Let’s not forget Koko Pimentel

Let’s not forget that there is still Koko Pimentel of the Genuine Opposition fighting with Migz Zubiri of Team Unity for the last slot in the senatorial race.

Pimentel leads Zubiri by 111,561 votes.

How the Comelec will decide the problem in Maguindanao will decide the fate of Pimentel and Zubiri. Maguindanao has a little over 212,000 registered voters (The 337,044 Comelec uses is the registered voters before Shariff Kabunsuan was created as a subprovince from Maguindanao).

After the proclamation of Trillanes, the Commission on Elections will continue the hearing on the anomaly that was the Maguindanao elections, or rather non-election.

Comelec, which tries to be deaf and blind to the blatant irregularities in that controversial province in the Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao, is at a loss what to do with the manufactured 12-0 results in the senatorial elections. The opposition wants it thrown out; Team Unity bet Miguel Zubiri pins his hopes on those fraudulent votes to dislodge Koko Pimentel, who currently holds the 12th slot.

Comelec is proposing a special election for Maguindanao. The problem is nobody is asking for a special election. Besides, to call for a special election, you have to declare a failure of election.

When you declare a failure of election, you would nullify all the proclamations of the local candidates. That becomes complicated.

Take the case of Simeon Datumanong who has been proclaimed the winner to represent the province in the House of Representatives. Comelec has no jurisdiction over him any more. Only the House of Representatives Electoral Tribunal can “de-proclaim him.” And that would only be if someone lodges a protest and the whole tedious process of going over the contested votes is competed. As of now, nobody is protesting his proclamation as Maguindanao congressman.

Genuine Opposition spokesman Adel Tamano has suggested a solution to the Comelec: Affirm the proclamation of all the local candidates since most of them ran unopposed anyway. That’s all.

Tamano said since the Comelec has already rejected the provincial COCs that Election Officer Lintang Bedol has presented, then there’s nothing to canvass.

Tamano, a Muslim, said “disenfranchisement is a false issue.” Maguindanaons did not give that 12-0 vote to Team Unity candidates.

Tamano has presented the Comelec the most sensible face-saving solution. If they have any care left for the country, they should adopt that.

  1. GO KOKO GO! Sibakin mo silang lahat, including the shameless So-Very-Me-Gal! Why, he can do the country good better as a civilian! Why does he want to win even with tampered votes? Ang kapal naman!

    Senator Koko Pimentel, pagbutihin mo!!!

  2. rose rose

Why can’t COMELEC (or should I say does not want)to adopt the solution suggested by Tamano? If Gloria really want the
country to move on this seems to be the most sensible solution. COMELEC rejected the COCs presented by Bendol, wala nang bibilangin at kung wala na di tapos na at dapat ideclare na si Pimentel. This could pave the way to an acceptable reconciliation she offers. Kailangan pa ba ang “doctorate” degree to understand this? Ay Ambot sa imo.

  3. Today The Comelec will continue with its Maguindanao hearing.. let’s see what logic they will use, if indeed, they decide to declare a failure of election…

Koko Pimentel will finally sue provincial poll supervisors Lilian Radam of South Cotabato and Yogie Martirizar of North Cotabato.

Bedol would’ve been part of this lawsuit were it not for the “loss” of the documents…

  4. You will recall that both N. and South Cotabato had to be re-canvassed, and that upon re-canvassing it was found out that indeed there was dagdag-bawas in favor of TEAM Unity..

Hmmmm, and we can only expect the same from Maguindanao…

  5. You bet, Nick, Koko will not stop until he gets a vindication of what these crooks are intending to do. And I hope Koko will continue to pursue to case once and for all even when he, too, is declared winner with or without So-Very- Me-Gal’s conceding to his defeat! Corrupt talaga!

Kailangan ma-stop na itong pangungurakot ng mga ungas that according to Lito Banayo (buying votes) was actually started by the unano’s father. Mabuhay ka, Koko, when you succeed!

Nagtatapang-tapangan! “Good start daw!” Matagal na siyang palaging nag-uumpisa puede ba? Paurong naman ang takbo niya! Pwe!

