Isn’t this a good idea for a T-shirt?
I’m told one of the detained Scout Rangers did this.
Ellen,
Kinukuha lang balik..return dignity to the Filipinos..Kahit kailan man hindi nangagaw ang truth and honor. The truth is the truth kahit pabaligtarin mo pa. Honor has to earned and these men who fought for truth and honor are now chained. Ang buwaya ang may hawak ng bayan natin..We all know who are those who are chained..and don’t we know who the buwaya is? Maybe you need a new pair of glasses..your vision is not 20-20. AT kailan pa man hindi hayop ang mga nakatali..itinali sila kasi takot yong buwaya..Tama “Something is really wrong when those in power are afraid of those they have put in prison.” Ano pa?
In the orient, a tiger represents guardian of the universe against the forces of chaos, living symbol of strength and courage. Kroko represents the corrupt and abusive Gloria Arroyo regime and her rubber stamp De Venecia-led congress.
Sabi nga ni DKG a tiger is a symbol of strength and courage..a kroko represents the corrupt.. both are animals..
and DinaPinoy are we not all animals? May mabait, at may masama..may puso at wala kaya ng halimaw-the ugliest beast.
correction..gaya ng halimaw..the ugliest beast.
In China the tiger is the king of the beasts. He takes on much the same symbolism as the lion in western cultures. He represents royalty, power, courage, ferocity, strength, wrath, cruelty, treachery, and authority. The wild tiger uses these attributes in a frightening and beastly way, while the tamed tiger uses the appropriate traits in a manner which benefits humankind. Remarkably, in a Chinese version of “Little Red Riding Hood,” the child and her grandmother are set upon by a tiger rather than a wolf.
The wild tiger is thought to be an angry and savage creature. Along with the deer (representing love-sickness) and the monkey (symbolizing greed), the tiger is counted as one of the Three Senseless Creatures of Chinese Buddhism. As such, he symbolizes anger. One might ask where the tiger’s anger comes from. According to one legend, a young boy severely whipped or “given many stripes” by his teacher ran off into the forest and in his rage became the first tiger.
Ellen,
Thanks for the gif. I am making a T-shirt with it.
Time to protest against the incarceration of these brave soldiers.
Kawawang Pilipinas!!! Nakakadugo ng puso!
Here in the States, I also hear people saying ‘sayang, sana hindi na umalis ang Kano sa Pilipinas’.
Ate Ellen,
We have to help them get free from the chains!
Umalis sila (US military) sa Subic at Clark noon 1990 at bumalik muli noon 1991 bilang US-RP Balikatan.
‘Pag pinoy, no pansin!
Proud? Nope!
Rose,
Right, Gloria d’ hybrid…”hindi tao, hindi hayop” (pahiram Tongue) is the ugliest beast!
That is right. The Philippines is dependent on America. Most Nations are dependent on America. Israel, Greece, Egypt to name a few. Even Japan is dependent on the Americans to protect them from a possible attack from North Korea.
Kon saan may pakinabang sila…there they are..Come to think of it sa Western Visayas walang military base sila..Universities- yes. Central Phil. University and Siliman University are both very good schools.. recognized for academic excellence. We may seem to be dependent on them but they also are dependent on us for our natural resources..kaya lang sa atin..ang nakikinabang ay yong mga corrupt officials..kahit dito marami ang nasa welfare..maraming corrupt officials sa gobierno at sa private corporations. Many times, however, nahuhuli at pinaparusahan..may mga mayor na ikinulong..dahil sa kasamaan..hindi gaya sa ginawa kila Sen. Trillanes and the Men of Honor..they were not even charged..
Ang tanong “who will redeem our stolen Filipino dignity? Hindi si Angara–si Enrile? si Meriam Santiago? si Joker?
si FVR? si Honasan? wala sa kanila..si Raul Gonzales? lalong nasira..Ang tunay na nagmamahal sa bayan ay ikinulong..but as we know there is always an end to everything..malapit na ang mga huling sandali nila..at baka ma indira siya..
Titser: Even Japan is dependent on the Americans to protect them from a possible attack from North Korea.
*****
At least, iyong mga lawbreakers among them, nakukulong! Sa Pilipinas, korte ng Pilipinas, binaboy!!!
Japan is not entirely dependent on America para utuin, and this is a fact. At least, people here know how to demand for equality and/or co-prosperity. At our pace and needs!”
