I just wanna share my observation about the online petition for snap election. I have already received one. But, reading those names signed and submitted, I can’t help but wonder if the petitioners are genuine. Kasi may nabasa pa akong pangalan na Mike Arroyo and the address given is Malacanang. That’s why I want to make sure the online petition is genuine or just another ploy to confuse the public.
I have already signed up regardless of who put it up and who are willing to sign it. Point is saan ipapadala iyan? I suggest that this petition should be sent to all branches of the Philippine government, kahit sa Malacanang, and then copy furnished countries donating ODAs, etc. loans to the Philippines.
The media should write about it as well. Hopefully, madaig nila ang number of signatories doon sa DH controversy.
October 28: This is Off Topic: I just want to congratulate Ellen on this anniversary of her blog..founded if I remember right Oct. 28. More power and keep going..We are proud of you.!
Ellen,
Here’s how a lot many OFWs now plan to put money into their mouths. Please allow me to post this here.
Subject: NO-REMITTANCE DAY – NOV. 1 & 2
OFWs call: Don’t send money home on Nov 1-2
10/22/2007 | 04:47 PM
For more than a week now, overseas Filipino workers have been spreading through electronic mail a call to stop sending remittances to the Philippines on Nov. 1 and 2 to dramatize their appeal to the government to address their concerns over the adverse effect of the strong peso on the value of their remittances.
“Gawin natin itong sakripisyo para na rin sa ating kapakanan,” said Dick Orense from Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates.
The call said that if they cannot avoid sending money home on these two days, they could do so through door-to-door remittance services.
The OFWs believe that avoiding to use the banking channels to remit part of their earnings to their families in the Philippines would substantially affect the dollar inflow into the country’s reserves and hopefully put pressure on the Bangko Sentral ng Pilipinas to promptly address their concerns over the strength of the peso against foreign currencies.
The other day I sent money to a project FCF supports in Tagum..$1,660 lang and the rate was only 43.35 thus it only came out to 71,000 pesos. how far can that amount go, I asked myself..they where for projects we fund to help disabled children..and when I thought of the 200,000 pesos that were given to governors and congressmen..nakakadismaya talaga. On Monday I will be sending funds for our projects in Guimaras and Cotobato..I have send it quite baka maging 42.00 na lang ang rate..sayang din ang differencia. Malungkot talaga.
Rose,
Remittance holiday is only for 3 days, Nov. 1 and 2. Experimental to see how unified the OFW can be.
As for myself, I don’t send remittance except when asked to contribute to some charity, and to pay our property taxes there. Kaya OK iyong remittances mo for charity. What they are asking for is remittances sent to families on a regular basis kasi iyan ang ipinagmamalaki ni Aling Kulimbat that helps bouy up her administration. Filipinos should sacrifice not to fall prey to her greed as a matter of fact.
Ooops, “Remittance holiday is only for 2 days, Nov. 1 and 2.”
Ellen, I posted something but didn’t come out. What’s wrong?
We’ve got to get realistic about this on-line petition and what we’ve got if we’re going to be effective in any way; our country is going to implode from within eventually, and if we’re going to ride that wave we’ll need our wits and let’s all sign.We need to put our heart where our mouth is; that the Internet is the last bastion of truth-telling. For the meantime I will keep looking for the pony in the horseshit I have a feeling that this won’t reach the first base which is a real possibility I can’t think of anything standing in the way of the Punggok and Esperon ego and their push to dominate the opposition. The fates may be kind and we’ll avoid such a pass, but it won’t be because of anything we do nothing we do matters, at this point. We aren’t represented. Period. Not of the Tongress and the senate, eleven million of us that voted for Trillanes just got block “Supalpal” by military rule of Esperon.
We need a new unifying opposition figurehead first and we need it quickly. We’ve become a Banana Republic and we need to behave like a monkey do when opposing a dictatorship of Punggok. Since we’re not sure inside Erap’s brain, In a time of closure with the past, that would seal the deal and tally the books. He says he’s given up on politics and who could blame him? Lacson seems to be the only Big Dog with a vision that I can bet my piggy bank, He has a sure ability to cream the opposition. He’s one of the few people in our country that talks like a grown up “Alam ba ni Misis Tho”he captures our imagination. Who could stop him?
Pechanco, please stop being quarrelsome. You remind me of Npongco and Goji.
HG, I didn’t see any comment of yours for moderation. Try again na lang, please.
Yuko, please just link the news item. I don’t encourage posting of long articles from other publications here.