  6. skip skip

    Yuko,

Yup. And I hope Koko sues the ass off Zubiri too. It shouldn’t stop at the election officials. The trail has to lead all the way to the candidates themselves who are paying good money for the manufactured votes.

Miguel Zubiri, this is something to wipe the smirk off your pretty dolled-up face — isinusuka ka ng UPLB at ng sarili mong mga kasamahan sa Ranchers’ Club. I just thought you show know that.

Please, stop miggling your way into the Senate.

    You. Do. Not. Belong. There.

    Capeesh?

  7. Yuko, Ellen, and friends.. please take a look at my latest post regarding Senator Trillanes… I’m sure you will be amused and proud 🙂

  8. chi chi

The solution presented by Adel is logical and workable, madali pa!

We know the reason if KOMOLEK rejects his suggested solution to the Maguindanao problem. Anofa? Dahil isinisingit ang singit ni Tita Me Girl so Very!

KOKO PIMENTEL IS 12th SENATOR! Period.

  9. Tita Me Girl, heheh, I haven’t heard that one yet.. 🙂

  10. chi chi

    Nick,

Ang galing-galing ng latest post mo. I enjoyed it, thanks.

Tita Me Girl So Very was from Tongue who got it from a beauty parlor. Right Tongue?

  11. chi chi

    Yuko,

    GO! KOKO GO! GO!

  12. parasabayan parasabayan

Koko will be a great Senator and I believe this 101%! If the these dumbos did not attempt to cheat in the first place, these problems of lost votes etc would not have occurred. But no matter how one tries to hide the truth, it will always find its way out. The tiyanak and her dogs can eliminate every one of the known witnesses but there will always be someone out there who has the guts to come out and tell the truth at all costs!

I do agree that the Maguindanao votes for the Senators should just be nullified. The local officials who had already been proclaimed can no longer be unseated, anyway most of them were solo candidates. Or, if there is such a thing as special elections only for the senators, then this route may be feasible. The cost is going to be exhorbitant though and may not be worth it!

  13. mami_noodles mami_noodles

Tulad nga ng sabi ni Koko Pimentel; “Which is better, spend taxpayers’ money to find out who won or for Zubiri to spend his money to prove that he won?”

Maguindanao was already disenfranchised the moment Abalos and Co. cooked the BS result that was 12-0 in favor of TU, so they should not shove that arument in our faces.

  14. If the Comelec rejected the CoCs presented by this Comelec goon Bedol, what are they doing about it? Rejected? Then they should eject him towards a prison cell, don’t you think?

I do hope that Koko Pimentel can hang in there. Why are the rest of Comelec Mafia chiefs still fiddling? Are they negotiating with Malacanang over a Zubiri win?

And we must remember that Bedol must be punished for this affront!

  15. parasabayan parasabayan

Anna, they are waiting for the bribe money. Since only two of the TUtas made it to the magic 12, my guess is, the money did not flow the way the Kumolek Komisyon-ners wanted it to be. Maybe Ate Migs will fill in the short fall or maybe Malacanang(I very much doubt it will come from the tiyanak though).

  16. parasabayan parasabayan

    Bedol is a lying thief!

  17. TonGuE-tWisTeD TonGuE-tWisTeD

    chi, Nick,
Me Girl, So Very is an original coin. As is Cocoy’s Diana (Daya-na) Sobre.

Anyways, on Koko, let’s not put our guards down, leave no one behind! While Sonny’s victory is conquest, Koko’s is perfection.

All the way, guys. Pick up your brooms and let’s complete the sweep!

  18. PSB: If the these dumbos did not attempt to cheat in the first place, these problems of lost votes etc would not have occurred.

    ******
Dagdag to what you said above, Dimasidsing would still be alive, and the two female witnesses now missing would not have been abducted (baka ni-rape pa ng mga malilibog!) and killed ba? Gosh, when will these evils and injustices stop?