Hindi tanggap dito ang publicity na kung wala ang America, wala ang Japan, and reason why Japan is establishing stronger ties with Germany, UK, etc. FYI!
BTW, Japan negotiates with North Korea not via USA but via China.
Ystakei;
Philippines need America more than Japan or any other countries in the world whether you like it or not. When you come across America, never assume that the American peoples has only a single identity that is Caucasians..America is a product of migration of different races, but, I won’t go deeper on that history, instead I focus on the U.S.-Philippines mutual relationships. I believe the U.S. should be supportive of the democratic changes in the Philippines and encourage the democratic transformation. We should cool it on the negativism and criticism against America. We all know what these problems are in terms of governmental efficiency infrastructure, poverty, the insurgency, and so forth.
Also, as I remember from your previous blog long, long time ago, you categorized many U.S.Marines a rapist because of Daniel Smith and you hated America yet some of your relatives live in SFO.Ano ba talaga? Most GIs are law-abiding, but many alienated and drunken troops do commit a disproportionate number of crimes.Smith was convicted of rape in a Philippines court, the U.S. exerted diplomatic pressure at the highest level to effect his removal, during the appeal process, to the U.S. Embassy (rather than the Philippines jail to which the judge had consigned him) but, that doesn’t meant that the U.S. is bullying a third countries. However, the service men are not only perpetrators, but they also struggle in their circumstances, as they are sent abroad with little preparation or understanding of the local culture, language, and social conditions, which brings about anger and fear against their surroundings and often drives them to commit crime.
The U.S. has given substantial economic assistance to Philippines more than Japan. Sometimes this aid is purely humanitarian in nature, such as aid for disaster relief and emergency food programs. In other instances, assistance is provided because of special historical or security relationships. But most often, economic assistance is just one element of U.S. relationships with Philippines that also include mutually beneficial trade and investment flows and educational and cultural exchanges.
USAID programs are financed by the American taxpayer. Many Americans feel that the U.S. has a responsibility to help Philippines achieve better lives for their people. Providing development assistance helps the U.S. build closer ties with both countries. The U.S. also benefits economically because economies that are developing and growing are better trade and investment partners.
I can not say much about the beauty and the beast on the main issue but I’ll just point out one thing on the side issue. Pinoys have a clout. We can talk and get the meanest and most vicious criminals out of the deathrows in Saudi Arabia for a song while we cry foul on one US marine getting out of his cell remanded for one little quickie.
The poster portrays a powerful message cleverly aimed at the military hierarchy. I am persuaded, but perplexed by DinaPinoy who is against symbolism but admires the big cat. Perhaps DP has forgotten the propensity of Pinoys to denigrate enemies using healthful fruits or helpful animals such as balimbing, calabasa, kalabaw.
I am delighted to note that titser did not jump ship and will perhaps mingle with the other ‘yanks’ in Ellenville. But, a caveat: one is a rabid pro, another just lukewarm.
Titser opened the topic of America and promptly roiled some feelings, and I’ll join the fun. This time I side with my golf partner Cocoy.
Like any nation, America has imperfections, including the old civilized First World countries of Europe. So have Asia’s China and Japan. But I admire the USA for its many good qualities, one of which is its honesty in being able to laugh at itself (Read the book The Ugly Amerian by William Lederer). The Philippines could have been part of this superpower (as State or Territory) were it not for the nationalism of Quezon who preferred Pilipinas to be run like hell by Filipinos instead of run like heaven by Americans. And he certainly got his wish. Many of us resent many discriminatory moves by Americans as racist, ignorant of the fact that they must act according to their laws, many of which are the original source of the preponderance of our own laws and jurisprudence. Their meddling in the 2006 Nursing Licensure exam cheating was simply to ensure that any nurse hired for U.S. healthcare is proficient. The rapist image of U.S. Marines applied to Daniel Smith is a spatter of cases in Okinawa, and I personally feel that Smith’s conviction was due to media and rallyist hoopla that swayed the decision.(I believe the act was consensual). But taking the big picture, American strategy and tactics in the Philippine context must be viewed in geopolitics – the U.S. first line of defense is the Pacific rim, the second is Guam, then Hawaii. They have troops in Japan and Korea. Mindanao borders Indonesia, the cradle of JI terrorists. The presence of G.I.s in Zambo and the military aid to the AFP are the offshoot of JIs in Basilan and Sulu. Of course the medical aid is a ploy to soften the locals. The Hueys and C-130s are aids in the form of soft loans (gratis devalues their care and maintenance). There is an annual $30 million military grant. And let’s not forget the Peace Corps.
