A senator said former NEDA chief Romulo Neri said nothing in the executive session convened by the senators after a 12-hour session where Neri invoked executive privilege when asked why NEDA changed its position from BOT (Build-Operate-Transfer) to a supply contract which the Chinese firm ZTE was offering.
Neri’s invoking of the executive privilege was on questions which he said could be embarassing to Gloria Arroyo.
The senator said Neri was running a fever.
Hearing resumes tomorrow but it would be more on the technical side. Neri and Abalos will not attend.
Executive Secretary Eduardo Ermita is happy that bribe allegations in the NBN ZTE deal was, to his opinion, not corroborated. This was after making sure that Neri won’t rat on Gloria Arroyo by instructing Neri to invoke executive privilege when it concerns conversation with Gloria Arroyo.

For me, I am just as frustrated by the poor performance of some of the Senators. Whilst there are a few mainly younger Senators putting well constructed questions to the resoece persons on the other hand there are those who repeatedly make attempts to close the hearing even at this early stage.
I have reluctantly come to the conclusion that Senate hearings is not the way to solve our immediate biggest problem – thats to remove this evil woman from her throne, then our biggest problem would be solved.

Kung ganyan din ka-rebelde ang mga Pari sa Pilipinas, may lakas ng loob ba ang RP military na barilin sila (mga pari at madre)? One good thing we can say about Filipinos in general and our military in particular is that may malaki silang respeto sa mga alagad ng simbahan. Hindi nila kayang saktan.
