Who is afraid of Cavaliers?

I’m not a bit worried about the plan of Senators Rodolfo Biazon, Panfilo Lacson, Gregorio Honasan and Antonio Trillanes IV to form an informal Cavaliers Club in the Senate.

Cavalier is a term used for an alumnus of the Philippine Military Academy.

For the first time in the history of the Philippine Senate, out of the 23 senators (Alfredo Lim’s seat is vacant after his election as Manila mayor), four are PMA graduates with Trillanes, who is still awaiting proclamation, as the latest addition.

Lacson said he discussed the idea of forming a Cavaliers Club when he visited Trillanes, who is currently detained at the Marine brig in Fort Bonifacio in connection with the so-called 2003 Oakwood mutiny. The rationale is to be more effective in pursuing common advocacies because they would constitute one-sixth of the Senate.

The idea of a “Cavaliers Club” in the Senate has elicited strong reactions from some quarters. The Philippine Daily Inquirer, in its editorial, said “The forming of the PMA Club is also dangerously elitist.”

Inquirer columnist Juan Mercado quotes the warning of scholar Samuel Huntington that all too often, the military mind is authoritarian and mechanically subservient. “Even in the best of times, this mindset bugs democratic governance.”

Surely there is no dearth of examples of repressive regimes run by military men.

But there are also repressive governments run by non-military persons. The best example is Gloria Arroyo under whose stolen presidency hundreds of activists and journalists have been killed or have disappeared.

It was Gloria Arroyo, a non-military, who issued Proclamation 1017 that curtailed our basic rights of free expression.

It was Gloria Arroyo, a non-military, who perverted and destroyed the democratic institution of check and balance with her EO 464.

It was Gloria Arroyo, a non-military, who perverted and destroyed elections, the essence of the democratic principle of government by the people.

Trillanes had pointed out that draconian measures being implemented by the government are the brainchild of her national security adviser Norberto Gonzalez, a non-military.

It’s ironic that the country’s only president who came from the military, Fidel Ramos, was most conscious of adhering to the Constitution.

Commodore (ret.) Rex Robles sees a Cavaliers Club in the Senate as a positive thing. “It’s coalition building. It’s part of a political process. What could be more democratic than that?”

Robles scoffs at the line of UP professor Carolina Hernandez (quoted by Mercado) that “If those who have this (military) mind-set dominate the governing elite, democratization and transition from (dictatorship) suffers.”

Robles said that can only come from a “charlatan like Carolina Hernandez, who foists herself upon the public as a military expert.” He said Hernandez “harbors deep-seated prejudices against the military.”

Robles said that the three senior senators – Biazon, Lacson and Honasan – have never been implicated in corruption scandals which cannot be said of non-military officials of the government.

He said these cavaliers bring with them the qualities of leadership and accountability they learned in the PMA. They also bring with them the PMA’s honor code which is “A cadet does not lie, cheat nor steal nor tolerate violation of the Code.

If we had a cavalier president in 2004,”Hello Garci” would not have happened

    Ma’m Ellen

I’m posting from Canada as I leave our country three days ago with the assurance that our man Trillanes is now a duly elected senator of the Republic of the Philippines. It’s just that the administration and the military establishment is in panic what to do with him. As columnist Conrado de Quiros, How do you solve the problem with Trillanes? The more than 11 million Filipinos who voted for him cannot be ignored.

It is in this regard that when Sen. Lacson aired their proposed Cavalier’s Club, proposal pa lamang, it is already bringing chill and shiver to some concerned quarters. Daily Inquirer, in its editorial, came too early on their apprehension without checking some historical data as you mentioned. I believe the group will gain adherents in the days to come because the message is clear.

In time like this, we need men with resolve, hindi yong palaging namamangka sa dalawang ilog. We need men who follow the dictum, who does not lie, cheat nor steal.

    Ellen,

    We know who.

They’re the same asses who have screwed the military over and over.

One’s a fake commander-in-chief who used the military to rig an election. Another’s a lumbering hippopotamus who has been pouring in money to convert the AFP into a private army. The other’s a chief-of-staff who ordered his men not to vote for a certain senatoriable and promptly got a rude slap when his men did exactly the opposite of what he said.

It’s gonna be so fun watching all those blue ribbon hearings on ANC.