And these crooks have even the nerve to try to look holy when they can bear to see people killed, oppressed and abused just so they can stay in power. Filipinos should challenge the creep calling herself president to call it quit, and voluntary surrender herself to the rule of law so that justice may be done, and truth prevail. Enough of the hypocrisy. Filipinos are fed up of her “Let’s start anew!” when in her own admission she has stated that she is merely following the examples of her father! And you bet, she does it with more impunity and gusto—especially the squandering of public funds for her candidacy, ambition and worst, corrupting even the priests and nuns in her church!

Sorry, Ellen, for the long comments but can’t help it!

  19. Thanks, Nick, for the video on the announcement of Trillanes’ partial declaration. Gago rin ano? Partial declaration daw, hindi pa buuin!

Please post the video clip of the proclamation set for today, ha! I don’t have a Philippine news program because I don’t want to get a heart attack. Nakikiamuyong na lang!!! 😛

  20. Anna: And we must remember that Bedol must be punished for this affront!

    *****
You bet! I hope Koko, proclaimed as Senator or not, even when he is in fact a winner and should be declared winner now, should pursue his case against Bedol, the Comelec commissioners, the TU candidates for which these cheatings are done, and the masterminds of these cheatings. I’m looking forward to that day, because I know that with his brilliant mind, he can. It is a first, and this is going to be really worth watching and learning from.

  21. chi chi

    Tongue,

Thanks for the clarification about Me Girl So Very. 🙂

  22. Yuko, no problem.. we’ll get the video ASAP..

We’ll also be covering the other activities from Comelec with regards to Maguindanao..

Task Force Maguindanao will continue their “investigation” daw.. But, as I lamented, the other day, it’s still going to be a closed door session…

sheesh, and they want us to believe them, when they can’t even let us watch the hearing and hear the “excuses” that will come out of this Lintang Bedol’s mouth..
    *************
COMELEC Commissioner Nico-demo Ferrer who also heads Task Force Maguindanao said on Tuesday, it will be premature to say if provincial election supervisor Lintang Bedol can be charged with negligence over the “lost” municipal certificates of canvass and municipal statement of votes (SOVs).

“Let’s see first why he lost it. It’s very hard to conclude right now. My work kasi depends on the documents,” Ferrer said.

  23. Off topic: “OFW na pinugutan sa Riyadh ‘di na maiuuwi sa pamilya” says an Inquirer banner. But I find this injustice intolerable. I have not heard of anything like this being suffered by any Japanese except perhaps during the last world war when angry Filipinos for example lynched a lot many Japanese stragglers.

It was war, and it could not be helped, but when a country cannot negotiate for the lives of its citizens, it should STOP once and for all the deployment of Filipinos, where they can be subject to this kind of injustice, Moslem or no Moslem, and when this government even neglect orienting Filipinos of the dos and don’ts in countries where they are being sent legally and otherwise.

Gosh, ke Moslem or what ang KSA, the Philippine government should insist on sending back the body of the OFW to the Philippines.

  24. Dito nga sa Japan, kapag may patay na ganyan ibinibigay sa Philippine Embassy at within the embassy, Pilipinas na kaya nagagawa ang tradition ng Pilipinas. Bakit hindi iyan magawa sa KSA? Ano na ang ginagawa ng sinasabing diplomacy?

  25. tong_gress tong_gress

    off topic:

    regarding erap estrada’s case:
    Special State Prosecutor Dennis Villa-Ignacio:
to “refresh the people’s memory,” “It’s been six years since we began and the people might have already forgotten the details of this case,”

  26. Mrivera Mrivera

“Tamano has presented the Comelec the most sensible face-saving solution. If they have any care left for the country, they should adopt that.”

do robots of gloria makagarapal arroyo have feelings? they only move and do what the ugly witch and her hogband ip (PIG)dye say when “cash” is/are inserted in their “keyholes”.

