Siguro dahil 1 or 2 sizes bigger kasi ang sapatos niya (I noticed that she likes to wear big sized shoes, siguro to avoid sore feet) and of course, the effect when she wears stiletto heeled shoes that’s 1 or 2 sizes bigger than her real size, is they give her the appearance of a wearing flippers and also forces her to walk like a duck to prevent the shoes from escaping her feet.
I’m sure mahirap mag 4-inch stilleto heeled shoes that are not your size and keep a beautiful gait.

To my horror, CNN showed Trillanes’ latest megalomaniacal caper while we were on our meeting break. Footage of him mouthing off incoherent rhetoric in halting, broken English and of an armoured personnel carrier ramming the Manila Peninsula’s main entrance almost made me cower in shame. My colleagues from Australia, the U.S., the United Kingdom and South Africa started asking questions:
* “Why is the Philippines so unstable?”
* “Why is the media covering the rebels? Shouldn’t the government impose a news blackout in cases like these?”
* “Why is the government allowing the siege to continue for hours? Why not storm the hotel and arrest the rebels?”
* “Why are people milling around watching the events as they unfolded? Shouldn’t the entire area be cordoned off completely?”
* “Why can’t you get your act together?”
* “Why do you have short-term memory loss? Why are you so easy to forgive and forget?”
I had to hide my face in shame…I was so mad with the events back home that I couldn’t even think of defending my people and my country. Come to think of it, what we have is an indefensible and untenable position.

Wala kasing transparency, eh bakit hindi gumawa ng batas itong mga nasa congreso para mabawasan o maihinto ang ganitong paglulustay.

Usually the standard (LEGAL that is) broker’s fee for commercial aircraft is something in the order of 5 to 15% but in my experience brokers tend to take a drastic cut in commission particularly when there is a sure sale.
However, in the Philippines, that is impossible. The offer by the foreign supplier submitted to the local company or individual broker would remain the same (one reason is question of insurance, foreign company cannot jack up the price or insurance goes up too and drives up the price unnecessarily).
The local company or broker would submit their own offer to say, OP and depending on the number of people he’s got to pay off, DBM, Executive Secretary’s office, etc., etc., could easily submit a formal definitive offer on its stationery with a jakcked up price of almost double citing reasons among others, cost of money, bolts and rivets that are not necessary, maintenance contract that’s doubled, spare parts that are doubled in number, manuals whose cost would be doubled easily, etc., etc. blah blah blah..

In my opinion, while it is the practice to deploy the police to put down a suspected uprising in the metropolis, based on first hand accounts I’ve read, I do find that PNP Chief Razon’s stormtroopers went for overkill.
There were reports that Gen Barias personally went overboard too when he jabbed Sen Trillanes in the chest with his elbow. There are also unconfirmed reports that the young senator also was beaten up by elements of the CIDG.
This sort of police tactics will not go down very well among the elements of the military, rightly or wrongly. I dare say that this could cause more divisiveness within the rank and file in the AFP worse than Gen Esperon and Mrs Arroyo may imagine.
It would be good indeed if you could raise the issue of highhanded methods used not only on Gen Lim and Sen Trillanes but also on the members of media.

The best thing that happened was that not one life was lost and damage was minimal so it was highly commendable. Tribune reports that Trillanes, et al are going to be transferred to Muntinlupa. This should be protested by the bar associations in the Philippines because Muntinlupa is not a detention house. With the number of people the Mafiosa is likely to have arrested just to be able to keep her position, they should think of building more detention houses that should be under the supervision of the court, not necessarily the Department of Justice because it is more dangerous I believe to have them entrusted to the custody of the lunatic there who should have died during his kidney operation!