Arroyo orders P150 increase in combat pay for Army, Marines
By Lira Dalangin-Fernandez

MANILA, Philippines — As she hailed the soldiers anew at the forefront of fight against armed rebels, President Gloria Macapagal-Arroyo has ordered an increase of P150 pesos per day in the combat pay for Army and Marine troops.
Arroyo also instructed Armed Forces Chief Hermogenes Esperon to release the guidelines for the increase, and for Budget Secretary Rolando Andaya Jr. to set aside P145 million a year for the additional pay.

opppss… “assperon” ! sorry.
I still believe the weakness is not with the Philippines institutions when it comes to dealing with other countries, but with its people in the government, who uses these deals for their own personal interest instead of the country. The deals is alway negotiated with good intentions on both side, unless the other side willing to betray its own interest. The U.S. and Canada are the two biggest two way traders in the world, and consistently Canada’s has a Trade Surplus of $50 Billions and that does mean that we took advantage of NAFTA which was negatiated fair and square between the two countries. It is just that we more to export to the U.S. than we have to import from them and there is no dispute between us that we can not resolve in proper and civilized manner. To pare cocoy we are always good neighbor and let’s keep it that way…good day ehh…
Chi, thanks for the WB on the other thread.
“Something is really wrong when those who are in power are afraid of those they have put in prison.”
Something’s seriously wrong when people in power are scared even of their own shadows. Why would the Palace invoke EO464 if they are unafraid?
Something’s seriously wrong when one, whose “victory” as “president” is in question, rules to exclude another who won fair and square from the honor of serving his mandate as senator (At least, there wasn’t any shade of doubt cast on Senator Trillanes’ victory.)
The graphics above is an insult to crocodiles, for even crocodiles reach points of satisfaction. Those in power show no hint of being satisfied with their loot.
eh, ito naman kaya, sino’ng matutuwa?
sila ring magkakaalyadong SUWAPANG!

Gov’t panel won’t touch Cabinet man in graft raps
08/28/2007
Malacañang’s Committee of Peers has reportedly refused to investigate a Cabinet member who has been found to be guilty of two counts of graft charges, including “unjust enrichment,” and instead passed the case to the Presidential Anti-Graft Commission (PAGC).
Asked about this, Presidential Management Staff chief Cerge Remonde, who heads the committee of Peers, said the panel is not authorized to investigate Cabinet members accused of various anomalies so he instead forwarded the said case to PAGC Chairman Constancia de Guzman for verification and investigation.

———
ka enchong,
yung huling talata ng inyong komento, sang-ayon ako buong-buo.
Neonate: I have read “The Ugly American” way back in 1969 before coming here. There is a sentence in that book that I can not just erase in my mind..”for the monkeys have no tails in Zamboanga”? In 1969 there were not that many Filipinos here in NYC. I was staying at the YWCA dorm at the time, and I was asked to talk about the Phil. at the International night and a question was asked..”where did you learn English?” I was furious inside me and about to give the answer..”while swinging from one tree to another.”
but politeness prevailed and just said..I went to school.
And correct me if I am wrong.. the Ugly American alluded to was Col. Ed Landsdale? I have heard this..but I honestly don’t think so and I hope not. Kasi, at 10 years of age I have seen Col. Landsdale at the residence of Lolo Juan (J. C.Orendain). I get uptight when I hear a Filipino criticize our way of life in front of non-Filipinos. Hindi bale kung tayo tayo lang we can joke about it..but with others..naku naman!
Cocoy: Tama ka US gave more to us in terms of money and other services (pati na nga seguro ang corruption). Fresh from school, in 1968, I had the opportunity to go to Japan on a “private” exchange program. I was interested in a study comparing the two countries in terms of economic development after WWII. Both countries were given war damage compensations..but Japan progressed rapidly. And I asked why? What I realized and the answer to my question why? the Japanese are more disciplined. It is their personal and individual self discipline. Taken as a whole nation..that is how..this is my impression that I still have about Japan. Maybe iba na ngayon..
Gokusen: I took a close look at the chain..malapit na nga maputol. Soon it will be done!
Ellen: paki bili mo ako ng T-shirts..size PM (putot medium-)I hope to be home late Jan. That would be a nice shirt to wear at the Phil. Independence Parade in NYC, and at the PAGCOM day here in JC. Thanks..