You may also e-mail me. I’ll see if it’s worth posting here.
Get real. It will never happen the way it happened in the past. The situation is entirely different than it used to be, there are no longer US bases to protect and no mass movements in the streets. The US still gets what they want from Gloria in the form of the Balikatan, that is the most important to US. Who would like to have a snap election? The majority? I dont think so. As long as the Mayors, Governors and Congress are still within Gloria’s skirt, forget about this petition.
Pechanco was right in his observation, you can never tell who are behind this petition.
Rallies are things of the past, noong araw wala pang masyadong OFW, so maraming tao na available. Noon walang text, at saka email.
He had his chances of being great before, but he ignored them.
Bunch of hypocrites…so says Ninez Olivares.
Penchanco, Ninez is also a favorite of mine and i always agree with her arguments and sentiments. I consider most of her analysis brillant.
brilliant, it is!
useless ung hindi pagpapadala ng remitance s nov 1 and 2 dahil holiday s pinas un
2nd Birthday ng Ellenville. Happy Birthday!
Thanks very much, Ellen.
Happy 2nd Anniversary Ellen,
I don’t care which side they are with but I hope they would be more consistent. Most wrote favorably of Erap and even demanded his release using him to attack GMA. Now that Erap has been pardoned biglang magsasabi na hindi daw sila kay Erap o GMA.
What I will propose is to send all the money now through door to door, then send nothing in December. Make sure you inform your beneficiaries of what our inetntions are, i.e., to pressure the BSP to intervene in the Peso-Dollar echange rate. Tipirin ang padala ngayong buwan and do not remit through the official channels (bank-bank).
i just read the signatories in the on-line petition for snap election. is this for real or it’s just one of those diversionary tactics by the malacanang spin doctors? ang dami kasing mga pangalan dun na peke. kung totoo man itong petition na ito sana naman iyong mga ibang tao huwag nang pumirma kung panloloko lang ang gagawin nila. these people should not make a mockery of our democracy.
So, it’s not only me alone who’s cautious about the people behind this online petition. Many of you do share my doubt and fear. But what do some say? Regardless of who’s behind the petition they still signed or would sign.
I saw one in the name of Mike Arroyo with an address in Malacanang. Online petition sometimes is similar to the chain letters we receive. Hindi natin alam ang source. Assuming that many signed the petition…so what? What’s next? Can you compel GMA to call for a snap election? She will never do that. She has learned the lesson from Marcos who was trapped into calling for snap election.
pagpupugay…
Whereas the petition was formulated by an opposition figure, and Mr. Trillanes at that. So even how open minded I am to the possiblity of a snap election, I would never sign a petition coming from him, unless he prove his allegations first.
Whereas..okey OA na , why is it that we dont want Noli to lead if Arroyo was ousted?, hindi ba hypocricy yun sa kabuuan ng konstitusyon? These people like the opposition and journalists always want to dictate whats good for us, we have a constitution to do that, and that is where we need to base our next move. We claim that we are for truth and justice, ni hindi nga natin kayang sundin at respetuhin ang batas. If gloria does not respect the rule of law, it is not reason for us to do the same just to get back at her. Be diplomatic people, wag tayo push-over.
“No – Remittance Day – Nov. 1 & 2”-what a crap
When I was still a student here in Tokyo, I am regularly sending money from the overtime pay I got here while studying, and even until now that I graduated and got a job I still do the same. And I guess I would have been the first one to complain. But for me, why should I complain? The strength of the peso indicates the economic gains brought by economic reforms, it may be bad news for us working here in abroad I admit, but it would be beneficial for the general Filipino people in the long run. I guess you can call it sacrifice, but I would be willing to do it just to give my part for the rebuild of our nation. This is our chance to prove to all the people arround the world what Filipinons are capable of.
I know the people behind the online petition for snap election. If forces oppose to it try to sabotage it, there is always a way to screen them out.
But if you don’t believe in it, that’s your right.
duren :
The strength of the peso exchange is not being felt by the masses. The dollar’s decline is not the result of the peso’s strength, or the Philippines’ economy for that matter, but due to the continued slide of the dollar against all currencies. Mahina ang economy ng US ngayon due to the recent housing loan/mortgage debacle.
broadbandido – salamat sa reply sa comment ko
I just want to point out some facts. Sa sinasabi mo na pataas pa rin ng pataas ang bilihin, oo totoo yan, because we have inflation. Kahit saang bansa inflation exist, but at the current pace, the Philippine inflation is at its lowest in years….only ranging from 2-3% compared to average 5-7% in the past.
