Mike, it was not Cory who brought down Marcos. Cory was just placed there in Malacanang. Marcos’ ouster was the work of several groups…a Grand Conspiracy.

Question came to my mind why JDV signed the impeachment complaint abroad. Why didn’t he do that in Manila or when he returns to Manila? Shy? Scared?

    b.e.

Correct, it wasn’t Cory “alone” who brought down Marcos from power but she was the rallying point of the opposition during that time.

JDV’s political career is over. What he does now is to support his son Joey’s political career. And at this time when people’s hatred for administration is at its highest, the smartest thing to do is to align with the opposition. and that’s what JDV is doing.

Mike, the turning point was Ninoy’s assassination. The opposition took advantage of his death.

BE, you are right. Marcos’ ouster was the work of several groups…a Grand Conspiracy.

Nestor Mata, a Malaya columnist wrote:

These grand what-might-have-been events in our history would have happened decades ago in the time of then President Ferdinand E. Marcos were it not for the insidious geo-political interventions engineered by certain key officials in Washington, D.C.

Marcos has done much more than all the Presidents combined. Yes, corruption was rampant in his time. But, tell me an administration or government that was not corrupt?

Marcos’ Bataan Nuclear Plant, Green Revolution, Masagana 99 and reducing US bases were among his achievements. Bridges and school houses were built.

With an Obama Administration, we hope Washington would stop condoning and spoiling the Evil Bitch. She has been so well protected by Bush for eight years.

Parroting a few words from Subaltz of late to me ” Sa tingin ko, angkop sayo ang sinabi ni Gen Lim….”Dissent without action is Consent
Pag-isipan mong mabuti yan.” I see the magnitude and swiftness of the conspiracy of the people then with the downfall of Marcos. But the action is very much wanting now if there is really dissent at all with the present situation.

…I wonder what the future will be for the Muslims in Mindanao..I wonder what role Malaysia will have in their quest for Ancestral Domain…will GMA pursue this and keep true her promise..her legacy to them?
…I wonder if she will get a chance finally to meet Barack in Washington on the 15th…
…I wonder if the newly wed Lulli will spend sometime a honeymoon in Washington DC..

JDV is doing a Rizal, using the mightier pen far away from his ravished wilted land and out of harm’s way.

  13. bitchevil bitchevil

Val, JDV cannot be a Rizal because he borrowed the pen from a Phil. Consulate personnel.

  14. Once Basic Holdings, which JDV, brother Oscar and son Joey owns, gets the service contract for oil exploration and farming-in of Reed Bank in South China Sea, Joey and JDV will withdraw. Bet?

    Val,

Parroting a few words from Subaltz of late to me ” Sa tingin ko, angkop sayo ang sinabi ni Gen Lim….”Dissent without action is Consent
    Pag-isipan mong mabuti yan.”…..Valdemar.

Knowing that the words of Gen Lim is now imbedded into your consciousness is good enough for me. I need not say more.

Just an observation…. I have noticed in the previous threads that we’ve been encouraging people of the likes of JDV to talk and speak out of the corruption that this Gloria governement has the propensity to do. We have have been lucky so far on some that finally mustered the courage. Are we now then going to discourage them by our own cynicism and skepticism?

The road ahead will be long and bumpy. Those who wants to go onboard should not be discouraged by the price thay have to pay. This we can do by mutual encouragement.

Buti naman at buhay pa si JdV. Let him talk than never.

  17. Ssshhh. (Whispered) JDV is the quintessential trapo. He will only respond positively when his political future is in jeopardy. Or if he feels he is losing his audience. Pure encouragement will make him play pa-importante, it may delay the action to a time only when the limelight starts to dim. On, the other hand, pure criticism will make him defensive and clam up. There must be a balance. He is a Pavlov dog.

The reason he’s talking again is because his weeks-long absence from media may make people forget him. The people’s attention is the politician’s drug. Sa showbiz, publicity whether good or bad is still publicity.

They say Luli raped the guy with the help of some PSG men. They tied up the guy and then Luli raped him.

  23. I saw the clip of the interview with Fr. Bernas. Golly, in-emphasize pa na ang dahilan ng pagpapakasal ng kamag-anak niya kay Lowlee ay dahil sa Sex and the City. Yuck! 😛