Yes, Trillanes may have not planned things through, or gathered strong allies that would really scare the thongs off GMA – because he’s too decent to do so. Hell, nobody even knew he would do it, because he didn’t ask for help from other officers. It was spontaneous, it was pure, it was true!
All throughout the event, I was talking to friends from both in the active service and private sector. I was so pissed off that I tried to convince some officers to resign, or prepare for another career, get out of the service, stop punishing themselves. There are detachment commanders in Mindanao that sleep on a sheet of plywood covered with a straw mat, (and they were “deans’ listers” in the academy), while some officers here in Manila enjoy airconditioned desk jobs, extra income, and get promoted faster to boot. Because I was so emotional at the time, I paid for everybody, even made a big deal about my credit limit, as it turned out most of them haven’t even seen an international credit card. I told them “I don’t have half the brains as you guys, if you take the plunge, you’ll do a lot better than I did!” Look at —-, he’s always taking remedials before, but he’s Vice President now. I wanted them to know that they had so much potential and are wasting them by serving this government. For a moment, I thought I was getting through to them as they were silent. Thats when our VP mistah pulled me aside and straightened me out. If these intelligent, decent, officers who are still willing to sacrifice and avoid corruption leave the service, who will be left? The corrupt, desk job, glamorized security guards – they will get to be generals for sure, as there will be no one else left and he was right. Foolishness is not the monopoly of the idiots I was talking about earlier, I am a fool at times myself.
There are still some decent officers left, one even limping because he was just recently shot in the leg, but still manages to crack jokes over beer and sisig. One day, God willing, and I pray the corrupt politicians in the commission on appointments will die of old age or gag with so much rich food – will not be able to stop the rise of these men to positions of responsibility, and change will eventually come. One day…

At the time of the Miranda-Lim-Querubin Edsa stand off, that was my main argument too for objecting to some bloggers who wrote that the officers should resign first before he makes his grievances known.
I object for many reasons but one among them was that these mand have a duty to their men — that to resign would leave their men without qualified leaders and expose them to those who are corrupt and when that happens the AFP would simply go to the dogs.

As I have said in an earlier posting when you asked me about the same dilemma. I had said that if I were Lim, I wouldn’t resign. I wouldn’t turn my back on my men by resigning my command in the face of the enemy. I wouldn’t surrender my men, my uniform, my rank and my command to the enemy. I also gave a couple of reasons why resigning would not be the recourse of the moral and the brave.
You must consider, DJB the one underlying reason for all this restiveness: the military is in a state of alert for obvious reason, that like it or not, the nation has been facing the prospect of a civil war for the last 2 years. The prevailing conditions therefore are extremely abnormal. And in such conditions, a military officer must call upon his moral reserve to help him solve a moral dilemmma.
Under these extraordinary circumstances, Lim drew on the moral tenet of the military oath: it is the guardian, protector and armed guarantor of the Republic against internal and external threats of agression. If Lim resigned, he would be turning his back against his oath of duty. We call that COWARDICE!
We must also consider how Lim resolved the huge dilemma that was facing him – it was not a spur of the moment (unlike Angie Reyes’ mutiny). As a soldier, a decorated fighter, an officer, a PMAer and a West Pointer to boot, he weighed the dilemma options – the moral duty of his rank and command to his country, to the Republic and to the Constitution, outweighed the “follow chain of command” tenet of the military.
Lim had identified the enemy of the State. To Lim, Gloria and her government are the enemies of the State; he accuses her first and foremost of having tampered with the elections and does not believe that she is the legitimate commander in chief; furthermore, and most importantly, he must have put on balance an equally and perhaps, even more damming criminal act – her having committed a far more serious crime when she willfully, wrongly, morally breached the chain of command in 2001; he accuses her of breaking that principle that you hold dearly, DJB and which you now defend: the military chain of command; he accuses her of continuing to breach cohesion in the military by willfully destroying the last remaining moral fibers that bind the military to its oath of duty by continuing to corrupt the military.
When a military officer with his record is forced to grapple with a dilemma of such proportions, he has no recourse but to call on his moral oath to be his guide and which he did.
By resigning and becoming a mere private citizen, he would no longer be duty bound to honor the same oath of duty a military officer has been sworn into (although why not but this is not the question). We must understand that following the chain of command is NOT the only principle that underlines a military oath and duty; it is not the overriding principle that guides a military officer with a superb career as his to do what he has to do. If George Washington and several other officers and soliders who were in the service of the Royal Armed Forces under of King George at the time had placed the military chain of command above and beyond their sworn duty, America would not exist today.
Angie Reyes’ mutiny did not have the same basis. As a military officer, Reyes does not have the same military record, never had, never will! Moreover, the circumstances were not at all the same: there was no election fraud, the impeachment was ongoing! The Constitution was WORKING!
Our Constitution is not working DJB. There are enemies, armed and not that are prepared to bring it down and with it the Republic and it’s people. The enemies are at the doorstep. Therefore Lim did the right thing in order to uphold his oath as guardian, guarantor, protector of the Republic and its people.
His error is that he failed in performing that duty!

