A Prayer For Forgiveness For The Bandit Group Holding The Red Cross Hostages
O Lord, remember not only the men and women of good will but also those of evil will. And in remembering the suffering they inflicted upon us, honor the fruits we have borne thanks to this suffering — our comradeship, our humility, our compassion, our courage, our generosity, the greatness of heart that has grown out of all this; and when they come to the judgment, let all the fruits that we have borne, be their forgiveness…
Thanks to the Lord!
I hope that Messrs. Vagni and Notter will be the next ones to be released…
I knew it was coming. The bandit was going to release the only female victim who’s a Filipina and keep the other two male foreigners. The Abus know they could extract more dollars from foreign government.
Pardon me if I bring up this question: I’ve long been wondering if the past female victims were sexually molested or raped. These Abus are young and aggressive. They have no or seldom have female companions with them. They cannot come down from the mountain to date women in the town. So, it’s very possible that some particularly the leaders have sexually abused some of the female victims…and that include journalists like Maan Macapagal, Arlene De la Cruz and Ces Drilon. I can just imagine the trauma that they still carry with them if indeed they were touched. Days and months of captivity were too much of a temptation for these young bandits.
Let’s NOT Forget The Two Remaining Hostages!
Ransom would be given for the release of the two other foreign hostages. Wanna bet?
Allahu Akhbar!
Thanks to the power of prayers. God is good!!!

Let’s NOT Forget The Two Remaining Hostages!
… and the 3 teachers who were also kidnapped.
Corrupt officials in this evil government should be the ones kidnapped by the Abus. But, no one dares to travel to the south.
One thing I don’t understand is why these foreigners even if they belong to charitable institutions like International Red Cross insist on going to dangerous areas like Sulu. I may be wrong but could it be some of these foreigners are actually spies or intelligence operatives of their countries? Those who belong to Peace Corps, Amnesty International, Humanitarian and Medical Mission groups could be intelligence groups disguised as such to monitor some parts of the country. CIA is notorious in such activities.
1. Make an Advisory, “Go to Jolo or other part of Mindanao at your own risk” unless local government guaranty their safety
2. In case, there is kidnapping, “NO Negotiation” shall be observed all the time
3. Immediate military action, consider kidnap victims as collateral damage
4. No Political intervention allowed
May paiyak-iyak pa. Pwe!!!
What kind of negotiation is it when only the Abus are the ones exerting pressure on the government? The government should be putting pressure on these bandits as well. Imagine, the Abus are telling the government “Get out of our territories.” Since when did these Abus own the territories?
Also, why is the government only taking action whenever there’s a kidnapping? What are they doing when there’s no kidnapping?
BE,
Was she released or rescued? Mukhang iba-iba ang balita.
If it was a rescue, AFP and the government would brag about it. It was released for something we don’t know…perhaps advanced ransom money just like in the previous kidnappings.
be, you are right. The military’s management is not by objective but by crisis. The only time they move is when it is needed. In reality, the best time could be when it is not needed. They are too situational.
Or, are they being controlled by the government to add up its justification to declare emergency rule?
I suggest Sulu govt. officials to copy what the Davao City govt. officials did. Majority of Davao City residents are sick and tired of violence and is helping the govt. maintain peace and order for their prosperity. It will be beneficial for Sulu if Davao City Mayor Rodrigo Duterte can partake his experience in transforming the once notorious Davao City to a prosperous city.
You’re right BE, besides if its a rescue todas sigurado ‘yung dalawang naiwan.
Excellent poitn syria. Indeed our military is reactive, not proactive — very amateurish.
But I’m afraid I don’t agree with the way crazy Duterte runs Davao. A government cannot expect to annihilate poverty by simply murdering the poor.
It is safe to say that the young delinquents that Duterte is ordering murdered have become delinquents out of hunger. The solution to the problem is not by ordering a death squad to kill these young people. Duterte is no better than the Abu Sayyaffs in that respect.
Povery is the parent of revolution and crime — Aristotle.
Sometimes, we need an iron hand like Duerte to instill discipline, peace and order. Marcos’ Martial Law was successful in the beginning. Everyone would agree that his first three years were successful.
Press statement from the Philippine National Red Cross:
More from PNRC:
Don’t you notice that it’s the same people who negotiate with the bandits? Why is this Vice Governor’s name always come up whenever there’s kidnapping? That means she and other officials in that area know the bandits personally. Then, why can’t they convince the bandits to lay down their arms and make peace with the government and stop kidnapping innocent civilians?
Election time, thats the idea we must understand. The mere fact that the kidnappers have no demand of consideration, this is a drama to gain publicity for some wannabes. Crying in front of the tube can get a lot of mileage. Who knows this is a script for a Gordon and the vice gov tandem. No harm on the hostages, and their safety is guaranteed by the ‘IRC’ by ‘acquiescing’ to the pullout demand of the ‘kidnappers’. Thats to give a wide berth of safety for the Abus also to carry out their acts. Abangan ang susunod na kabanata.
Dick Gordon cried. What’s new? When he was ousted by Erap as SBMA Chairman, he also cried like a baby. Dick is soft after all.
I agree that this kidnapping may be a staged one by the wannabes. The vice governor seem to be be in the whole play. Mukhang “starring” role pa!
The fact that the two foreign abductees are not yet released, the captors are waiting for the “ransom” money. These kidnappers are directly dealing with the mother countries. They released Lacaba coz they do not expect any ransom from local sources.
Whats nexts for PGMA birthday this time? Chicken necks? or Red Cross necks?
To her: NECK NECK !
Lacaba was released after paying P5.5M for board and lodging.
Who paid for it?
Whom do we believe? The government or the Abu Sayyaf? Of course no victim would be released without something in exchange…and that’s money, plain and simple. So, we does the government still keep on lying?