How many were sent 5,000 or 6,000?
Off-topic but I just read in Malaya that Joma Sison has been arrested in Netherlands for a crime committed in the Philippines, and the Dorobo government is playing innocent about it.
Sinong niloloko ng mga ungas? Even his being included in the US and EU list of terrorists was no accident. There was a lead in fact sent to the Japanese police long, long time ago so that I thought it was hypocritical that they would be holding those peace talks with the CPP in Europe when the Philippine government has been sending feeders to foreign governments to have him and his people arrested or tailed.
As for the killings in Leyte since 2001, I doubt that Sison has anything to do with it. Let the Dutch police investigate it. They may be better investigators there!
I should add that the case of Sison is a police matter, not military! Let justice be done! If he is guilty that he should be tried and prosecuted properly.
Unfortunately, over in the Philippines, it is not uncommon that innocent people are convicted by the “system” by using the testimony of “paid” informants; a stoolie, a snitch.
How many people have we heard being framed with stoolies used to give false affidavits to the court and justice then denied?
Worse is the common practice of using perjurers instead of actual evidences that more often than are not available or fabricated because the police just do not care about people getting falsely convicted. Worse is when the prosecutor and the judge are part and parcel of the deception.
In those cases, it is not uncommon that one sees obstruction of justice, prosecutorial misconduct, perjury and jury tampering. And the result? You bet, injustice.
If you are using the above image for your T-shirt, baka malagay kayo sa police blotter. Ganyan ang nangyari doon sa mga B&W members who wore the Patalsikin Na, Now Na T-shirt. Dinakip sila ng pulis even when it was in fact suppression of freedom of speech and assembly. Remember? Kaya sinong may sabing safe?
Rose: It is their personal and individual self discipline. Taken as a whole nation..that is how..this is my impression that I still have about Japan. Maybe iba na ngayon..
*****
On the whole, disiplinado pa rin. Nothing much has changed except that with the foreign invasion, dumami ang magnanakaw although where I live, it is still fairly safe. Compared to the California for instance, we still have very few cases of murder, etc.
It is actually far from being told to do this and not do that. It is a matter of having more consideration for the feelings of people around a person.
Years ago, I asked my father-in-law about the Japanese concept of sin especially those who have been brought up not having any concrete idea of a god like we do as Christians or Moslems.
His answer was “It is a matter of abiding by some rule, a sense of responsibility, and the ability to take such responsibility upon oneself. One sins if he hurts other people regardless of whether or not there is a law, written or unwritten, defining and prohibiting such harmful act.
In other words, “huwag mamerhuwisyo ng kapwa.”
This reminds me. While in CA, a friend of my nephew was killed in a party he attended, a victim of a gatecrasher who went wild. The murder occured in fact a few blocks from where we live. A few days before I came back to Japan, the Macy’s at Southland Mall in Hayward was ransacked by young hoodlums who were able to escape. The case was in fact still under investigation when I left.
At least, I have not heard of such shooting spree being common in Japan because of a strict gun control.
BTW, if the above image is done by some scout ranger, could it be that they are now pulsing public opinion? Mahirap kasing kumilos sila tapos mapupurnada ang gagawin nila without the public supporting them like how the Thais were able to remove Thaksin to remove the Thaksil of the Philippines.
Tignan nga ang nangyari sa mga Magdalo. Let it not happen again, ang mabigo sila. And this time, ipakilala na ang tunay na lakas ng mga pilipino. Ipakita nang malaya sila. Hindi kailangan ang mga kano as a matter of fact!!!
Let me first say that I’m not stalking the above poster, but just sharing my own piece. A country with strict gun control law doesn’t always work. In UK, the British cops don’t carry guns but lately, there’s a rise in crime involving armed young black gangs. It’s reported on the papers. In Canada (Vic could attest to this), guns have also proliferated particularly in big cities like Toronto and Vancouver. There are as many gangs carrying guns in Toronto as those in the US. Recently, two young people were shot and killed while several others injured when two masked men went inside a Chinese restaurant in Chinatown, Vancouver. Bike gangs like the Hells’ Angels also carry weapons and they are active in Montreal and other parts of Canada. And Canada has strict gun control law too.

Ellen,
I just read your new column in Malaya. Wow, ang tindi ng sulat sa iyo .
Golly, could this be the beginning of a round-up of credible journalists like you starting criticism of this blog using even yours truly as a scapegoat?