  27. Update: No Failure of Election, instead Comelec has declared a field trip.

I wrote about this earlier, but the basic gist of it is that there is no failure of election. However Comelec refuses to set aside the Maguindanao Votes.
    ********************
But because local officials could not come to Comelec, and that it may be expensive for Comelec to fly 66 local officials into Manila, Comelec including Abalos will fly to Maguindanao, to collect documents that may be used for a re-canvass..
    *******************
My argument, and I have a lot, is that apparently Comelec could afford a costly Special Elections, but could not afford 66 plane tickets?? This is the last ditch effort of Abalos… It doesn’t make sense, but hey.. who said Abalos had to make sense.
    *******************
The other question I have, and this may be important, what documents will they find?? If Bedol took the municipal documents and statement of votes, what other document are there left??
    *******************
The only logical conclusion I can make is that they are trying to buy some time.

  28. Agree Nick! I’ve said that too a few times: Comelec is buying time, the offshoot of which is we may just find that Koko will be cheated out of a fair win.

The only way to solve the impasse is to push Comelec to the wall so they don’t go around fiddling with time some more. Filipinos with the help of media MUST REACT PRONTO!

  29. It’s as if, Comelec thought we wouldn’t analyze this, just because it’s Friday, Trillanes was proclaimed, and there was the Estrada trial..
    ***********
    Hell no! (pardon my language)
    ***********
Their illogical actions will not go unscrutinized, not while we have our brains about us.

  30. Magno, I doubt the Comelec mafiosi “… have any care left for the country,” They’re the ultimate ballbreakers of democracy; they conciously and wittingly do everything to fraud voters.

  31. nelbar nelbar

    6.9 daw as in baliktaran!?

  32. Golly, the votes for the TU in Maguindanao are daya votes! Bakit iyan tatanggapin ni Abaloslos? One dead whistleblower and two more abducted are enough proofs that the votes there are tampered with. They should not be accepted but have all the cheaters there arrested and jailed including the ugly linta! Ang bobo naman!

Implementing the laws in fact is not that difficult. It takes only a lot of common sense. When a law proves to be useless and not making life for the people is is intended to make people’s lives bearable and less traumatically oppressive, then it should be discarded with, including of course those useless executive orders meant to make it easier for the crook and her accomplices to drain the national coffers, etc.

Golly, puro kabisote!

  33. I just posted in Arbet’s blog http://www.awbholdings.com/blog/

You know Arbet, Gloria’s and Esperon’s perfidy did them in. It is very ironic that it was Gloria’s legal department headed by Gunggong Gonzales actually gave Trillanes the chance to become Senator.

    Lemme explain:

During the negotiations (of which Max Soliven was a member of the negotiating panel) for the surrender of the rebel soldiers under Trillanes, it was agreed that as part of the surrender terms and SANCTIONNED, APPROVED BY MALACANANG, the MAGDALO group would be charged under the Articles of War, i.e., eventually to be tried in a Court Martial, and not by civilian courts.

Matter of fact, Malacanang’s official conduit, former General Cimatu had received word from Malacanang to agree to the demands of Magadalo to be charged under Articles of War ONLY and relayed offical government acceptance to the Magdalos, again, that they would be dealt with under the Articles of War. Max Soliven wrote about this at length in several of his columns!

General Efren Abu who took the soldiers in after the surrender at Oakwood knew this. (That’s why I was surprised that when he became the Chief of Staff, he didn’t honour the agreement made by the government but instead allowed the DoJ to meddle, i.e., charged the Magdalo group in civilian courts.

Max Soliven even called this government “traydor” if you remember and went on and on about what had agreed upon even as the DoJ was hauling the Magdalo group from one civilian court to the other.

Now, had Gloria’s perfidy not gotten the better of her, she would have honoured what government agreed upon on the terms of surrender and would have allowed military (Articles of War) to prevail; Magdalo would have faced a Court Martial and am pretty sure, given the theb black and white circumstances of military violations, Magdalo group would have been convicted in quicker fashion.

But because our civilian justice system is so slow and because of the incompetence of Gonzales (to the extraordinary advantage of Trillanes), see where it got them? Trillanes, after 4 years – the trial not being over, therefore there couldn’t be any conviction, hence Trillanes has no “criminal record” to speak of and could run for public office!

Funny isn’t it that Gloria herself cut her own nose to spite herself with her fiddling about – her lack of honour, her utter perfidy, her own stupidity and idiocy eventually did her in!

