March 16:New date for Ateneo vs La Salle basketball for Sanctuary Fund

March 16 is the new date for this game for the Sanctuary Fund.

“Magkasangga sa Katotohanan” will feature players from the usually-rival schools teaming up with each other in a friendly game as a sign of unity for that “truth” that all of us are so desperately hoping to know. This game may be the only time one would see a player wearing a La Salle jersey passing to a player wearing an Ateneo jersey. This game seeks to show the country that even the worst of enemies can set differences aside in order to achieve a common cause for the good.

The game’s opening rites will be graced by Engr. Jun Lozada.

Game will take place on March 16, 1PM at the Araneta Colliseum. Ticket prices are at PhP 350, PhP 300, PhP 120, PhP 70, PhP 25. For ticket reservations, please call Ticketnet at 911-5555.

Proceeds of this event will benefit the Sanctuary Fund.

I was touched by the gesture of the UAAP’s considered most bitter rivals, the De La Salle U and Ateneo U to hold a friendly game aiming to fund the ultimate quest for truth in the midst of the howling grief the whole Filipino nation had been facing since the bogus administration of gloria arroyo grabbed malakanyang palace from a duly elected president. Also, the courage of PUP students in denying the puppet police of this regime in conducting a “set up” investigation regarding a bomb threat hoax is worth praising.

Never considered a part of any university or college having not finished a year from my former school and seeing the now generations of students join hands and hold each other in fighting for the truth makes me curse myself why I did not spend my brief student days as what the youth now are I can only throw them my hat for support.

Long live the modern day truth fighters!

    Mabuhay kayo!

“……as what the youth now are doing AND I can only throw them my hat for support.”

  3. THE STORY is told about a burglar who broke into a house one night. Unknown to him, it was the house of FG. As fate would have it, the two met each other in the dark corridor and they both froze in their tracks: When the scared burglar recognized FG he ran away shouting, “Thief! Thief!”

(Above story modified from the joke of Fr. Jerry Orbos)

It took Jun Lozada and today’s new groups of anti-Arroyo people to succeed in making this La Salle-Ateneo game possible. The two schools’ rivalry goes way back. During the NCAA days, violence was common between these two then once exclusive for boys schools. Not long agao, there were so called “Dream Games”. But never was there such a thing as La Salle and Ateneo players playing for one team against another combined team. This is the new beginning of a close relationship between the two schools.

  8. jun…padayon… go…lets get rid…

ateneo vs la salle: kahit bitter rivals yan, alam natin that they are HONEST. which is more than we can say for certain people in high places (hindi pwede mag basketball yun. lagi masusupalpal. liit kasi e).

  12. Yup, salamat sa Diyos for Jun Lozada! God bless the Philippines!

    Thank you kapatid.

  14. I admire both schools for linking up for a commendable cause. What saddens me is Jun’s own Alma Mater, UST, has not stepped up the plate. Sure, they had a mass with Lozada last weekend but this is way too tame compared with the actions they made during the former president’s impeachment. They demonized an alumnus, their college of law dean and their own legal counsel, ex-Chief Justice Andres Narvasa, to the point of displaying huge banners all around the España campus, just because his firm was defending Erap during the impeachment.

This time, its Rector, Fr. Rolando Dela Rosa OP, is all over the news sucking up to the Evil Bitch. Dela Rosa isn’t even as clean as Jun Lozada, whom he hints could be lying as a part of a scheme to blame everything on Gloria in order to oust her. Dela Rosa, who now advocates a 2010 exit for Gloria at yesterday’s Mass attended by Cory and Lozada, was removed as Rector for both UST and Colegio San Juan de Letran after irregularities in awarding contracts in the two schools. I can’t post the links but I am positive it has been published last week or the week before. He stiil sits as “acting” Rector for UST, though.

As they say, Gloria and Dela Rosa are birds of a feather. That’s the reason many felt uncomfortable with his homily yesterday.

Correct: ” “…has not stepped up to the plate”.

We’ll be doing greater service (not to any one person) but to our less fortunate brothers and sisters, and to God.

We can also be assured that we are not being used and manipulated by anyone or by politicians, who are equally as corrupt as the present administration!

Give the funds to the hungry and to the poor! That’s my cry!