Frankly, I am preparing myself for a showdown as a matter of fact. I have contacted my friends in the media, police and the Diet on what is happening in the Philippines. Alam naman nila as a matter of fact.
I still have an open invitation in fact to join the fact-finding mission to the Philippines prior to the visit of the unano to Japan as a matter of fact.
But as a blogger has stated, hindi magtatagumpay ang mga kawalanghiyaan. Sabi nga sa 2Kgs.17:338-39, “And the covenant that I have made with you ye shall not forget; neither shall ye fear other gods. But the LORD your God ye shall fear; and he shall deliver you out of the hand of all your enemies.”
Here’s a song I would like to share with you:
1. Let us all press on in the work of the Lord
That when life is o’er we may gain a reward.
In the fight for right, let us wield a sword,
The might sword of truth
(Refrain)
Fear not, though the enemy deride
Courage, for the lord is on our side
We will heed not what the wicked may say
But the Lord alone we will obey!
2. We will not retreat though our numbers may be few,
When compared with the opposite host in view;
But an unseen pow’r will aid me and you
In the glorious cause of truth.
3. If we do what’s right, we have no need to fear,
For our Lord, our helper, will ever be near.
In the days of trial, his saints he will cheer,
And prosper the cause of truth.
Off-topic but Malaya reports that the PNP is presenting 3NPA (daw) to testify that they have seen JJ Burgos abducted by the NPA.
Case solved? Ewwwwww! Please, kahit konti man lang common sense!
Unbelievable daw!
To solve some, why not send all those behind bars to fight our wars. They know better. They have wisdom we respect. They are trained, they are more patriotic than anyone of us. I dont see any difference with those inserted into the military from the MNLF that were once the enemies of the state. I might even add to take volunteers from the jails. I’m sure they would want to show their mettles not only in dancing.
I am a little interested with the indemnity from the last war. Perhaps anyone can give a listing or at least how was the indemnity generously distributed? If it was not enough that it didnt reach little people like my grands, perhaps we can claim still like what some others did in an Hawaiian court to get a piece 0f the Marcos money.
Rose, the authors Lederer and Burdick wrote in The Ugly American the distasteful antics of their fellow Americans but not the abominable. Still, the book made the best seller list in the U.S. and made a splash here (where even a 10 year old gets furious). The ‘English’ question the Big Apple native asked was based on ignorance, curious about someone from the opposite side of the globe. You omitted stating your reply, but if you expressed what was in your mind at that moment the riposte would have brought the house down. I might add that you were lucky the questioner was not a native of Noo Joysee, the rustic side of the East Coast.
Rose, a follow up on the Ugly American. It was reported that Lederer was accosted by an employee of the stuffy Manila Hotel where he was staying for being in informal attire. He was garbed in shorts and Atienza shirt with flowery prints. His answer, the attire is the national costume in Hawaii.
goji n yuko,
A friend just brought me a copy of Zaide’s Phil. History -6th edition: In the Preface, Dr. Sonia Zaide wrote:
..our nation is undergoing one of the worst socio-economic crisis in our modern history. The greatest enemy of our people is no longer the foreign invaders or colonizers from outside..the enemy is within-our corrupt and foolish leaders, the lack of unity and discipline of our people, the loss of our talented and skilled professionals, workers and artists who have gone abroad.
..never in the history of our people have so many left our shores for better job opportunities and social systems that they could not find here..This is a serious social cricis because we are losing our skilled and talented people, family members are separated and business and other establishment are deprived of good workers.
..the public debt of our government has more than tripled in the last ten years..Our people face serioius suffering and challenges in the years ahead.
..History shows that when societies experience major crisis their very existence is threatened, they need not only a new leader, or a new government, but also a new faith. We have to find the hope and reasons to believe in ourselves as people.
..The Philippines has the capability to be a great nation and to rise above tremendous challenges. God loves the Philippines, and God will bless this nation.” She also quoted a famous saying..”He who does not look back to where he came from will not know where he is going.”
sorry wrong spelling- “crisis” and not cricis…serious and not serioius.
tita rose,
“History shows that when societies experience major crisis their very existence is threatened, they need … a new leader,”.