You observed right. Those who are yakking and yakking about the Nov. 29 incidents are those who knew nothing about it and hindi nakapapel.
In journalism, we call it “naiwanan tulog sa pansitan”. It pricked their ego to be unmasked for what they really are, hanggang porma lang pala.
This is an interesting question about Lim and Trillanes siege on the PEN because there are a lot of different facets to the issue, and it is made more complicated by our feelings about the situation and the fact that some of us believe we were misled about there reasons. Here is a look at what I see are the primary possible rationales for walking out from judge Pimentel and how they hold up under scrutiny.
I am not a Trillanes-hater, but I do have a couple of criticisms of his judgment regarding the move and his threat. What would the motive be? Trillanes was a rebel soldier concerned with his own arrogant and ego, not a righteous zealot. He may have used charisma references from time to time, but the fact is, he was no friend to some traditional politicians,churches and elite society because his cause threatened there interest and power. So what else might have motivated Trillanes? He was elected senator. Revenge, maybe for Gloria and Esperon. Again it does not fit because of Trillanes character.He was not a stupid man, so he had to know that any link between himself and trespassing the Pen, would bring the gravest possible consequences. He also had to know his military experience had no hope of defeating the army of Esperon and the only result of any attack would be his own demise.
He think,he can change the government by fighting for the rights of Filipino for freedom and other economic reasons. Yes, many Filipinos suffered from Gloria’s rule either directly, through his continual, brutal suppression of human rights and disregarding the constitution, or indirectly, from the poverty brought on in part by years of corruptions and general economic disarray. Her effective governance plan never worked the way it was supposed to and for the most part, the ruling class of society remained unaffected while the lower classes suffered. I think this makes a pretty compelling argument for Trillanes in removing Gloria from power although his rhetoric move did not mention it much, if at all. Filipinos place a high value on there own freedom and in general wish for prosperity in life. Thus the Gloria administration emphasis on danger for their hope has declined somewhat while corruption arguments have become more visible. The people certainly were suffering from Gloria’s rule and it appears that they are suffering even more from the lack of a strong, stable government. Was this justify the move of Trillanes? Maybe, but we may never know for certain. At the very least we should have recognized that violence was not a very possible answer. Moreover, we know that historically, the differences of past EDSA’s have resulted positive with less bloodshed. Trillanes have failed because his calling didn’t reach the masses deaf ears and they are all tired and don’t care and there is no trophies for non-winners.Now,Who is willing to accompany Trillanes in jail? I hope someone in here can volunteer.I won’t!

my friend, intelligence is not measured simply by how many equations you can solve correctly, or how many facts and figures you can memorize.
Trilanes is being questioned for his judgement. decision-making falls squarely on a person’s intelligence, hence why people question Trillanes’ intelligence. what he did wasn’t the smartest move he could’ve done. and i doubt thermodynamics could’ve helped him in that situation.
or perhaps that was why he made such error? his intelligence only involving the ability to calculate thermodynamics and differential equations. pag dating sa praktikal na buhay, na bokya na.