Who else but Gloria Pidal, Assperon and minions! Could cavaliers be the reason why as of now Abalos and aide are saying that Trillanes can still lose the election!

    Keep the fire burning, Sonny!

Gloria’s cycle of existence, nagdadamay pa!

CAVALIERS, here we GO! GO! GO!

  4. Excellent idea Ellen! This country needs a united front against Gloria and her cabal of ex-PMAers in her government!

  5. xanadu xanadu

Instead of being apprehensive of the Cavalier’s Club (Biazon, Lacson, Honasan, Trillanes) other senators must also group themselves aside from the earlier Wednesday Club (Villar, Roxas & Pangilinan) which could be moribund with the defeat of Recto and Drilon’s term ended. They could present a united front in some non-partisans issues.

I suggest the following for the rest:

1.Young Guns – Chiz Escudero, Noynoy Aquino, Alan Cayetano, Koko Pimentel.

    2. Senior Citizens- Enrile, 83; Joker Arroyo, 80; Angara, 72; Nene Pimentel; Dick Gordon.

    3. Desperate Women – Miriam DS, Jamby Madrigal, Pia Cayetano, Loren Legarda.

    4. Chairs Wrecking Stars- Jinggoy Estrada, Bong Revilla, Lito Lapid

  6. At least if and when these ex-PMAers turned senators topple Gloria in stealth fashion, the act wouldn’t be termed military-led coup d’état but civilian coup d’état which is absolutely possible; obviously, to succeed they must be able to count on the sympathetic elements found in the military if the going gets tough but I do believe that the toughs can get going when that happens.

I really hope they topple Gloria before 2010!

  7. Emilio_OFW Emilio_OFW

If there is a Wednesday Club in the Senate, I don’t see any reason why these REAL PMAers can not form the Cavaliers Club.

As retired Commodore Rex Robles said, “These cavaliers bring with them the qualities of leadership and accountability they learned in the PMA. They also bring with them the PMA’s honor code which is “A CADET DOES NOT LIE, CHEAT NOR STEAL NOR TOLERATE VIOLATION OF THE CODE”.

Time to teach the Blinky Tiyanak’s generals some basic lessons.

  8. Emilio,

Sorry to be a kill joy but much as I am for a Cavaliers Club, I don’t believe it would do them good with Rex Robles, one of the most dishonest PMAers I know, uttering things on their behalf.

  9. Commo Rex Robles, when he was N-5 (ACNS Plans) was suspected to be responsible most for a lot of irregularities in N-5 during his stint there that his FOIC had to relieve him with due haste and almost put him in floating status (no pun intended) or placed in the “closet” for the irregularities.

  10. Ellen,

Tarantada talaga itong si Gloria ano? Imagine commemorating Independence Day, historical day, considered the most official of all in the history of the Republic on the 11th of June?

The father already changed it but ok, it became officially the date thereafter, how could this bogus, unelected president of the Republic even begin to do something as shitty as commemorating it very officially at that on a day which is not the official day?

Ano na naman iyang bastusan na yan?

Call them by any name, who cares? What is important is that they can bring home the bacon. Hope they can do something over the long march of veterans, dead or alive yet, to get their long overdue pension arrears, death benefits, education for their kids. The veterans are fading fast. Who cares about them?
There is no budget anymore for them. Even in the new butget proposal of 1.2 trillion pesos to be submitted to congress next July.

    Off topic, hindi lang matiis.

The Pidal woman was talking about anti-poverty programs in her Independence Day speech, but her necklace and earrings were huge enough (gusto pang talbugan ang royal jewels ni Queen Liz) to bury her! A hypocrite through and through!

Bwahahah!

“A cadet does not…tolerate violation of the code.” Whose brilliant idea is this? BIAZON? what has he done so far to stop the violation of the code? Did he try to stop the cheatiing, stealing…? HONASAN? Wasn’t he caught in the house of his “mistress” according to the news? Is this not Cheating? And did he not turn balimbing just so he can be released to campaign? Can we trust him? LACSON- well, is he really there for us to fight against stealing, cheating and the violation of the code? TRILLANES- he is our hope to fight against cheating, stealing and the violation of the code. And to the rest of the Cavaliers alumni of PMA- who are now serving the administration- and those who have retired I think this code was only followed when THEY WERE CADETS. NOW THEY ARE GRADUATES AND OFFICERS- do they care? Anong say-mo!

