Kasakiman

Walang makain.

This topic is very timely. Human by nature is discontented. Greed has caused many to commit crimes and suffer. That’s why gambling in any form including lottery is bad because of people’s greed for easy money, becoming rich at the expense of other people’s money.

Why do rich and wealthy people, who already possess the material wealth and comforts in life, still want to enter politics? It’s because of greed. Their intention is to protect their business and get rich even more through commission or pork barrel.

A person’s lust for money and greed can also be found in nations like China. In her desire to control the world market, China has resulted in producing low quality and dangerous products that have now caused so much concerns around the world. The US mortgage and banking industries are no different. They took advantage of ordinary people’s inability to obtain loans because of lack of credit by charging exorbitant interests. The top executives and big companies made a killing out of those questionable transactions. As a result, it’s the ordinary Americans who are now suffering.

  3. “Two strong earthquakes hit Luzon yesterday, but there were no immediate reports of casualties or damage, government seismologists said,” reports Daily Tribune.

Don’t you notice that every time Gloria Dorobo makes a blunder and brazenly tells a lie as when she tells foreigners about the success of her economic policy or policies that actually have caused the Filipinos to go hungry, a calamity happens in the Philippines?

Ang kapal talaga ng mukha ni Pandak. Imagine boasting of an economic boom amidst the poverty that have continuously caused Filipinos to seek employment elsewhere to survive. Ironically, it is the remittances of the OFWs that bouys up (?) Philippine economy or so the Pidal government claims despite the present world crisis.

Kawawang bansa! Nasadlak kay Gloria!

By the looks of it the evil of capitalism is revealed finally. China is a new convert and going strong. Russia has been long transformed and it has more billionaires in the making. The US business has the color of MLM and could be a subtle pyramiding. We have already perfected capitalism here. Some just collect our money in many ways right from our taxes, our budget, jueteng, tongs, etc. COMMUNISM, anyone?

  9. Why is it that when the poor steal from the middle class it’s called robbery and when the middle class steal from the rich it’s called embezzlement but when Pidal and Villar steal from the people it’s called insertion. And how can Noli De Castro
help the homeless when they’re never home and why he called homeless people homeless when the street near the riles is their home.

  10. Valdemar,
What do you think the communist regime of China is going to do with all their money that they are earning? The Chinese government is going to leverage their new economic strength to politically and militarily bully whatever they want throughout the world, just as they are in Nepal. Who is going to be next? Who is going to stop them? Currently, the Chinese government wants China to have a first world infrastructure, which is a noble goal, but what about wanting to annex the nation of Taiwan back into the Chinese fold through force? What about the lack of human rights throughout China?

The world is headed towards a global crisis. While no one knows what it would be like, we are almost certain that there would be one; in fact, we’re experiencing it now. Looking back at the 20th Century…During the 1st half, the world was torn by an economic meltdown and two world wars. And during most of the second half, we’re afraid of World War Three. Therefore, it’s realistic to say that we would experience one global crisis in this present 21st Century.
Are these present global financial crisis and milk scare the beginning of the global crisis?

But the Bible speaks of global spiritual crisis before the Second Advent of Christ as described in the Book of Revelation 13. More than economic and financial crisis, what we should be more concerned is the spiritual crisis.

What is happening now here in the US is a combination of corporate and personal greed. It’s corporate greed because just to maximize business and client’s base they eased up on screening and qualifications of borrowers which resulted in the meltdown when these clients failed to meet their dues. It’s the greed of the CEO, officers and directors of these houses that dried up the tills of these big companies by paying themselves with mind-boggling salaries and bonuses. These officers are being paid by playing and gambling with other people’s money. They are quick to claim credit and responsibility when they succeed and also quick to evade and shift blame to the market movements when things turned sour. And all because of greed and admit it or not, it’s only human to be greedy.

Investing is venturing into the world of the unknown. It is not a quick-get- richer mechanism unless you are a big and major player. The market movement is so unpredictable. You never know what’s coming. Becoming a player or investor is giving your full and unconditional consent to the investment house to play and gamble with your money. And so like gambling there’s no assurance that you are always a winner. So if you are not a risk-taker go for the guaranteed income terms. It’s better to play safe than sorry later.