Gokusen:
I saw a picture in fact of two Filipino soldiers carrying the toiletries of a US soldier following them na akala mo amo nila during the Balikatan sometime in 2002. It made me sick. Tapos may litrato din ng mga pilipinong sundalo na kumakain Boys Scout style na nagiihaw ng isda (tinapa o daing, whatever) and eating with their hands noong kasamang kanin compared to the American soldiers eating packed meals na iniinit sa microwave katulad noong kinakain sa eroplano, sarap na sarap. When you see such contrast, it makes your blood boils lalo na nakakita na ako ng kinakain ng hapong sundalo at kinakain ng sundalong Amerikano bagamat iba ay parehong well-balanced!!!
Kaya damang-dama ko ang init ng damdamin ng mga Magdalo when they staged their mutiny. Dapat lang, sabi ko sa sarili ko. Too bad, niloko pa sila ni Cimatu, et al!
Someone here mentioned about it in the previous thread.
Eeekkk, a dolly beast!
*****
You bet, Gokusen, mahal niya ang bansa niya. “History will be kinder to me,” sabi niya dahil minahal niya ang bansa niya.
Totoo iyong istorya na hindi sila nagpapadala sa Hawaii, not even to Paoay.
Off topic,
Gokusen,
Ganun ba?
Gokusen’
Wala akong Pinoy movie, korean or jdorama.
Gokusen,
I almost forgot, I’m waiting for my cousin. I’ll also send some cds thru him.
I am not quite sure yet if we are talking symbolism or parables.. Some refer a lot about the stunted growth of the pseudo prexy or is she ingrown really? But I can account that to the highest form of nationalism. As royals, upon the intrusion of invaders long ago, they ran to the mountains for preservation. They heard of those left behind were pleading, shouting, cursing, shrieking with no let up day in and day out as the beasts bore upon them. Years later when normalcy was in sight the elitist came down and they found a new breed of more beautiful children. Those were cries of happiness, excitement and thrills pala.. Thus the ingrained discriminating culture became more pronounced
Gokusen,Goji and Ystakei:
United States knows how to take care it’s people, especially it’s military. U.S. Military can sacrifices a million dollars worth of equipment just to spare it’s soldiers life. There is no reason for the U.S. soldiers not to have good nutrition and accommodation because they are treated that way. If someone think that the GI’s mistreated the Pinoy soldiers that concept is misleading. In the military the soldiers respect ranks in bilateral exercises. The U.S. sergeant will salute a Philippine Military Lieutenant or any person who has a higher rank than him. Applying the concept of GI power to his Pinoy counterpart to carry his gear (such as his soap and toothbrush),that affairs is altogether questionable. In physics, power or force governs the behavior of objects. That is a misleading analogy for soldier’s affairs. Military have a rules of their own. They may not be cowed by military power or other forms of repression, that is a sound principle of military organization. Might is not right.
The U.S. Policy is not to declare war on the Moslem worlds, but, to fight terrorism; Terrorism is the ideal enemy because it is invisible and therefore never disappears. Having an enemy that poses a genuine and widely recognized threat can be very effective in holding the nation together. That is particularly useful when the prevailing ideology is based on the unabashed pursuit of self-interest. By fighting war on terrorism, We have come a long way from Franklin Roosevelt, who said that “We have nothing to fear but fear itself”. American supremacy is not only unsound and unsustainable, it is also in contradiction with American values. America is an open society. The principles of open society are enshrined in the Declaration of Independence. And the institutions U.S. democracy are protected by it’s Constitution. The fact that they have a bunch of far-right ideologues in the executive branch does not turn into a totalitarian dictatorship. There are checks and balances, and the president must obtain the support of the people. But in the end, open society and freedom will not survive unless those who live in it believe in it.
For some reason, pinatawad ni Apo si Enrile but not Ramos na kamag-anak niya sa ina. “Blood is thicker than water,” sabi nila.
The Filipino tiger with all its “power, courage, ferocity and strength ” is aptly described and illustrated.
Now, who will redeem our stolen Filipino dignity , when in the face of truth, the brave remaining sons and protectors of our motherland are chained by their own fear and unconcern while their honorable brothers are shackled, being sacrificed in the battlefields and their helpless countrymen continue to agonize under the misery of tyrannical rule?
Cocoy,
yup you have points.. yung sinasabi ko personal kong nakikita…kaya nga sabi ko may iba naman mababait..kasi sakit talaga sa mata eh..makikita mo kumpleto escort sila ng mga pinoy na sundalo..alagang-alaga sila tapos yung mga sundalo natin nag-iigib ng tubig nagtutulak ng kariton pang kuha sa ilang kilometrong poso o kaya sa sapa…pero yung scenario sa RTC ng Jolo talaga kakapikon eh..sasabihin pa you have to work the way we work..hello…!