At sa sinasabi mo na mahina yung dolyar, yes tama din iyan but it is not the only force that brings peso as the top climbing currency in asia for 3 consecutive years. There must have been some other factors or else the appreciation of the peso would only be in mediocre compared to others. And that is the investors bullish sentiment to our current economic reforms, and the OFWs remittances, wag nating kalimutan yan.
Off topic ulit ako.
Why was my 6 comments moderated in the other loop? Was it because I was attacking one person here na gusto ikalat ang relihiyon nya? Or was it because I mentioned the word “bakero” which only means stupid in Japanese? If that is the case bakit hindi minoderate yung mga pagmumura ng isa dito na gustong ikalat ang relihiyon niya, ironic—(please refer to my compilations in the other thread). Unfair ata ito ah….akala ko for truth and justice ang blog na ito?
Kung inaatake and tuta, tudo depensa ang amo…..basahin nyo na ito bilis bago pa i erase ulit.
Duren;
Do you really believe this figure is true. Sa dami ng hocus pokus sa gobyerno, where are you going to get your info. I remember yung figure ni Gloria about classes and the number of students in those classes. sino ang magsasabi what is the most condusive number of students? IN the end si Gloria pa din.
May time talaga na mahirap mag-post dito, parang may humaharang.
pechanco, di lang pangalan ni pidal ang nandun, meron pang george bush at tofisto gung-gongna. meron pang fil-canadian na nagmumura. kung minsan iniisip ko na lang na may nagsasabotahe nitong online petition na ito. and you’re right pechanco, gloria will never resign or call for a snap election. she much more cunning and evil than marcos
Ellen:
It was posted in a moderated site, and cannot be linked. That was why I took the liberty with your permission to post the call to the OFW for this experimental boycott of a program the Aling Kulimbat take pride of bouying up her greedy government. There was actually not much time more to call on all 8M OFWs to heed this call that was why I took the liberty to post it here. Sorry about that.
BTW, Ellen, your blog was inaccessible for hours. I was out on the train and checked your blog. Could not access it, and thought there go the crooks paying lip service or under payroll of the criminals squatting at Malacanang attacking your blog again. Tindi talaga! Sick!
Petite:
What can you expect? Kawawang bansa!
Anyway, kahit na pumirma ang mga creeps, the more the better. Wala naman silang niloko. Mas maraming signatures, the better.
Pag-download ko ng petition na iyan to give a copy to the people in charge of ODA in Japan for instance, maraming pirma, OK!!! Basta nakapirma. Ang mahalaga ang text ng petition.
I plan to send a copy likewise of the said petition to my favorite Senator of California, Senator Boxer, and Congressman Pete Stark of our district in CA.
You can do the same as a matter of fact. Kani-kaniyang banat na!
“the Philippine inflation is at its lowest in years….only ranging from 2-3% compared to average 5-7% in the past.”
**********
The base year used by this statistics fudging government is 2000 (Central Bank, September 2007. The base year for the US is 1982-84 (Bureau Labor Statistics, US Sept 2007).
In other words, you are comparing your purchasing power to what your money could buy seven years ago. The Americans are comparing the purchasing power of their money to the time when duren was a baby.
Ganyan kadali magbawas ng inflation rate. I-abante mo ang base year.
If you compare your money today from its value yesterday, walang movement. If you compare it to your grandfather’s day, pulubi ka.
Talagang doctor of economics yang presidenteng yan. Dino-doctor ang economic data.

“Talagang doctor of economics yang presidenteng yan. Dino-doctor ang economic data.”
Well if that would be the case, shame on her.
But kahit na sabihin pa natin na binabase yung statistics in different year base, the fact that the Philippines has been using it even during the time of Estrada 7 years ago, it would still be consistent to say that the inflation has gone down di po ba?
At isa pa, if we doubt the ability of a certain body na naglalabas ng statistics, din we also doubt the 7.2% economic growth. Kung titingnan natin we should even be proud of this, kasi hindi ito gawain ni Arroyo, tayo ang gumawa nito….this is what I have been pointing out all this time na napaka pessimist natin, we are capable of this improvement believe it or not. We should embrace that figure kasi tayo gumawa nyan, hindi si Arroyo and even try our best to improve further.
I translated what you wrote above into Japanese and showed it to my husband. Napanganga, and asked who did that claim.
