In his explosive testimony at the Senate last Tuesday, Jose de Venecia III related the meeting at the Wack-Wack Golf Clubhouse last March where, in the presence of Comelec Chairman Benjamin Abalos, DOTC secretary Leandro Mendoza, Ruben Reyes, Jimmy Paz, and retired Police General Quirino de la Torre, Mike Arroyo, husband of Gloria Arroyo told him to “back off” from the big-ticket National Broadband project.
That same day Abalos issued a categorical denial. “I cannot understand how he (Joey de Venecia can come up with this kind of story. Wow! It’s a big lie. There is no such meeting. I deny all those (allegations).”
A day later, Mike Arroyo confirmed the meeting. Speaking through his lawyer Jesus Santos, Arroyo, on a three-day stopover in Venice for what was apparently a very important business in Zurich and Munich, said the Wack Wack meeting was “purely a chance encounter.”
Abalos and Mike Arroyo better get their act together. Nabibisto!

Luli Arroyo’s below-the belt tirades at Joey de Venecia (“I don’t know if his old drug use affected his thinking” and “grasping at straws as thin as his hairline”) have unleashed meaner text messages.
One message I got said in “carabao” Spanish: “Oye, Luli que barbaridad! Porque sabi mo nagdroga si Joey de V? No te olvides tu Tio Iggy y hermano Mikey nag-droga tambien en la escuela de Jesuitas. Cerra la boca, puede?”
Here’s my “carabao” translation: “Luli, how horrible! You said Joey de V was into drugs? Don’t you remember that your uncle Iggy and brother Mikey were also into drugs when they were in Ateneo? Will you please keep you mouth shut?’
The text in Spanish fits Luli perfectly because there was one incident in La Vista in the first few years of her mother’s unelected presidency. It was a holiday and the reporters were there to get a statement from Gloria Arroyo on an issue which I can’t anymore remember.
Arroyo told Luli to serve some refreshments to the reporters. Within hearing distance of the reporters, Luli replied to her mother in Spanish, “What for, why do you have to feed them?”
That was bastos.

Last week, I met a former DOTC official of Arroyo. He said he is so glad that he is out of the department at this time when it is embroiled in the national broadband controversy. He thinks Joey de Venecia is saying the truth.
He said there’s no way that the contract with the ZTE could be pushed. “It’s too hot. It could explode. It could bring down the Arroyo government.”
I asked what would happen to the reported “advance” payments to the tune of $198 million (that’s in dollars!) that the Chinese were said to have made.
The official said Arroyo would have to look for another project for the Chinese to recoup their payment. That means another overpriced project.
In our discussion, one thing was clear: Arroyo cannot afford to drop Abalos. She owes him her illegitimate presidency. She will have to protect him by all means. Or else he will bring her down with him.

We all know that when Luli’s mother refused to let her work in the DFA (following her topnotch exams whatever), Triple R made overtures to include her on his staff.
Alright, I’m not a fan of Triple R so I may not be objectie here but just the same, I think I have a pretty clear idea why he ‘hired’ Luli. Triple R had one of the strongest lobbying groups for Pinas in the US at the time – it is easy to imagine that hiring the daughter of the “presiden” is like putting a mole and an extraordinarily influential person in Malacanang for his group.
So when Luli says, “hindi sila nakikialam”, she’s not being fortright. In other words, it’s a lie! Matter of fact during the Soliven-Triple R war of words, she went up to Soliven to make “taray” to him about Triple R which Soliven DID NOT at all appreciate.
It’s safe to say that Luli’s pakikialam to protect Triple R vis a vis Soliven only worsened an already bad situation between the 2 men.

Funny how Abalos and Luli can still call Joey a liar when the Fatso himself through his lawyer has admitted meeting with those ZTE executives and Abalos but denies he told Joey to back off. Huli na sa bibig ang mga ungas, umaalma pa rin.
This daughter should be charged with obstruction of justice as a matter of fact, and Abalos for graft and corruption, vote rigging, etc.
I remember a daughter of a governor here doing the same some years back. May nakuhang ebidensiya laban sa kaniya, dakip agad sa kaniya and the governor was forced to resign. The daughter was actually in charged of the father’s election campaign and she was found pocketing some of the funds that was way above the limit and she was put in jail.
If they had an independent police there not run by a relative of the Fatso, or a court not manned by appointees of the criminals at large, siguro nakulong na ang mga iyan, but unless the Filipinos stand indifferent and think that what is happening in their country is normal and incorrigible because of the fallacious thinking that they have been that way for centuries even when in fact a lot many folks in the provinces for instance are just waiting for the chance to burst out if they can.
Funny, but I am presently translating some interviews of disgruntled peasants in Negros who are torn between joining the NPA or go hungry believing the crooks they vote to represent them in their government. The documentary is going to be aired on NHK in fact in October.