Chi,
Neonate: Tama ka..ignorance is the reason why many don’t know much of the Phil. I now live in Jersey City..and a lot of people worked in factories, Colgate, Western Electric or fashion factories..hanggang ngayon maraming factories dito..Until almost a year ago, I worked as secretary of an Italian church..and I had been asked where I learned English and why we Filipinos come to the US..and ang sagot-ko for the same reason that you Italian came here..But now they know more and more of the Pilipinos..at iba na ang templa..napamahal na and accepted na..
Maiba ako: hindi ba may nunal si GMA sa mukha..at medio round face siya..magandang target ang nunal at puede maglaro ng dart game..who wants to play dart.
zen2,
These japs, if they truly hate these american opportunists and rapists why are they not driving them away from their own soil instead of interfering w/ another country’s affair? Specially this bigoted japino (a fan of the apo), she has time to stage protest rallies against the president of the phils, yet, she’s not doing anything for her beloved country against american occupation in her own land even if their own women are being raped by these ‘bastards’(“mas depende ngayon ang mga kano sa Japan, militarily speaking!” my ass). The last time I read, she has her vacation in the land of milk and honey. Double speak eh? Ano ba talaga? She loves me, she love me not.
its just but right that they draw that black panther coz its the symbol used by the scout rangers on their uniforms. putting it on t-shirts and stickers would be a great idea. hope this court martial proceedings will end so that these military officers be in basilan where they are very much needed.
Rego: “these japs…” hayaan mo sila it is none of our business..we are all entitled to our own opinions (right or wrong)..
Salamat naman wala siyang ipinadala sa Panay (where her husband’s family is from.
Yuko: Ang masasabi ko lang sa nananakot dito sa Ellenville.. ay do you think you can afraid us, far far away. At sa laki ng takot nila they will do anything..but the truth is the truth…
Who will redeem the Filipino dignity and honor? Axe her! Her sins will haunt her. Ang sabi nga ni Lisa Doolittle..just you wait mr. ‘iggins just you wait..and more than that through our prayers a miracle will happen… just you wait..
Tita Rose,
I second the motion!
Yuko,
right iba ang nagbibigay ng opinion at iba ang namemersonal. opinion is open here..but not yung pamemersonal.
Ellen,
I think, the tiger symbol should be changed to a human form – preferably a soldier form. But that’s just me.
I do believe that the men of honors behind bars are capable of breaking that chain to redeem the honour of the lost institution, i.e., the AFP.
Yuko, please stop talking about internet brigader. Just discuss issues.
I’ll delete any item that mentions internet brigade.
OK, Ellen. No problem. I prefer to discuss issues as a matter of fact, and relate my own experience in the process but I cannot help answering back to clarify things especially with regards to these stalkers I call “Internet Brigade” which they are as a matter of fact. Mention of these stalkers is only to warn those who are not aware of them.
Rose: Her sins will haunt her. Ang sabi nga ni Lisa Doolittle..just you wait mr. ‘iggins just you wait..and more than that through our prayers a miracle will happen… just you wait..
*****
Wrong, Rose, the unano does not have a conscience, and even if her sins will haunt her, I doubt if she can be bothered at all! But I sure do believe in miracles, but miracles happen only to the deserving and those with faith.
Maganda ang T-shirt. Sana may kanya-kanyang version depende sa anong bansa. Why not also print them in Chinese, Japanese, Korean, French, Spanish?
BTW, Ellen, have you checked the existence of the communication center headed by a crony of the Pidals and overseen by the daughter somewhere. That is in fact the basis of our suspicion of the existence of this Internet Brigade, and the purpose is obvious.
gokusen,
Nahahalata na ba ang kulay? At naaamoy mo na rin?
Luz,
I favor a national protest as what the Chileans for instance has done the other day to demand for much more better services from their present government.
The protests in fact do not have to be concentrated only in Manila. They can be coordinated conducted all over the Philippines despite the threats, intimidations, etc., and should be conducted likewise against the kurakots the dictators in Manila have managed to install in the local governments. Hindi na puede ang pagtitiis sa wala.
The protests in fact do not have to be violent as what a lot many of my visitors from Manila have witnessed protests here are in most cases. Time to show the public servants who their real bosses are.