I don’t want him to have bad impression of UP, that’s why! Bagay, UP was no university for the bobo de la yuca during my time! Ikaw, Atty, how was UP during your time? 😛
“it would still be consistent to say that the inflation has gone down di po ba?”
*************
Tama, gone down, compared to what? What you could buy seven years ago and what you can buy today may be the same.
But the Americans are comparing their money to the money of their parents before the 1992 (Bush I)recession, 1996 Asian meltdown, and the 1984 inflation of Reagan.
The peso has devalued markedly from the time of Macoy to Cory, to the present. So if you say mas mayaman ako por hora kay Daddy, you are fooling yourself. How many kilos of pork or gantas of rice could a minimum wage earner buy in 1985? How much can the minimum wage buy now?
That is the crucial question to the jeepney driver; irrelevant to one like you, earning Japanese yen.
Duren:
To use an analogy, an old man is comparing his white hair from the time he turned 58 to the time he turned 60. Konti ang movement hindi ba? A few percentage points.
Pero if he compares his white hair from the time he was 23 to the time he turned 58, malaki hindi ba?
That is what happens when there is constant growth (like Philippine inflation). Mahirap mahalata when there is little time, but madali paglumaon ang panahon.
How does your father look like now, compared to last year? walang pagbabago hindi ba? Ask his playmates, and they will probably say to each other, “pare, gumugurang na tayo.”
But I will not argue the differences of money value now compared to the past…elementary yan eh, alam lahat nag depreciate yung peso. The fact that I am pointing eh bumaba ang inflation rate…kaya please wag mag insert ng ibang topic such as the value of the peso.
– broadbandido
broadbandido – magandang gabi po sa inyo. Sana nga po ganyan ang nagyari, but no. The comments were already posted and I know some have read it and it was 6 comments…kaya ako nagtataka.
Kung ganun pala dito, dapat nung una palang na nagreregister kami ng account, there should have been an option like: Are you an anti-GMA, Pro-Trillanes, Pro-Opposition, anti-government? Pag sumagot na Yes, i accept nila….pag no, wag nilang papasukin, ganun lang ka simple yun.
duren :
I disagree with you just posted. Ellenville is not moderated based on whether you’re pro or against the unano of the enchanted kingdom by the stinking river.
Ms. Ellen, please say so!
*I disagree with WHAT you just posted*
Sorry, nabulol hahaha
broadbandido – pasensya na, I was just disappointed. I retract my previous statement.
broadbandido and all,
patutunayan ko na hindi moderated ang Ellenville based on pro or against the unano.
Chi..mawalang galang na po…does the hacking incedents had history of deleting comments? I have reviewed it and some people even replied in relation to my statements which proves na naka post sila lahat. Basta bigla nalang sila nawala hours after I posted them.
atty: thanks for pointing out many relevant factors re the real state of PI economy. I used to teach and what I find younger folks today is they talk too much without looking back at what was before..hala bira..datat ng datat para mapansin..maraming KSP, maraming may AIDs (Acute Identity Deficiency Syndrome) and that seems to be the life style..make more noise.. e.g the music? with regard to statistics used..hindi ba may kasabihan na..figures don’t like but liars can figure? hindi ba maykasabihan na..”silent waters run deep” or a barking dog seldom bites?” or an “empty can makes more noise?” and experience makes better teachers? When I say “looking back” it is NOT to mean that we should not move forward..let us think back to move forward..hindi ba may roon din kasabihan and I think in military parlance..take one step backward and move ten steps forward..hala bira!
Duren, I tolerate different opinions in this blog. Even those that are opposed to mine. There is no such thing as pro or anti.
But I won’t allow anybody to use this blog to ridicule. Your comments that I deleted were ridicules. It didn’t contribute to a healthy discussion.
With regards to deleting comments. Ellen has all the rights to delete comments, BAHAY NIYA ITO.
Marami naman blogs diyan na pwedeng makisali, why insist on getting in a blog when we fell na iba ang trato sa atin or pinagdududahan natin ang motibo, di ba?
Some said that “mas” matalino si GMA kay Marcos.. I honestly don’t think so, kahit may doctorate siya..sa tingin ko “mas” maitim ang budhi niya “mas” demonic siya, “mas” wala siyang konsensiya “mas” alam niyang mabili para ipagdasal siya sa lahat na relihon..in short (shorter than 4’11”) mas tuso…
Tama si Chi;
there are times na mahirap talaga pumasok dito. kahit gustong gusto mong mag contribute. Moderated o hindi i think it is up to us to be responsible to what we put on writing.
