Statement of Senator Antonio F. Trillanes IV on developments on Glorietta 2 mall bombing:
Agents of the Criminal Investigation and Detection Group (CIDG) visited detained Senator Antonio F Trillanes IV twice last Saturday ostensibly to gather information regarding Trillanes’ statement on the “Glorietta 2 Bombing” where he accused National Security Adviser Norberto Gonzales and AFP Chief of Staff Gen Hermogenes Esperon.
However, Trillanes said that he will only reveal what he knows to an independent, impartial and credible body that would be created for the purpose.
“As a person, and now as an elected lawmaker, I do not just make statements out of pique, or without anything to stand on, or to grandstand. I have information obtained from my own network of informants in the AFP and the intelligence community.”
“I am willing to cooperate and reveal all the information I have in front of an independent, impartial and credible body. ”“Criminal Investigation and Detection Group (CIDG) officials have visited me in my detention cell twice to gather information but I simply cannot imagine them investigating Norberto Gonzales and Esperon once I give them everything I know. For that matter, did we ever have a truly impartial investigation conducted by the Arroyo administration?”
“I now challenge them to create this independent commission composed of competent and respected members of society to really get to the bottom of this. The victims of this carnage, more than anything else, need justice.
“But to give everybody a brief background of Norberto Gonzales, he is one of the masterminds of the Light-a-Fire Movement in the 70’s, the anti-Marcos group responsible for several bombings in Metro Manila, which resulted in the deaths of dozens of Filipinos. This information is readily available in the Internet and was even documented in the memoirs of Ed Olaguer, one of the leaders of the Light-a-Fire Movement. In short, this man is very much capable of wreaking havoc to our society. He is the true terrorist.”

Barias said the significant findings are the following:
1) no traces of Improvised Explosive Device component were found;
2) there was no crater found
3) there was no ventilation at the basement for air circulation.
The petro-chemical experts also examined the layout of the fuel tank and their finding is that it did not follow the standard cylindrical structure that would cause an even distribution of the pressure. Their tank is rectangular and this might have contributed to the explosion, the gas explosion theory, particularly the upward direction of the blast.
This is a whitewash investigations in my opinion. How could a commercial establishment being built in a lousy architectural design if no ventilation circulation on the gas tank storage area? Now, if we go on gas explosion theory, the building should burned down because there is a fire after the explosion from the residue of the gas, people on that area will suffered from smoke inhalation from the thick smoke it created. If I am the owner of that commercial building I will demand a foreign independent investigation, The Scotland Yard.

it seems that it was really the FBI and Aussies that knocked some sense into the investigators and forced them to re-examine the very early announcements of a C4-based bomb. turns out, the sample was not collected/handled by the book and no more traces or other bomb parts have been found. i think they are about as good as Scotland Yard. I am sure they are not into covering up anything for GMA’s benefit. as for why no fire, the answer can be googled: deflagration gas explosion.

The tank contains diesel fuel in liquid form, hence incapable of being ignited. Even if the gas fumes that may accumulate at the upper portion of the said tank is not enough to detonate those that are still in liquid form.

Nagtataka nga din ako kung bakit kailangan magpadala ng mga sundalo sa blast site sa Glorietta para daw magbantay, eh ang dami na ngang mga pulis at security personnel. At ano naman ba ang special role ng sundalo duon. Malamang nga ay gustong guluhin ang imbestigasyon. Nagsalita na nga din ang ibang expert engineering professors from UP na medyo malabong lumikha ng ganun kalaking damage kung methane gas ang cause.

I have a link to a Youtube vid in my blog that shows how a 9,000-liter methane gas explosion would appear. It doesn’t look like it was even enough to send a shockwave through the concrete floor above Glorietta’s basement and destroy the building’s ceilings.
Imagine a tanker trailer 90% full (petroleum tankers normally carry 10,000 liters) of methane gas, pumped it inside the basement and ignited it.

Currently the investigators are going back to their first “likely caused by LPG gas” and now they added some Diesel Storage.
Let us see it this way, if the Explosions (there were two, some witnesses accounts) were caused by the Gas Tanks, then there is a Possibility That it was not an accident but intentionally RIGGED TO EXPLODE>.. The tanks can easily be accessed by some Expert Bomb makers and it won’t be very hard to convert them into lethal bombs with its 50 kg or lbs of gas, hooked some kind of detonators and pronto, don’t have to sneak in explosives and components inside a well-guarded mall…what do you guys think of this theory, possible? then if it is possible and could be well what happened, finding the culprits would be another one that will require even more “Probabilities”, “more likely” or could be scenario.
I think it is hard to discredit Sen Trillanes as long as he is in jail. It is also smart of him to point to his usual suspects. Politics is more like an art than science, either one like a painting or one just does not like it, in the same way that one hate gma and likes Sen Trillanes.

Here’s a fine way to make money for the victims of the blast… why don’t we challenge the authorities to build a similar diesel tank found at the Gloriettas basement, fill it up with diesel, and show us how this tank’s explosion contributed to the destruction; they should also replicate the design of the septic tank system that leak out the methane gas, build it in an exact replica of the Glorietta basement and introduce a spark … if not they should donate at least a million pesos each to each victim … for coming up with the wrong conclusion…
If I am in the shoes of the Ayalas, and I am now going to be blamed for “negligence” not to mention, possible law suits, I might as well prove their findings wrong by financing such tests to settle this once and for all… hey, wake up, my friends!