One bad thing about to happen is the government’s proposed 700B bail out from taxpayer’s money. It’s those officers who make the most of the company funds and now the people are about to bail them out. Any way you look at it it’s not fair. One good thing though that came out and depending on how one look at it, it’s the best time to do business. Buy low and sell high. Prices of some stocks and houses are at the bottom level and not in the far future there’s no way to go anywhere but up.

The $700B bailout will not cause America’s taxpayers’ money, it would even push the US to another War to recover it. History has proven that the US benefited and made lots of money out of wars either directly or indirectly by selling military hardware materials. Already, a US destroyer is in Africa watching the Somalia pirates. The US would as usual use all the excuses to engage in a war to recover from their economic recession and financial crisis.

Why did the Republicans voted against the Bill when it’s the Republican President Bush who pushed for it? The answer is simple. Even those in the President’s own Party no longer trust him anymore. I’d love to see the same kind of opposition in our Congress against Gloria. I want to see her Kampi Party voting in favor of her impeachment and voting against her Cha-Cha. But, the Philippine is not America. American politicians care more about their citizens.

BE – I thought you would rejoice if America will beg for your help. With all your unti-Americanism. I was just trying to wake up your consciousness. As for me, we are okay here because we made it good in the stock market and got out before the Democrats started screwing it up. I said I will be helping people serving in the soup kitchen here in America. I realize there are a lot of Pinoys in America. We are only second to Mexico when it comes to immigration. But Pinoys do not participate in the electoral process and if they do they tend to vote with the Democrats with the same thinking “where they can get the most”. I realize too that is human nature or Pinoys nature. Bush was not involve in the cheating of Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac. This was the brain child of the Democrats so they milked it. During the Clinton years the U.S. economy was booming because he gave every black person loans even if they were not qualified just to make the U.S. economy look good. Remember Clinton was called the “Black President”? Please go to “gretawire.com” and see how the Democrats are perceive by the American people.

  45. Minus 777.68 to be exact. US gov’t now holds more than half of the mortgage market when it nationalized Freddie Mac and Fannie Mae. That cost the Treasury about $200B. It now owns 80% of the biggest insurer AIG. It has pumped in about a hundred billion in two weeks to loosen the very tight credit situation. Despite all that, the financials are still on the downward slope.

What assurance is there that this $700B rescue package will stop the hemorrhage? NONE! The majoity of Republicans and a few Dems rejected the bill because of that. The US gov’t is caught in a bind, it doesn’t know what to do. It’s so sticky even hardline capitalists and vocal free-market advocates are suddenly turning to government for relief.

Today Wall street lost over a TRILLION dollars in value. Because Congress won’t approve a $700B package.

    It’s crazy out there.

People have been conditioned to think that the stock market is an auction market, which is a big lie. The stock market do not depend on the supply and demand of the stock but it is based on how much the speciaist will make and the inventory of the stocks they have, a merchandising operation. The stock market is rigged by specialist, commonly called MM or market maker. They operate like a cartel.

Market Makers have their own stock trading accounts, personal stock investments, and omnibus account. All of these were used to their own advantage to steal people’s money. They are the only one’s who knows the price structure and volumes of stock at a particular price and the buy and sell orders. These Market Makers do not divulge the money that they made on those accounts even when there were US congressional investigations in the past about their manipulations of the market.

The market going south at minus 777 is indeed the biggest in history and has a big psychological impact but it only translates to about 7% of the exchange. The 1929 crash have 13% and 12% succeedings days of drops.

  49. kabute kabute

What do ordinary people who do not engage in the stock market care about what is going on. We ordinary people never made money out of the stock market, neither do we have money to play in the stock market. What we want is just simple, honest, and fair trade and dealings. No shenanigans and putting one over another. These market makers (MMs) are scums of society. They gamble other people’s money and make a pile and let the taxpayers carry the financial burden they have created. Yes it is greed-kasakiman.

    My Holiday with McCain

It was just before John McCain’s last run at the presidential nomination in 2000 that my husband and I vacationed in Turtle Island in Fiji with John McCain, Cindy, and their children, including Bridget (their adopted Bangladeshi child). It was not our intention, but it was our misfortune to be in close quarters with John McCain for almost a week since Turtle Island has a small number of bungalows and their focus on communal meals force all vacationers who are there at the same time to get to know each other intimately.