There shoudn’t be any place for excesses here or in any blog, lest we be put to shame.
Rose,
Let’s put talino min its proper meaning.
Akala ko pa naman eh maraming kahanay sina pachenco at kagalang galang na AdeBrux in being open minded, i add ko na rin si broadbandido na hindi nang-iinsulto …it seems i should retract a lot of my previous statements today.
To Ms. Ellen, if that is your explanation I accept it. I just need some answers. Salamat po.
i personaly dont think this petition for snap election will prosper albeit the excitement of having a credible one. The ones inpower will never yield them. Besides congress doesn’t have the guts to go against the midget, they’re afraid for their very own existence.
A lot of my friends at UP told me that the DPhil granted to the unano was bought. Kahina-hinala daw. Tama ka. Di hamak namang matalino si Marcos. Hindi iyan na-reject sa UP.
As far as his scholastic achievements are concerned, walang daya at walang hocus-pocus o retoke iyon. Maski nga yata honoris causa, ayaw siyang bigyan! 😛
It reminds me of the wife of a baseball coach who ran for an office and tried to impress voters with false claims of being a graduate of Columbia U in NYC. May nagbisto, nadisqualify on the basis na nagsinungaling sa kaniyang credential, at naparusahan. Nabigyan ng suspended sentence at nagbayad ng fine!!!
Dapat ganyan din sa Pilipinas! I won’t take justification from crooks that Japan and the Philippines are like comparing apple with orange.
Dating Olympic figure skater.
Chi,
Hindi ko alam kung gaano kaitim ang budhi ni Marcos, but come to think of it, my mother was rather cautious to own relationship with him because of the Nalundasan case. Bata pa kasi ang mother ko noon and it was hot news daw sa bayan nila.
When Marcos ran for the presidency, an uncle tried to recruit my siblings and me to help in his campaign. Doon namin nalamang tiyo namin siya. I remember us receiving IDs but we were not able to use them because we had to leave for the US.
One thing I am sure, though, is that Marcos loved the Philippines more than any of these presidents after Garcia!
“One thing I am sure, though, is that Marcos loved the Philippines more than any of these presidents after Garcia!
Base sa mga nababasa ko sa history……i think a agree with the statement above. But all those facts are overshadowed by the fact na binaun nya sa utang ang Pilipinas at sya ang kauna-unahang diktador sa bansa.
Alam ko bata palang ako sa panahon ni Marcos but I read history so I said my opinion anyway.
Chi: You are right..”talino” meaning intelligence in the strictest sense of the word walang wala si GMA kay Marcos..
“wise”? in its lowest form..as in kanto wise?, palengke wise? basura wise? I found the right word..basura wise..in computer language…garbage in garbage out!
Duren: speak for yourself my dear..ang sabi ko ” younger folks” kaya marami ang hindi kasama..bata ka pa nga! and this maybe a very bias opinion from me Ellen allows all of us to write our opinions..right or wrong..ang sabi nga ni Charlie Brown..”you are entitled to your own wrong opinion”
but I don’t mean your opinion is wrong duren..Peace!
Off-topic, but Malaya reports that foreign investigators backs up daw iyong gas explosion. Now, sino ba ang naglabas ng terror blast? Di ba iyong mga tuta ni Pandak?
Kahit anong sabihin nila, bomb blast or gas explosion, nagawa ni kulimbat na ma-deviate ang attention from the ZTE/NBN scandals, etc. kapalit ng buhay ng mga inosenteng pilipino.
Kahit na anong sabihin nila, may nasawi sa ginawa nila. Hindi iyan dapat na palampasin. The culprits should be punished by all means!!! No pardon for murderers as a matter of fact.
…foreign investigators back up…
Chi: if I may add..”garbage in, garbage out” walang wala si Marcos kay GMA..makasimba na nga..ang lapit lapit ng simbahan madalas late pa..Ako Ay Pilipino comes a handy excuse..btw nanawagan ang “ating” (that is for you and me), mga obispo na mag rally daw for GMA’s (I wonder if GR as in GRRRR! will lead) resignation..nagpapatawa talaga..
duren; Ellen does not moderate entries…I don’t know your time difference..but I find it most difficult at 10:00 pm my time which is 10:00am their time. With regard to the hacking incidents..it happened many times here because Ellen is “borrowing your words” pro Trillanes and Anti GMA..
Please check again the http://www.petitiononline.com/snap08 – the questionable/doubtful/fake petitioners have been crossed out, their lines are either voided or their signatures rejected. Thanks!