  16. Sarmiento said he will bring up the matter of reopening the controversial Hello Garci scandal before the commission en banc.

It is interesting to read in the Tribune today that, Sarmiento, who was commissioner in charge of the Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao (ARMM) and former head of the Task Force Maguindanao, until he was caught lying on video and suddenly felt ill and sought a transfer informed the media he will be coming up with a memorandum to the poll body to reopen the Garci case and investigate the individuals within the poll body said to be involved in the scandal.
Is he just a smart cookie having been caught lying viewed by the whole world on television and suddenly becoming ill now informs media that he’s submitting a memorandum to reopen the Garci case – why? does Sarmiento realise that the shit is about to hit the fan with a informal Cavaliers Club.
Abalos in Panic Mode, Nah! really eh eh eh! smile

  17. TonGuE-tWisTeD TonGuE-tWisTeD

    Rose,
The Cavaliers may be something to look forward to. Trillanes has expressed his intention to follow Lacson’s lead in shunning pork barrel. If there’s any Senator now who’s more concerned with the flight of incarcerated officers, it’s Biazon. Honasan may have earned suspicion from his meeting with Arroyo, but his record does not support this suspicion either.

The Cavaliers may be the ultimate elixir, the antidote for the scheming bootlicking ex-Generals Ebdane, Mendoza, Ermita, Reyes, Berroya, et al.

  18. I am presently translating an interview with an 80-year-old Filipino soldier who was a graduate of the PMA, and what I hear I like. It is just too bad that with too much fraternizing with crooks like Gloria Unano, a lot many PMAers should have been kicked out and stripped of any title, privilege, etc. accorded to the more gallant and well-deserving idealistic, patriotic, etc. graduates of that former prestigious academy. This holds true likewise with the police academy that the idiotic criminal calling herself “President of the Philippines” has reduced to some breeding ground for notorious criminals and hoodlums.

It’s pathetic. I have no objection really to this Cavaliers’ Club if indeed Lacson is sincere in bringing back sanity and logic in that land of our birth that has been tranported into some land of the hopeless and desperate that majority of Filipinos are imploring the Lord above to save even through a man named Antonio Trillanes IV.

Abalos, beware! Huwag mong ideklara si Trillanes as Senator e baka matuluyan ang gusto mong rebolusyon!

Mabuhay ka Senator Trillanes! God bless you!

  19. xanadu xanadu

The announcement of Sarmiento that he will resuscitate the Hello Garci case could be lauded at the first glance but still, everything that comes from Comelec is suspect. O baka naman ito’y isang paraan to divert the public attention from the still hanging proclamation of Trillanes and Pimentel?

  20. I forgot to mention that what impressed me about the old man, who would be featured in a documentary on WWII to be shown on NHK in August this year, was what he said in the interview that I thought reflected on the real sentiments of genuine graduates of PMA, and when I say genuine, sans the kind of graduates like Esperon, et al. crooks!

The old man said, “Professional Soldier ako, graduate ng PMA, at noong guerra, may sueldo man o wala, sumali ako sa guerrilla dahil tungkulin kong ipagtanggol ang bayan ko kahit sa gagawin ko ay mawala ang buhay ko at maapektuhan ang kinabukasan ng anak ko at pamilya ko. Pagmamahal sa bayan muna!”

Yup, pagmamahal sa bayan muna, not pagmamahal sa isang magnanakaw na sinungaling pa!!!

    Anna said:
“…his FOIC had to relieve him with due haste and almost put him in floating status (no pun intended) or placed in the “closet” for the irregularities.”

In the case of “closet”, was there any pun intended? (flips a limp wrist)

  22. Chi: The Pidal woman was talking about anti-poverty programs in her Independence Day speech,

    ******

What anti-poverty program? Chi, from day one she grabbed power, she has been saying that, but what we have seen is that this idiot has used the anti-poverty program very conveniently by her, her husband and cohorts to fatten their pockets with all those padded bills in procuring those ramen and rice that she distributes to the needy for some photo-op and teaching kids who are beneficiaries of her so-called “tawid-gutom program” (watch out for how her spinmaster will use this term) the art of blackmarketing as when she said that their parents can resell those ramen and rice as higher prices!

