Who was Gloria Arroyo addressing when she said in her State of the Nation Address, “From where I sit, I can tell you, a President is always as strong as she wants to be.”
Surely not the political opposition and civil society who were never impressed with her stolen power.
Was she directing it to the so called “hardliners” in the cabinet like national security adviser Norberto Gonzales and Justice Secretary Raul Gonzalez who just do what they want to do and say what they want to say and all that she can say is “Amen”?
Was she directing it to AFP chief Hermogenes Esperon, who has with him the “rogues” of the military? There are whispered talks of another operation a la “Save the Queen” because these officers are worried that Arroyo’s lame duck status is undermining their hold on power.
Or was she directing it to her supposed political allies who are now poised to jump ship in anticipation of her eventual exit from power?
Is that why she floated the possibility that she “may run for Congress in my home town” last week?
Is that why she didn’t say 2010 when she said that “It is my ardent wish that most of the vision I have outlined will be fully achieved when I step down.”
After all, doesn’t the vision she outlined encompass 20 years? She said, “Hangarin kong mapabilang ang Pilipinas sa mayayamang bansa sa loob ng dalawampung taon.”
Is that why she had to issue the warning “… make no mistake, I will not stand idly when anyone gets in the way of national interest and tries to block the national vision”?
Journalist Vergel Santos said that’s the most ominous part of Arroyo’s SONA. He took note that, “That quote roused her generals and other allies in the House.”
Whatever bravado she mustered last Monday couldn’t mask her pathetic situation. She talked of “strengthening institutions” which she pitilessly destroyed to save her stolen presidency.
“Let’s start with election reform,” she said. If she was joking it was most cruel. Musa Dimasidsing, the election officer from Maguindanao died exposing the sham election there and her Comelec headed by Benjamin Abalos went on to count the manufactured votes that made Miguel Zubiri senator. Zubiri is proof of government-condoned election fraud.
There can be no genuine election reform as long as Gloria Arroyo is in power. To truly reform elections, one has to unearth the anomalies of the 2004 elections and evidence that Arroyo is a bogus president.
From where I sat, Arroyo delivering her ho-hum Sona was a picture of a lame duck quacking.

Many Filipinos share that frustration. They want assurance f up front from the daydreaming fake highest leader of the land. That the injustice done will move to the right direction. What this quacking lame duck will do or won’t do if she no do, and there is a great frustration for that. She turned her SONA in out of tune Hyundai Sonata. A sonamagan.
Her approval ratings in public opinion in her SONA was the lowest among the history of the past presidents. She can’t slam-dunk issues in any levels of country’s problem. She’s only 4’11.Filipinos hear the worst message at a worst time and there is a growing sense of frustrations.

Be patient her eventual exit from power is on the horizon, the ship is sinking and her supposed political allies are now certainly poised to jump ship in anticipation of her eventual exit from power with the sinking of the ship. It’s always bad to wish ill of anyone, never mind if that person is the most morally and physically corrupt person or family in our country. But since I’ve never been known to be kind to shitheads and criminals, I say, wish them ill some more!
I also echo his wish for Gloria’s dream for the nation to progress by 2010 to happen. I suggest we drag her by the hair out of Malacanang, tar and feather her then hang her from the highest lamppost – am pretty sure that wish of progress just might become true. And if it does, i.e., nation progresses after hanging Gloria from the highest lamppost, I have absolutely NOTHING AGAINST setting up a memorial in “honour” of Gloria for sacrificing body and soul to make that wish come true.

Asslicker Magno should know that ten busloads of palakpakers were picked up by Five Star Bus Lines from different places in Metro Manila and nearby towns. I was told this by a Five Star supervisor who happens to be my beighbor. Five Star is two blocks away from my house.