Marcelino Teodoro is not part of the European tour of the PGMA. Cong. Marcy was stunned when he heard my brother asked him what he was doing in our area, when according to an article, which YOU wrote, he was part of the tour of GMA. Nakakahiya at nakakaawa naman kaming mambabasa sa ginawa ninyo. Ang totoo, si Cong. Marcy, he just shrugged off like a gentleman, laughed at sinabing baka nagkamali lang dahil may ka-apelyido siyang congresswoman. That’s why i verified through the internet the article that my brother read. Yung tao sobrang sipag mag-ikot, para magbigay ng tulong sa constituents niya, at eto pa ang balitang paninira sa kanya. Is this what you call responsible journalism? He was even in the news a day or two ago defending the rights of media people in the recent Manila Pen incident. Paanong kasama siya sa Europe? Lapses like this is undeniably unreasonable especially for a journalist like you.

Iyon po ang problema? hindi nagamit ni Ka Sonny (III) ang aplikasyon ng teorya ng Thermodynamics sa lipunan, dapat mag-aral muna siya ng “political engineering”, onli in d pinas. Na ang pagbabago’t pag-unlad ng isang bansa’y hindi nakasalalay sa iisang tao, ang lahat ay sangkot at kabahagi, maging ikaw man ay nasa antas ng mahirap o mayaman, masa o elitista, inteliktwal man o ordinaryong tao. Sa teorya ng Thermodynamics, ay walang latak… at ang latak ay maaring i-konbert sa panibagong enerhiya.
Tama, “tuloy ang ligaya” ng mga iilang ganid at nakakarimarin na Pilipino, ang rehimeng GMA, pero darating rin ang takdang-panahon, mayroong apat na senaryo lamang ang dapat na pagpilian ng sambayanan sa yugto ng pagbabago o manatiling nasa kapangyarihan ng iilang ganid at nakakatimarim na pilipinong gumagahasa sa kaban-yaman ng bayan:

Sinukat nina Ka Danny at Ka Sonny Boy, sampu ng mga kilalang personalidad ang budhi ni GMA, at iyon ay kanilang kinilala na kahit paano’y may pusong-mamon dahil bilang isang INA at babae, ‘eh kaso ang pusong-mamon pala ay napapalibutan ng mga bakal na mula mismo sa mga taong produktong mag-aaral ng institusyong PMA, kaya’t ang resulta ay maling kalkulasyon sa pagkilos ng tao, ‘eh ka nga, wala sa “timing”, marahil mali ang pormulang ginamit sa pagtatasa ng Differential Equation. PERO, sa punto ng pagbabago at sa linggwaheng militar, ang digmaan ay maraming bahagdan ng katagumpayan na tulad ng karanasan ng Dakilang Rebolusyong 1896, halos o mahigit sa isang daang digmaan bago ito ganap na napagtagumpayan. Katanungan na kailan kaya magaganap ang tunay na pagbabago’t pag-unlad ng bansang Pilipinas? para sa kapakinabangan ng sambayanan. Kailan kaya makakatiis ang sambayanan sa rehimeng GMA…? hay naku…!!! Ganunpaman, saludo po ako sa inyo Ka Dodong, at maging sa ating mga patriotikong kasundaluhan at sa mga rebolusyonaryong indibidwal na lumahok sa kaganapan sa Makati.
Ito’y isang panukala, at ako’y humihingi ng paumanhin sa ating mga ninuno, at sa kasalukuyang henerasyong Pilipino… nawa’y paunlakan ninyong “susugan natin ang huling kataga ng ating Pambansang awit- ang Lupang Hinirang, imbes na katagang “ANG MAMAMATAY NG DAHIL SA IYO” ay palitan na lamang natin nang “ANG MABUHAY NG DAHIL SA IYO”

Kung nagkataong nagtagumpay sila for sure solve ang problema.
