Journal, threw pictures into Ampatuan Jr.’s face. The journalist said their protest is a show of support and sympathy for the 57 families of the massacre victims, which includes 30 journalists.
Ampatuan Jr. has been charged with 25 counts of murder for the massacre. Several witnesses have testified he took part in the killings.
Justice Secretary Agnes Devanadera said Ampatuan Jr. was summoned to appear at the preliminary investigation because police have filed additional murder charges against the mayor.
Ampatuan Jr.’s father, former Maguindanao Governor Andal Ampatuan Sr., and several members of the powerful political clan, have also been charged with murder for the massacre.
Before Ampatuan Jr.’s arrival, a DOJ employee called out at least 175 names of respondents in the multiple murder case. More than 60 of them are policemen and 5 are members of the Armed Forces of the Philippines.
The others facing murder complaints for the massacre are Shariff Aguak Vice-Mayor Ulo Ampatuan, Salibo Vice-Mayor Kanor Ampatuan, Shariff Aguak police auxiliary chief Tony Kenis Ampatuan, Abdullah Sangki, Muhamad Sangki, Tammy Masukat, Tumi Timba Abas, and Police Officer 1 Abbey Guiadem.
Devanadera said the police have filed multiple murder cases against 243 people.
Ampatuan Sr. and his other sons, Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao Gov. Zaldy Ampatuan and acting Maguindanao Gov. Sajid Ampatuan are currently detained for their supposed involvement in a rebellion, which prompted the government to place parts of the province under a state of martial law.
Police have filed rebellion charges against more than 600 people.

Hope, these cases against to all monster groomed by their maker would not be a just a big block of ice that will melt,start dripping like water into drain just like any high profile cases that been handled went to nothing acquitted due of technicalities of some money talk justices.

Mr. Guerrero, tiyak na VIP si Ampatuan sa Prison gaya ng ibang mga privileged inmates. For one thing, he would argue that his life would be threatened so he has to have his own cell. Magpatayo lang siya ng basketball or tennis court okay na sa mga jail guards.

The Ampatuans’ lead counsel is the high profile Sigfrid Fortun. Balitang 40 ang mga abogado ng mga kriminal. Tulad ni Atty. Macalintal na abogado ng mga mandarayang kandidato sa election, si Fortun naman ay abogado ng mga kriminal. Needless to say, the legal fees are way above the market rate.
My sister-in-law’s rich husband is also being defended by Sigfrid Fortun of the Fortun Law Office. The case is Parricide. The case is still pending at QC RTC Court for many years and the killer is out on bail. My sister-in-law was shot and killed by the crazy husband inside their room witnessed by maids and yaya. Dinaan sa pera and influence kaya ngayon wala pang nangyayari sa kaso.
Bakit ihi lang. Asido kamo. Mas ayos sa akin kung very slow-painful death para kay Andal Junior.
Walang nakaisip na magdala ng backhoe sa DOJ preliminary hearing.

‘Look at your handiwork’: Journalists confront massacre suspect
A streamer made by the National Press Club showed photos of the Ampatuans and the murdered journalists with a message to Fortun: “Look at what your clients did to these mediamen.”
But Fortun merely replied: “Everybody deserves to have a lawyer. I’m just doing my job.”

Ang mga katulad ni Fortun ang isa sa mga dahilan kaya merong mayayamang walang takot gumawa ng karumaldumal na krimen.

Atty. Ernesto Francisco was first approached by the Ampatuan for legal service but he declined. Sigfrid Fortun accepted the case reportedly for P20M just for the acceptance fee alone. Paliwanag ni Fortun…lahat daw ng tao may karapatan kumuha ng abogado. Eto naman ang sabi ko: Lahat ng abogado ay may karapatan masilaw sa pera pero may mga disenteng tulad ni Francisco.
Lawyer-lawyer ay nakakagulo lamang, especially when it is obvious that the prisoner is guilty. Religiosity eye-for-an-eye helps make justice arrive faster. Para bang sa Iran. The obviously evil prisoners were denied lawyers. In fact, justice was final (slow, but final) — prisoners to death.

If I were the NBI agent guarding Ampatuan, I would put a bullet in his mouth when he yawns. Pansinin niyo ang mata at hitsura ng kriminal, halatang may diperensiya sa utak. If I were the defense lawyer, I would use insanity as defense. Baka puwede pang makalusot. Who knows, it could be one of the defense strategies the lawyer is considering.

Atty. Sigfrid Fortun showed his displayed of his high profile clients like Erap, Imee Marcos, Lacson, Dennis Roldan as if to explain that it was okay for him to accept Ampatuan’s case.
Naka-display sa kaniyang bahay ang mga sikat niyang clients. Well, I dare him to display Ampatuan’s photo. Sa ngayon, siguradong mababawasan ang kanyang mga clients maliban siyempre sa mga mayayaman na kriminal.
May isang kakampi si Ampatuan Jr. ang nagsabing parang siya si Kristo na dinumog, hinamak at sinaktan ng mga tao. Imagine, he was compared to Jesus Christ’s sufferings. Sino ang nagsabi nito? Ang ama niyang Ampatuan Sr.
Following the pagpapatawad thread, I also recommend that — because it’s Christmas time, this mass murderer Ampatuan should also be pardonned for his sins.
Again for that pardon to be effective, I believe Ampatuan should be allowed to be penitent and for his penitence I suggest he should drink several liters of acid and rat poison.
Yes, Ampatuan should pray “Our Father” 57 times for killing 57 people.