So somehow, Gunggong Gonzales is to be CREDITED for his idiocy, stupidity, imbecility! Hahhahahah!

(Hahahahah!

  34. Don’t believe that lie via the Pidal journalists that So Very Me Gal is going to overtake Koko with the daya votes! Taragis why are they counting those votes? Puede ba mag-concede na si So Very Me Gal at baka maawa pa ako sa kaniya?

  35. Sampot Sampot

Birds of the same feather flock together.

  36. So Very Me Gal, wont overtake KOKO, it can be seen in N. Cotabato and S. Cotabato…

Sabi nila, mga bailiwack daw nila, pero talo si Me Gal So Very, in those regions.

Let’s not forget, Nene has done well in those areas too..

  37. Sampot Sampot

  38. luzviminda luzviminda

    From Nick’s site:
“Abalos said that it might be too expensive for all 66 Maguindanao election officers — from the original 22 who have been served subpoenas — to come to Manila.

To this suggestion, the exasperated Abalos replied; “Comelec does not have enough funds to get them all [the election officers] here.”

That last statement, there is the controversy in my view. They cannot afford 66 Magundanao Election Officers to fly to Manila, but apparently they had the money to declare a failure of election, declare a special elections, prepare more election documents, require teachers and other election officials to set up elections as well as canvassing, and probably send some military battalions to guard the elections.

Apparently they could afford the much more expensive Special Elections, but cannot afford 66 plane tickets.”

    ————————

    Nick,

Abalos and KUMOLEK are really UNBELIEVABLE and SSSOOOOOOO FUNNY!!!

Imagine we will have a FAKE SENATOR in the person of MigZ ‘Chuva’ Zubiri!!!

  40. luzviminda luzviminda

Actully, pwede naman nila hilingin sa AFP na i-transport ang 66 na election officers with the said ‘documents’ using their big planes, tutal ginagamit na rin lang naman nila ang AFP.

  41. Luz,

“i-transport ang 66 na election officers with the said ‘documents’ using their big planes”

That would be the most JUDICIOUS THING TO DO, indeed!

Hahahah! And knowing the condition or lack of maintenance of our military planes – hehe! There’s a chance we might not have a COMELEC at all – hahahahah!

  42. luzviminda luzviminda

  43. luzviminda luzviminda

    Anna,

Kung mangyari yon. Baka fate na talaga!

  44. chi chi

  45. Sampot Sampot

“Let’s not forget, Nene has done well in those areas too..” – nick

    Precisely.

In fact, Mindanao and the flight of the Muslims are the inspiration that led him to author the Local Government Code and his strong advocacy for Federalism.

I don’t think any Pimentel would lose in Mindanao. Principle, courage, tenacity, are but a few words synonymous to this name.

  46. luzviminda, your solution would be another logical solution… But in all honesty, it’s obvious what they’re doing.
    ****************
We can’t assume Comelec to act logically, it’s just not their way.

    Anna,

That’s what we need…no more dirty Comelec officials, so we can start a new leaf. Baka matakot sila at hindi tumuloy, when they read us. heheh!

  48. chi chi

Pupusta ako, Koko will be proclaimed soon!

Abalos has no recourse left, bistado na sila! Tita Me Girl so Very is playing a game that s’he won’t win!

Bobo rin pala itong si Tita Migs. Kung siya ay nag-concede, s’he could always claim that s’he, too, did sacrifice for “unification” and “peace”, and can always go back to politics in 2010! Baka meron na siyang pag-asa noon. Sila naman ni Adel ang magharap!

    GO! KOKO GO!

  49. Valdemar Valdemar

Tamano has a point. Leave the proclamation at that. The COCs are not submitted so canvass MAGUINDANAO as zero bonus for the SENATORs. No miracle for Zubiri. Koko, you won, Senator!

Wala man lang additional proof!

Dahil isinisingit nila ang mabahong singit ni Me Girl So Very! Babuyan ito na katakot-takot!

Laban Koko!