Lumalakas ang piso? Sinong may sabi?
Bickering daw? No way! Sabi nga ni Rose, sabi ni Charlie Brown, “I am entitled to my own opinion, take it or leave it!” Bwahahahaha!
Come to think of it..why would GMA resign? why would she step down? She cheated..and inagaw niya kay Erap..ang pagka pang gulo niya..pinaghirapan niya “to lie” sana flat on her back sa isang box, to allow killings, she would not just give up that easy…hot as the issues maybe dadalhin niya ang lahat nang mga ginawa niya..at baka mas mainit pa ang pupuntahan nila.magbarbecuehan na lang silang maganak at hindi lang well done..cremated pa..
Same observation here, Rose. I actually have posted my observation a lot of times about this hacking time. Nabisto pa nga ng mga cyber barkada ko ang mga spyware na kumakapit sa PC nila kapag nag-blog dito at kapag may spyware, the more hindi makakapasok. Pirmi nga kaming naglilinis ng PC to prevent getting those viruses, bugs and worms deliberately being distributed to anti-GMAs.
Buti na lang nga I joined a monitoring program ng mga ganitong hacking para sa implementation ng Net Law ng Japan. Kaya nga nalaman kong posible ito.
I recommended to my cyber barkada to install a real effective virus buster and spyware cleaner like AVG, Adware, etc. for the safety of their PCs. Ingat lalo doon sa mga nasa Pilipinas!
Juan dela Cruz,
What is your criteria in rejecting signatures?
Thank you.
Happy Anniversary, EllenVille!
BTW, folks, magandang gamitin for complete cleaning of cookies, etc. ng PC ang BCWipe.
I am not receiving anything from these companies of products I have recommended as a matter of fact, but I have found them very effective. Worth sharing as a matter of fact.
You can download the trial versions from http://www.download.com or http://www.zdnet.com You may try to volunteer as a tester if you have advanced computer knowledge to get free copies. I have done such for the earlier versions as a matter of fact.

A petition is voluntary. If you disagree with it, just don’t sign it. Period.
as an ofw here in the middle east,we get the biggest blow with the current exchange rate.it really spells a big difference to us here.thats why most of the nurses esp. here in ksa transfers to the UK/US for a more better future for our families.
Yuko, I think you should take positively Vonjovi’s advice.
Anyway, let Erap enjoy his freedom…everyone is entitled to his/her choice.
But I’m a realist, too. After 7 years in a luxurious prison (preso pa rin) and 70 years old, I would rather see him enjoying the world.
Umiikot ang mundo and so are the events.
vonjovi2.
I already signed the petition since the moment Ka Diego informed Ellenville about it.
As one working for the court, police and bar association in Japan as interpreter/translator cum paralegal, madali kong makita ang kapalpakan ng ginawa niyang deal sa isang kriminal.
Diyos mahabagin!
`Plan C na ba iyan? Ano ang susunod na plano?
Excellent point!
Vonjovi2:
Iba ang kinalakihan ko no doubt. I know God will not allow without me achieving or accomplishing what He has in fact prompted me to do.
You bet, hindi ako duwag lalo na kung alam kong wala akong kasalanan, because to tell you frankly, Vonjovi2, kahit na sabihin mo pang walang hustisya, ako naniniwala sa mirakulo ng Diyos lalo na hindi naman mga atheists ang mga husgado sa Pilipinas sa palagay ko! Takot lang mawalan ng pera, maybe!!!
Faith can move mountains, sabi nga. Walang hypocrisy iyan! Take it or leave it, sa maniwala ka o hindi, I lose nothing, not even my faith in God!!!
I also join the rest in wishing Ellensville a Happy 2nd Birthday !
It just dawned upon me (maybe too slow ? hehehehhh)..Gloria is once again diverting our attention away from her & made us focus on yet another issue called The Erap Pardon. Maybe for now, we should just treat this Erap Pardon as a diversionary tactic & deal with it some other time..After all, the problem is Gloria; the issue is Gloria; the enemy is Gloria. Let’s keep our eyes on the ball & focus on Gloria. Let’s not be fooled (or had !) again & again by her dirty tactics. Let’s stay focused until we vanish her from Malacanan.
Yes to Snap Elections !
An OFW here:
When the peso was hovering in the P52-P53 region, I was personally worried because I thought, the peso’s purchasing power was weak. Being the only OFW in the family, my concern then was how much my other siblings can purchase given that they earn pesos.