He arrived at our first group meal and started reading quotes from a pile of William Faulkner books with a forest of Post-Its sticking out of them. As an English Literature major myself, my first thought was “if he likes this so much, why hasn’t he memorized any of this yet?” I soon realized that McCain actually thought we had come on vacation to be a volunteer audience for his “readings” which then became a regular part of each meal. Out of politeness, none of the vacationers initially protested at this intrusion into their blissful holiday, but people’s buttons definitely got pushed as the readings continued day after day. Unfortunately this was not his only contribution to our
    mealtime entertainment.

He waxed on during one meal about how Indo-Chine women had the best figures and that our American corn-fed women just couldn’t meet up to this standard. He also made it a point that all of us should stop Cindy from having dessert as her weight was too high and made a few comments to Amy, the 25 year old wife of the honeymooning couple from Nebraska that she should eat less as she needed to lose weight.

McCain’s appreciation of the beauty of Asian women was so great that David the American economist had to move his Thai wife to the other side of the table from McCain as McCain kept aggressively flirting with and touching her. Needless to say I was irritated at his large ego, and his rude behavior towards his wife and other women, but decided he must have some redeeming qualities as he had adopted a
handicapped child from Bangladesh . I asked him about this one day and his response was shocking -“Oh, that was Cindy’s idea – I didn’t have anything to do with it. She just went and adopted this thing without even asking me. You can’t imagine how people stare when I wheel this ugly, black thing around in a shopping cart in Arizona . No, it wasn’t my idea at all.”

I actively avoided McCain after that, but unfortunately one day he engaged me in a political discussion which soon got us on the topic of the active US bombing of Iraq at that time. I was shocked when he said “if I was in charge, I would nuke Iraq to teach them a lesson”. Given McCain’s personal experience with the horrors of war I had expected a more balanced point of view. I commented on the tragic
consequences of the nuclear attacks on Japan during WWII – but no, he was not to be dissuaded. He went on to say that if it was up to him he would have dropped many more nuclear bombs on Japan . I rapidly extricated myself from this conversation as I could tell that his experience being tortured as a POW didn’t seem to have mellowed out his perspective but rather had made him more aggressive, and vengeful towards the world.

My final encounter with McCain was on the morning that he was leaving Turtle Island . Amy and I were happily eating pancakes when McCain arrived and told Amy that she shouldn’t be having pancakes because she needed to lose weight. Amy burst into tears at this abusive comment. I felt fiercely protective of Amy and immediately turned to McCain and
told him to leave her alone. He became very angry and abusive towards me, and said “don’t you know who I am” and I looked him in the face and said “yes, you are the biggest asshole I have ever met” and headed back to my cabin.

I am happy to say that later that day when I arrived at lunch I was given a standing ovation by all the guests for having stood up to McCain’s bullying. Although I have shared my McCain story informally with friends, this is the first time I am making this public. I almost did so in 2000, when McCain first announced his bid for the Republican nomination but it soon became apparent that George Bush was the shoo-in candidate and so I did not act then. However, now that there is a very real possibility that McCain could be elected as our next president, I feel it is my duty as an American citizen to share this story.

I can’t imagine a more scary outcome for America than that this abusive, aggressive man should lead our nation. I have observed him in intimate surroundings as he really is, not how the media portrays him to be. If his attitudes toward women, and his treatment of his own family are even a small indicator of his real personality, then I shudder to think what will happen to America were he to be elected as our President.

Where can you find a place that I placed $10 thou in one company after it split 4 times and got back $160 thou, Pretty good return on my money. TT, I was with Morgan Stanley since 78. Chosing a a stock broker is not about the company, to me its about who underwrites the stock that I want to purchase. I’ve used most of these brokerage houses before and I always got ahead and remember your stock broker can not tell which stock is good otherwise he or she will be reprimanded of “insider trading”. That is the law here and most of this brokers are like you and me “making a living” Being a CEO of a stock company is different. Most of them are given stock options and that is how they make a killing. Mike and Gloria have a lot of money in Morgan Stanley that they stole from the Pinoys…So America might be bailing them out too. That is probably the reason why Pandak was here in the U.S. last week. The U.N excuse was just a ploy.

  56. No offense intended but…

It doesn’t matter whether one is a Republican or a Democrat. Both parties are serving the same PuppetMasters.