  54. Told you guys, abolish this useless agency, Comelec, but before doing that paalisin muna iyong mga boyfriends ni Unano sa mga alternative agencies to take over its function like the DILG for example. At saka, if Senator Trillanes needs information on how we do things in Japan, I’ll provide him a copy of our Election Code, plus the function of the Ministry of Internal Affairs. that is actually similar to the one made by Senator Pimentel but more specific and simply worded para maintindihan kahit ng mga idiot!!!

Sarili niya?

  55. chi chi

CUT THEIR HEADS!!!!!

  58. Malaya reports that the corrupt leader of some tribe in Maguindanao called “Ampatuan” says “there was
no failure of elections.” Oh yeah? Just because he has made sure that no more whistleblower will go to Manila and testify against him, that linta guy, et al, he should not be too sure Filipinos will believe him.

Apparently, Abaloslos cannot afford to incur the wrath of the Filipino electorates and is now waiting for what Ampatuan can do to silence any more whistleblower who will expose what they have been doing all along since the unano grabbed the presidency.

I have actually met people from the South who support Senator Pimentel and will be willing to protect him and his son from these cheaters. Dagdag pa iyong mga tao sa Luzon and the Visayas. Sabi nga Ampatuan din ang nagbabanta sa kuratong na Ampatuang inaasahan ni So Very Me Girl magdadagdag ng boto niya, fake or no fake!!!

    Sabi ni mami_noodles:
COC = Certificate of Cheating (ang galing!)

    Heto pa:

    ER = Elections Retouched
    SOV = Switching of Votes
    PBOC= Provincial Board of Cheats
    NBOC= National Board of Cheats
BEI = Board of Election Impostors

I knew there’s something wrong with this phrase above…

    …flight of the Muslims…

It should be …”plight of the Muslims…”

    Sorry, Koks.

I think we should start shifting gears to our fight for good governance. This year we must move for the Full Automation of the whole electoral system.

From registration to proclamation of winning candidates, the process must be automated. We must designed a system with the least human intervention required. I cannot accept using merely counting machines, because we’ll only be automating the counting of fake ballots.

I’m thinking of establishing a Forum that will be a repository of ideas how this can be done.

We shall not wait for this government or the next to work on this very fundamental part of our democratic system.

Good governance will start only by the immediate removal of the unano and her company of kurakots and liars.

    Ystakei:

Ang problema, sa anong pamamaraan, by force or impeachment?

Because i don’t think that this Maniac will step down in 2010 unless she’s willing to surrender her immunity from lawsuits.

Either way, we still need to automate the next election. And i heard from most TU/Comelec allies that they prefer to use Counting Machines which not only are obsolete but impractical in our situation.

Your concern on hackers is valid. But one vital requirement of an effective hacking is access to the system. That’s why the highest potential threat to every computer network is not the hacker outside of the system but any person having access inside that system – the computer operators and not every Garci or Bedol in the marshland of Maguindanao.

Biometrics is one technology that can be useful in maintaining the integrity of the Registered Voters List. In simple terms, Biometrics is the scanning and recording of a person’s unique physical characteristics like fingerprints, iris, facial features, etc.

The main advantages of biometrics over a standard system are:

    * biometric traits cannot be lost or forgotten (while passwords can)
    * biometric traits are difficult to copy, share and distribute (passwords can be announced in crackers’ websites)
    * they require the person being authenticated to be present at the time and point of authentication

The ATM Banking System is very effective just using the PIN.

If we can use both PIN and Biometrics, then i don’t think a Bedol or Garci can change their physical characteristics to that of ours and proceed with what they are expert of.

The COMELEC’s yo-yo policy in handling Maguindanao fraudulent election results is a bad precedent. Why? Are they instructed by Gloria Arroyo to dislodge Koko Pimentel in the winning circle? Elections chief Benjamin Abalos will go to Maguindanao on Monday to personally retrieve supporting election documents. Congenital liar Alinta Bedol declared it was stolen. I think this a long shot move. Where does he start retrieving election documents? The electoral body is showing its partisanship in favor of TU’s Migz Zubiri.

  65. zen2 zen2

    Diego,

Yo-yo policy, is so polite, as a term to characterize the electoral body.