Ngayon namang mababa ang palitan (partly because the peso gained some strength and mainly because the dollar had been extremely weak), I normally expected the peso to have stronger purchasing powers. Unfortunately, that did not turn out to be the case.
A few days ago pa ako nag-sign for Snap Elections.
Ako, I try to understand Erap’s position. Siguro, to do it, kailangan lang natin sagutin ang mga tanong na ito: If you were in Erap’s situation, how would you behave; what would you do?
Chabs,
Agree ENTIRELY: “… the problem is Gloria; the issue is Gloria; the enemy is Gloria. Let’s keep our eyes on the ball & focus on Gloria. Let’s not be fooled (or had !) again & again by her dirty tactics. Let’s stay focused until we vanish her from Malacanan.”
There is a thread on Estrada pardon. Those who have not gotten over that issue, you may post your comment there. This post is about the petition for snap election. Unless it’s necessary, we should confine our discussion to that.
Basta ako pumirma dahil naniniwala ako sa petition “resign GMA and Noli de Castro” for snap election.
How Glueria came to be?
1. The non-opening of the Second Envelope caused the WalkOut.
2. The Impeachment WalkOut caused EDSA2.
3. ERAP gave-in to EDSA2 pressure, abandoned the 11 million plus mandate.
4. Supreme Court called it “constructive resignation”.
So who’s to blame?
1. The senators allied with ERAP who did not allow the opening of the Second Envelop?
2. EDSA2 who just wanted transparency in governance? Although, Ramos benefited from it…
3. ERAP, who did not fight it out for the sake of the masses? Is this leadership failure?
4. The Supreme Court who were too eager to kiss Glueria’s ass? This is blunder, no question about it.
Tayong lahat.
Why?
We should prove we deserve something better. How?
By choosing leaders not by popularity as in both case [Erap & Macapagal La Aunor],… but with Vision, Qualification, and Integrity.
Nothing less, maybe more.
It is high time now that we should go beyond these two personalities.
dapat this online petition is also seen in tabloids…I want to set an example of Al Gore draftgore.com petition. They first published it in NY times then the next day 200,000 serious petitioners. It is good thing to know na line voided nay yun mga pekeng petitioner and now I can start joining this petition.
As I have stated above, the number of the signatories is important but the content of the petition counts more. The more signatories, the better.
Point is the reason why they are asking for the addresses that can be made secret online but will appear in the actual petition is that agencies receiving the petition need the names and contact nos of the signatories for clarification. Naturally, if they are fake, the agency will not be able to confirm or clarify, and may take the petition as a hoax.
Who says that this kind of petition will not have any bearing? Malacanang may ignore it, but the Senate and the Congress can accept it even just for the sake of their constituents. Then, the signatories may try to push for action.
In my case, I intend to send the copy to our officials in charge of ODA to the Philippines. At least, over here, the voices of the people hold bearing. It is how we have seen results even in the banning of the Japayukis to Japan!!!
Personally, I want Gloria Kulimbat to be banned from Japan and pocketing those Japanese taxpayers’ money for ODA!
Point is may sadyang nanggugulo. Lumang tugtugin na as a matter of fact, pabago-bago lang ng pangalan!
Yuko — tama na!
I would like to suggest to the person who posted the petition online to delete totally the people deemed fake. The agency for example that I plan to submit the petition may question the blank lines that’s why.
Meanwhile, we invite likewise Filipinos in Japan to join us in our petition for the Kuwait government to have the sentence of Marilou Ranario, 34, reduced. We are submitting our petition to the Kuwaiti Embassy in Tokyo on Nov. 13 at 4:30 p.m. This activity is being done on the same day all over the world where there are Filipinos and there is a Kuwaiti Embassy.
Walang president sa Japan. Prime Minister, meron—sagot doon sa mukhang walang nalalaman sa Japan. 😛 At least, over here, may say kami sa palakad ng gobyerno namin. Bakit hindi iyan magaya sa Pilipinas?
Kawawang bansa!
I mean companies manufacturing plastic products..ano ang trade name? Robber Made or Robber Maid? same banana rin. I did not mean Made of Robber or Made of Rubber..
Ellen, I tried posting here but to no avail, only this one-liner gets through.
hawaiianguy,
Try ulit, after 10 tries at hindi pa pumasok…rest muna, heheh!