I am not surprised. I actually had been harping about these mother and daughter going to some finishing schools and learn some social graces and etiquettes. Hindi nga marunong ng netiquette itong Luli sa totoo lang who blogs in various names. Once she even used the addy of one or two of her relatives for a fee tiyak paid with taxpayers’ money. Ganyan kabastos at kaburara ang mga taong iyan.
In fact, I keep the picture of the mother with her panties shown taken by a Manila Bulletin photojournalist in 2001. Biglang bagsak tuloy ang Manila Bulletin for that!

Finally Luli has awakened from fantasy to reality, and she want to do something to control the overblown population. She is now advocating birth control, not by contraceptive pills, abortion and use of condom. Bilang isang tao rin wag nating ipagkait sa kanila ang karapatang mainis, magalit at mag-alala sa taong malapit sa kanila. As a contractual police interpreter working for the police, court and bar association in Japan, galit talaga ako sa mga kriminal. She attended the Magdalo court hearings; talked to personalities directly involved in all the cases committed by Malacanang ang its men, and she has a huge network of friends in the profession she belongs. I share your feelings, Chi. What I like most about this blog of Ellen is to know that I have lots of kindred spirit in wanting only the best for the land of my birth. And I like what Ellen writes because it is exactly the way I feel.
I must thank Ellen really for the respite from grief and pain that I should be feeling for my aunt whose demise amazingly I can accept more lightly than when I am left brooding alone in my grief instead of being not just entertained but allowing me to be useful by blogging here, sharing what I can share in fact based on my experiences especially in dealing with hardened criminals I interpret for in the Japanese police, court and bar associations in Japan.

Mawalang galang napo ulit, but I just want to make it clear na hindi ako si Luli, I am not someone close to her, at hindi kami magkakilala. I am a regular OFW in Japan na naghihikahos na makausad hindi lang para sa sarili ko kundi lalo na sa aking bayan. I am a citizen who also want to speak up and is exasperated by the same old allegations hidden behind write-ups and opinions gaya ng defamatory remarks ni Ms. Ellen kay Luli, at gaya ng iba pang chismis sa media na wala namang basihan. If her subject is not Luli and happens to be someone in the oppostion or leftist group, I would still say the same thing and I will not judge the subject based from baseless allegation. That is my way of being for truth and justice.
I will not argue the case of Arroyo dahil we are paddling on the same side in that issue, naniniwala ako na marami syang kasalanan sa Bayan and in due time kailangan nya itong pagbayaran.

Ngayon, panay ang paretoke at panay ang binat doon sa mga skin niya. Nakita ko siya sa TV, hindi na makatawa dahil nabinat na ng husto iyong balat niya. At dahil sa hindi na rin niya maibuka ang bibig niya, hindi na ngayon makakanta. Occupational hazard pa ang labas.

May kilala din akong nagpalagay ng permanent eyebrow at eyelid. Nagka-infection yata at nagmukhang Michael Jackson sa “Thriller”. Ingat lang dapat. I don’t know if one could file a case against the doctor for medical malpractice or something kung hindi naging successful ang retoke. But like in any surgical work, I think one is asked to sign a waiver.

Many years back, I handled a case in the police of medical malpractice and manslaughter. Namatay iyong pilipinang nagpaparetoke ng suso at mukha niya. Meron pala siyang epilepsy kaya nang lagyan na anesthesia, na-coma. Brain dead ang labas. Iyong quack doctor, pilipino din na nakakaloko ng mga pilipinong nagtitipid sa Japan.
Kababayan ni Fatso iyong quack doctor na nag-experiment sa mukha niya. Agnas ang ilong kaya nang humarap sa korte naka-surgical mask. Pinatanggal ng judge iyon, at golly, nakakatakot ang mukha! Tapyas iyong ilong, walang cartileges. Kulong ang pilipino! Nagbayad pa yata ng malaking damage kasi nag-file ng civil suit after the criminal trial ang pamilya ng biktima.
Sana maagnas din ang mukha ang mukha ng nanay ni Luli!
