Appearing before the House committee on justice, he called on his colleagues in the House of Representatives to set aside partisan politics, follow their conscience and approve the fourth impeachment complaint against the president, saying the complaint has basis and is “invested with a higher sense of purpose to the public and to the nation. And apparently, on the same day he received the payoff, the then Speaker De Venecia said Ms Arroyo pressured him three times during a meeting in her Malacañang office to endorse the “weak” impeachment complaint filed by lawyer Roel Pulido.

We have everything we need to charge Palparan and his cohorts with some of the most heinous acts in our nation’s history. Did the Arroyo administration file charges and order the arrest of Palparan to show its adherence to the Constitutional provisions of protecting human rights and the rule of law?

All the speakers were okay. Rep. Satur Ocampo could have done better. He could not talk straight even when reading the documents. Among the speakers, I found his part a bit boring. Teddy Casinio was very impressive. The House Justice Committee knew they were in for a battle. Both Mat Defensor and Lagman looked sad while Co-Chair Raul Gonzalez Jr, the son of the old shit DOJ Sec, left early.
If we want to weaken our enemy, let us isolate them. If we are to isolate them let us deprive them of their allies. Besides, the GMA puppet government may not have wanted JDV to make any testimony against them at a time he still held the favored position as the speaker. They would have had a hard time managing the effect on the people perceiving a JDV testimony against GMA as credible since he still does not have any reason to turn against GMA with the favored position he held. Had he testified against GMA inspite of the position he was still holding and being sure of losing it afterwards, the enemies would have a hard time to explain how could JDV have chosen to testify and sacrifice his favored position. So they had to remove him as soon as they can so that with any testimony no matter how damaging against GMA, they can always say that JDV had to avenge his removal so he had to make damaging testimonies even if not true.
I can not judge JDV because I myself is even a worse sinner than he is. I can only hope to be also able to be given a chance to liberate myself from being a sinner to being able to love my fellow man and liberate them from misery.

Instead of responding directly to JDV’s allegations, Malacanang defenders could only say he’s sour graping; those are old issues, ZTE deal has been canceled. What’s wrong with sour graping? Is there legitimate reason or reasons to sour grape? What led to his ouster as Speaker and leader of his Party? Because he refused to obey the Evil Bitch’s orders? House Justice Committee Chairman Mat Defensor denied hearing GMA asked JDV to transmit Atty. Pulido’s bogus impeachment complaint. Defensor said he was there; but JDV said it was only he and GMA in the Music Room. Defensor as Committee Chairman should not be issuing such bias statement during the ongoing impeachment hearing. New Senate President Enrile also made a bias comment saying that JDV should also be charged. Presidential son Mikey the Horse said JDV is just launching his book; hence, the testimony against his mom. Expect Malacanang to use all its resources to destroy JDV. That’s what Malacanang is good at…money vs evidence.
Why now from JDV? It’s the words of JDV against wh*re Gloria and others, who do you think the power to be will believe? If wh*re Gloria, with solid evidences in tapes against her of fixing the 2004 election with “Hello Garci”, and the wh*re headed the coup against Erap, among many others, couldn’t touch the wh*re, why would the words of JDV will make any different now after all these years? At least a couple of things that I found to be stupid (I can’t think of any other adjective): First, he argued that GMA’s alleged attempt to commit fraud and other mistakes were not impeachable because she was not elected yet last 2004 meaning anything she did before 2004 was not impeachable. Even if I’m no lawyer, I find it a stupid argument. Garcia forgot to consider that the Evil Bitch was the incumbent fake President before 2004. She grabbed the power from Erap; so if we follow Garcia’s legal argument on impeachment, then the Bitch was impeachable. Second, how dare Garcia compare Gloria to Jesus Christ? If there were those who were victims of mob rule, it was Erap or even Marcos. Gloria’s assumption to office was a well orchestrated conspiracy long before Erap’s ouster. It’s really sickening. A provision to postpone the 2010 presidential elections and extend the terms of office for all elective officials has been inserted into a House Resolution currently pending before the House committee on constitutional amendments.
This was revealed Tuesday by human rights lawyer Neri Colmenares, secretary general of the National Union of People’s Lawyers, as he belied earlier allegations by the pro-administration congressmen when they defended their proposals to amend the Charter.
The chairman of the House panel on constitutional amendments, La Union Rep. Victor Ortega, himself initially denied that any of the bills and resolutions referred to his panel contained a proposal for term-extension.
“The term extension is merely talk, rumors or ‘chismis’. The committee has not received any resolution … for any extension of term. I can assure you that not one member of this committee wants to extend our terms,” Ortega said.
But when Colmenares produced a copy of House Resolution No. 550 filed by Batangas Rep. Hermilando Mandanas, he suddenly changed his tone.
“As far as the committee is concerned, hindi pa talaga napapag-usapan yan. Naka-refer lang pero di pa talaga nade-deliberate,” Ortega said, as he quickly backtracked.

During the impeachment hearing, Party-list Rep. Teddy Casino compared the manner of which impeachment was conducted which led to the ouster of Erap mentioning the SC’s decision based on news clipping among others. What Casino was trying to say was why would it not be okay to do the same to Gloria this time. See what they did to Erap? I mean Casino and all the militant groups that conspired with the other anti-Erap groups? Now, they themselves are finding it extremely hard to impeach Gloria because of their own making. They have credibility problems…these militant party-list groups. Furthermore, aside from Rep. Zamora who’s a brilliant lawyer but lacks the speaking ability like that of Escudero, most of the current pro-impeachment solons are not lawyers. They were up against veteran legislators and lawyers like Defensor and Lagman. It was a mismatch…hence, this impeachment defeat.
It’s not a mismatch debate between non-lawyer and lawyer-congressmen. The bottom line is how much money is involved in junking the impeachment complaint?

we need a very strong argument. For one thing, JDV must present his allegations on oath and his statements must be notarized. There’s one thing presenting the truth, and another thing presenting sound and good legal argument. That’s the way it is in legal battle which most of the Malacanang crooks are good at. The opposition lacks good legal representation. Atty. Harry Roque is not even a Congressman. JDV is not even a lawyer. Looking at the pro-impeachment line up, I think only Rep. Zamora was the lawyer.