The way I see it, is that Comelec has transformed itself before our own eyes, into some gangland stuff; a grossly-prostituted constitutional body, a safe-haven for cheats-and-criminals pretending ( with no success) to be impartial election officers have taken over most of the steads !

Greed, knows no bounds indeed. Not only does it continue to insult the electorate on its absurd lines of reasoning, but by being impervious to reason and to voice of the people who want nothing less than their true will reflected in the votes; is threading dangerously, riding high on people’s disenchantment, could lead into a route with disastrous results.

Even a 3rd-grader could readily see through the veneer of Comelec’s gross hypocrisy; it does not bother anymore to hide its own patented and peculiar double-talk, feigning anger at Lintang Bedol, at first, then threatening to prosecute the Provincial Election Officer later; ALL, only for a show !!

The latest word is to accompany Bedol, down to Maguindanao, purportedly, “…to LOOK for the missing ER’S.”

Whoooaaa!, and where are they going to fish, and find it this time?

In some banana plantation, once more?!!

ABALOS,et al ng COMELEC,IBASURA AT PALITAN NA !!

  66. Diego K. Guerrero Diego K. Guerrero

You are right, Comelec has transformed into Mafia like organized crime body. Abalos’ prime mission is to dislodge Pimentel.

    Excerpts from Kontra Daya
Election watchdog Kontra Daya said Commission on Elections (Comelec) Chair Benjamin Abalos is an accomplice to the massive fraud in Maguindanao.

Fr. Joe Dizon, Kontra Daya spokesperson, said, “Abalos does not confront head on the accusations of massive fraud in Maguindanao. Instead, he obscures the situation to give leeway for machinations in favor of administration candidate Miguel Zubiri.”

Dizon said, “By refusing to exclude the highly tainted provincial certificate of canvass from the national canvassing and proclaim the Genuine Opposition’s Aquilino “Koko” Pimentel, Abalos is still finding ways to get Team Unity’s Zubiri on the 12th slot.”

  67. Sampot:

The performance of those who conducted the election registration using those machines to data-base the voters was good enough reason for me to delay any plan to automate the election in the Philippines as yet. Point is kailan matutong maging honest ang mga pilipino? Nasanay sila sa kalokohan since the end of WWII, and as Rizal feared more than a century back, kulang sa training in many things, kaya wala nang ginawang matino except now perhaps when the 11M voted for Senator Trillanes in a desperate attempt to right the wrong with full hope and confidence that he will respond to their call and needs in the way God has inspired him to do!!!

Unahin munang alisin si Unano and then we talk of this automation thing!!!

  68. You’ll be surprised to know Sampot that over in Japan, despite the capability to make every automatic now, elections are done manually. Very orderly ang registration system so there is no need to register voters every time there is an election.

  69. …..capability to make EVERYTHING automatic now….

    Ystakei:

I understand your concern. If i only have the resources to kill these bastards i will do it.

I have at least 10 relatives who are teachers. Two of them retired as principals. I’ve seen how teachers suffer during the 1992 Presidential Elections when i enlisted myself as PPCRV/Namfrel Volunteer. This suffering continues even today.

In 1992, i reported at 7am and go home the next morning. That means I and the teachers/BEI were serving that day for full 24hrs! And it was a “normal” election day for us since there was nothing of the usual violence that had occurred in other places.

What made the process patently slow is the paperworks where the only authorized to fill up that multipage ER’s are the members of the BEI which in our case that day was composed of two retirable “old maids” who can hardly press the pen to the right column!

The second rationale i would like to point out is the need of the OFWs to participate in this process. Their substantial contribution to the economy is more than enough to allow them to have a say in the direction this country would go. And the process to which they can participate should be made more accessible and convenient. There is no better way than to allow the OFWs to vote online.

The process of Systems Analysis and Design, Software Development, Implementation and Testing takes time. That’s why i’m contemplating of starting the process as soon as possible.

We can start with the Analysis and Design Phase even with Glueria around. In fact, we can also run a “mock election” online to test the design. The idea here is to influence the design by which the Comelec may have to pursue.
