Ombudsman Merceditas Gutierrez may have filed more cases than her predecessor, Simeon Marcelo, but she has focused on the small fry and ignored the big fish or those who really need to be punished to deter graft and corruption.
Marcelo told a gathering of students at the University of the Philippines College of Law Tuesday that he indeed filed fewer cases when he was Ombudsman, but said these were the more difficult ones such as those of presidential friend and former justice secretary Hernando Perez, former AFP comptroller Carlos Garcia, and officials of the Department of Public Works and Highways who built the Diosdado Macapagal Avenue.
Marcelo spoke at the forum called “Insights from the Alumni,” which focused on providing UP law students with career choices. But he could not escape questions about the current Ombudsman, against whom impeachment charges were filed the other day.

Nani Perez was one of the big fishes but he was let go. If Perez was able to escape prosecution, how can this Mike Pidal, the Big Boss of the Pidal Mafia not be free?
All sectors are demanding for Gutierrez’s immediate resignation. May I remind the people that if her master in the Palace refuses to resign, why would she?

Chedeng only has until 2012 but if she is booted out, the new Ombudsman will have 7 years to protect the corrupt couple. This is a tough one!
Worse, if the Supreme Court justices who will be picked by the pandak are younger, they can protect the cases of the evil duo forever and ever. It is a catch 22 whichever way we look at it. Unless these new appointeesOmbudsman and Supreme Court justices) will change their tunes once the evil bitch is gone! This ia all we can hope for.
Bitche, let us see what kind of cases Chedeng will slap on Joke joke Bolate and crew. Let us also watch if she even does anything to the Legacy owner. We are closely watching her!
I still go for the impeachment. Matangggal lang ang isa para na iyang domino. Matutumba na silang lahat. Problema kung talagang may yagbols iyong mga magpapatanggal kay Maldita na halatang makapal din ang mukha! Dahil kung matinong tao iyan, di iyan sasabit sa mga Pidal no matter what!
BTW, dapat sinusundan ng mga protesters si Gloria Dorobo para di pagala-gala. Buti na lang may konting hiya pa sigurong natira kaya di nag-bikini. 😛

In fact, ganyan ang ginagawa ng mga bastos na pilipino dito sa Japan tulad noong nabigyan na nga ng decision ng Supreme Court namin na di puedeng magpatuloy na lumabag ng Immigration Law namin that specifically states that overstaying is a crime, ang kulit pa rin. Simeon Marcelo made a name for himself at the expense of Pres. Estrada. But during the Estrada plunder trial grave doubts were raised as to the guilt of Pres. Estrada. The dictum of “guilty beyond reasonable doubt” was never established. Thus Estrada as a “big fish” was never accepted by the people, the people believe more in Estrada. The Estrada trial ended up a political drama. So what is Simeon Marcelo yakking about. The real big fishes under his watch have all but escaped. And like Mercy d’Gutt only the minnows are caught and fried. One of the primary task of the ombudsman is to follow all leads in a criminal or corruption investigation. No matter where the leads end up. But in the case of Mercy d’Gutt she just sat on her fat ass and declared that there’s no case to file and try against the corrupt in government. Mercy d’Gutt is the antithesis of an ombudsman. She was not appointed by GMA to protect the public trust but was appointed to protect GMA and gang, period. And that is what FG just said “leave her alone for she is just performing her job and duties – of protecting us.” Impeachment of Mercy d’Gutt? FG has just sent the congress its marching orders “kill the impeachment case against Mercy d’Gutt”