Glueria, on the other hand, is just a puppet of a puppet.

So, for those who still love the Capitalist Economic System, the least that you could do (or wish) is a return to the Fixed Exchange Rate on Currency. The world physical economy is a lot less than what is on paper (bank notes, stocks certificates). Your betting on a losing game. This financial meltdown is long overdue.

It’s long been forecasted by the LaRouche Movement, who were mostly ridiculed back then. So who’s got the last laugh?

Dandaw, I just one simple question for you: Why didn’t most of the Republicans support the Bill? Was it because they didn’t want to be identified with Bush? Or they were afraid of their own constituents? Why blame it on Democrats when many Democrats supported the Bill? Bush, Paulson and the rest of the Republican wise guys should have known and anticipated this crisis long ago. What did they do in those eight long years? Unfortunately for Bush just like RP’s Evil Bitch, anything he does and proposes is viewed with suspicion and distrust by the people even if he means well. That’s the price he pays for being a war freak, liar, and many say cheated Gore.

  58. chi chi

That’s correct, SumpPit. The $700B bailout was Bush’s solution to the problem endorsed by majority of Dems and defeated by the more conservative Reps and 90+ Dems who got mails from their constituents that they don’t like taxpayers money spent to rescue the US markets. I agree with the citizens, there should be no cutting corners in bailing out the economy.

Bush panicked and so was Pelosi and Reid. Pareho din ang master, as you said.

  59. dandaw dandaw

Yes Bitch E, John McCain warned both houses of the perils of this bail outs long time ago. Did anybody listen? No because the Dumb/Dems are taking advantage of Freddie Mac and Fannie Mae financing their own candidacy. Barney Franks a Democrat said that there is nothing wrong with Fannie and Freddie. No oversight. Franklin Raines the head of Freddie or Fannie was the Democrats head huncho in that institution. Paulson said “the ship is sinking” we have to rescue it, we need both houses to cooperate. With the sinking economy the Republicans came to rescue the ship except last night Pelosi blamed the Bush Asministration for all the ills that her Democratic Congress created. So the Republicans and conservative Democrats almost rescued it but because of the big mouth of Pelosi, the Republicans and Democrats got pissed off. I believe those found guilty of any inpropriety should be punished but who will punish Obama when most of his constituents are Hispanics and blacks who will carry the votes without any knowledge what is going on. The Democrats will lie to their teeth and promise them change. “You see, we need hope, and we need change. And we hope of a change. And in change, there is hope. And hoping for a change is hope in change. And change for a hope is hoping in a real change that will change our hopes into real change for hope… He further said that “if you elect me as your president I will give you hope and I will give you change. You will give me dollars and I will give you hope that you get some change back from those dollars. That will be your only hope for change”.

  60. Dandaw,
Do you know that Treasury Sec. Paulson was largely a part of it, he knew the sky was falling. Just a year before he became secretary in 2006, he, as Goldman Sachs CEO securitized $68 billion in residential mortgages and $23 billion in “other assets” primarily related to cdos. The package he designed was seen as a continuation of the greedy manipulations of Wall Street angry people wrote their reps to reject it.

Way earlier, Newt Gingrich, passed legislation deeming it impossible to sue banks for mortgage fraud.

Just last March, McCain (probably coached by his economic adviser slimy Phil Gramm) spoke of MORE deregulation to “ease” the impending crisis.

Then in May, again this year, Bush announced he will veto a $15B bill to aid victims of foreclosures and another legislation that aims to provide $300B to struggling homeowners because it would “open taxpayers to too much risk”.

Someone has to tell these guys, party’s over. Pack up then leave. They’re no Democrats, by the way.

  61. dandaw dandaw

Slimmy Phil Gramm? You probably mean Chris Dodd, Schumer, Reid, Clinton, Pelosi, Barney Frake, too many to mention. Lets not make this our war. Remember the Democrats are also in power when this happened. Al Gore? if you happen to see him in Tahiti please tell him we need rain to help solve the global warming. Now, Al and Clinton are very much involved with global warming. Maybe you should put your money in their scheme. We just finished with our solar without even going thru their office. No, I don’t hang pictures of anybody, that would be poor taste when it comes to interior design.

  62. I have opened another thread on this topic. “More pabulum from Gloria.” Let’s continue the discussion there. Thanks.