Try 12 times because Christ has 12 Apostles. Mahirap talagang pumasok ngayon. Ako nga, kailangan kong gamitin ang ibang handle. I suggest that you create another handle, Hawaiianguy. I think this blog is undergoing cleansing again. It’s flushing out the Ellenville loyalists. When we say loyalists, iyong mga “oo” at “yes” lang. If they continue opposing, they would be kicked out sooner or later.
Pareng Enchong;
I normally expected the peso to have stronger purchasing powers. Unfortunately, that did not turn out to be the case.
This is a wake-up call for OFW’s to sign the on-line petition,I share your dismay on the devaluation of our peso. OFW’s are getting hit crisis that, a sharp increase in food prices that is making it harder than ever to make ends meet. This little-known fact may go a long way to explaining why, despite healthy remittances of dollars, our country remain glum about the economy. It’s really expensive when you’re on a budget. We can’t do anything, we have to buy food.It hurts mostly those who are not receiving remittance who live in food-insecure households, many million poor and working class people, more than half of them children, who already may go without food on any particular day, even OFW’s families, the food intake is reduced and their normal eating patterns were disrupted. The consequences could be more deadly and with food prices on the rise, that number will likely only get worse. But not everyone sees rising food prices as a bad thing. For some,it’s an opportunity especially those illegal hoarders and cartel of Chinese fake Ma-Ling.
OPPPS! I mean devaluation of dollar
maarte: be fair, hindi lahat ng nagbloggers ay “yes” or “oo” for Ellen. Aminin ko “yes” and “oo” ako 100% for her but I have my reasons believe ako sa kanya..she is for truth and justice. Sa poker nga or sa mahjong, the rule of the house is to be followed..so why not here? Game! and the Red Sox will win the World Series! Strike out si GMA! and touch down si Sonny! And si Cocoy- hole in one! at may blowout siya sa restaurant ni Tongue..Grilled Liver ala Gloria and cremated lechon na Fig.

How do you oust a President by blogging especially if you are outside the P.I.? Someone suggested that the OFW should not remit money. That will only hurt the families who are waiting for those remittances.
Whether we are pro or con, the online petition is gaining ground. For the meantime, would like to share this banter now going around.
Erap will be more remembered for his unfinished business.
1. Didn’t finished schooling.
2. Didn’t finished his term as president
3. Didn’t finished his life sentence.
Turning Point :
Very funny hahahaha
The Palace belongs to the Filipino People
trick or treat?

Ms. Ellen,
I have been writing in this blogs several years ago, that the best way for our beloved country to move forward was to force these so called honorable officials of the land to resign and we the sovereign Filipino people calls for snap election. I have also written here in this site the very reason why de castro should not take the place of arroyo and instead force him also to resign and cancel the call for him to assume the presidency.
Now everybody (almost) everybody wants a snap election.
prans
Prans, you sign in the online petition na.

Ellen,
I went to a Filipino store today to find out what they think about “Petition to oust Pandak” I was dismayed of their answers. They don’t care about the Philippines anymore. “They are here in the land of the free. They don’t even know who Pandak is” But most of them have the same attitude about American Politics. I know because I help register to vote the new U.S. citizens. It seems like most of them have attitude problem.
Somebody wrote in your blog that President Bush is practising racial discrimination. It is not true. I happened to know that President Bush is a very fair President so with the Republican Party. I’m sure President Bush is aware of what Pandak is doing. If America is still giving foreign aid to the Philippines it is not to Pandak but to the Filipinos.
Re “I’m sure President Bush is aware of what Pandak is doing. If America is still giving foreign aid to the Philippines it is not to Pandak but to the Filipinos.”
That I agree with & much as I dislike Bush, that part about US providing aid to Pinas is true not because of Bush but because it’s US policy…just like they provide FMF to Egypt and Israel to a host of other nations. Of course, makes it infinitely easier to get substantial aid if the person at the helm of the aid receiving nation is close to a particular US president and in this case, punggok is prepared to kneel in front of Bush so he won’t decide on anything rash against punggok, i.e., “help” oust punggok…
Dandaw, how sad.
10/31/07
Anna,
There is nothing to dislike about Bush. He is a genuine person, down to earth, no pretenses. no hypocracy. He could be your biggest ally. You can always count on the Republicans with a welcome hand. Our party always stands for truth, justice and decency. So President Bush can not be otherwise. He is just cautious. From what I heard from our circle here, Bush will not give Pandak a time of day.
11/2/07
Ellen,
Only Filipino citizens can sign the petition? because my name was erased.
Correction to my sentence, “Bush will not give Pandak a time of day. Should be the time of day.