If that is not corrupting, etc. Filipinos, what is?

I know a manufaturer and repacker of those foods she distributes for the photo-op. Yumaman ng husto!

Worst is when this creep hoards those rice from some US charity. Remember iyong mga nabulok na bigas from the US na inamag sa isang warehouse sa Batangas when Perez na sabi nila ay lalaki niya when he was the DOJ Secretary.

Pwe! Nakakarimarim ang mga pinagsasabi!

ellen this is a little late
but others might still be interested on
personal reactions to the AFP Survey on Trillanes:
divided into little parts,so it won’t be
    heavy reading:

In the panic suvery of the AFP, why refer to LtSg Trillanes as Ex-Lt.? Is he already discharge from the service? Has he nor rank at all now? Or is it because he is already an elected Senator. Why then not refer to him as Hon. Trillanes or simply Senator Trillanes. Is being disrespectful of an elected official not “conduct unbecoming of an officer?” Isn’t Esperon and his generals who supports the mockery and violation of the constitution deserving of being tried by a military court? Also for disrespect to an elected senator?

With an ROTC (seems more honourable now than being Peemayer) background, here are my answers (Strongly Agree, Agree, Unsure, Disagree, Strongly Disagree) with some explanations.

STRONGLY AGREE- “1. In the May 2007 elections, it is possible that many personnel, active or retired, have also supported the candidacy of ex-Lt. Trillanes. (It is not only possible, It’s highly probable that about 85% of active or retired military personnel VOTED for Trillanes.

STRONGLY AGREE- 2. Voters have cast their votes for Trillanes to openly express their disappointment with the present national leadership. (This is the naked truth).

STRONGLY AGREE 3. The votes cast in favor of ex-Lt. Trillanes reflect the people’s trust in his competence for good governance. (He has a masteral background, theoretical and practical exposure to good governance which you can not claim for the other candidates)

STRONGLY DISAGREE- 4. Within the military organization, a Trillanes vote indicates a compelling desire for change in the military/defense establishment. (It is more than compelling desire but a loud signal, a loud call for change.)

STRONGLY DISAGREE- 5. Within the AFP, a Trillanes vote implies defiance of the AFP top brass. (It is not defiance, or insubordination, but an assertion of a democratic right to run for office, it is more an indictment of rotten eggs in the military with the people’s vote judging to affirm or disconfirm the rightness of his cause, the conviction by vote of the wrong doings of military leadership, it was a brilliant way of bringing the case of the treasonous generals before the people for judgment.)

STRONGLY DISAGREE “6. I perceive ex-Lt. Trillanes, who is a military man, to have limited knowledge of governance. (This is most stupid of a military mind crafting a question. The question slanders Fidel Ramos, Ermita, Ebdane, Mendoza, Lumibao, Esperon, Tolentino. Palparan, The question suggests some truth in the case of performance of the just named generals. It’s a case unheard of when the accuser is pointing ten of his fingers back at him.)

STRONGLY AGREE -7. Trillanes is successful in his senatorial bid because of the public’s dissatisfaction with the military/defense leadership. (But more than that, every vote cast for Trillanes is spittle directed to all the faces of Gloria’s henchmen and hatchet men who
oppressed the people by murder, harassment, and wholesale thievery of the people’s money and the country’s wealth.

  29. jay cynikho jay cynikho

Oops that was long, and hard reading, but’s that what many feel the country needs, long and hard reading and thinking.

    Continuation of survey reaction:

STRONGLY AGREE – 8. Ex-Lt. Antonio Trillanes definitely provides strong leadership. ( Definitely as demonstrated in Oakwood, and in winning the election while behind bars)

STRONGLY AGREE -9. Many have supported Trillanes’ candidacy because he represents reform in the Armed Forces. (But more than that, reform is required by the people in a larger context, the entire Philippine Government – the three branches and the entire bureaucracy. That’s how Trillanes’ mind is broader than the military minds who cooked up this survey.)

STRONGLY DISAGREE 10. The concerns of the soldiers will be better represented when Trillanes becomes senator. (That’s bed bug thinking. Trillanes when finally proclaimed, is senator of the realm, of the country, of all Filipinos everywhere. But the military, the soldiers and the upright commissioned officers, are without doubt closest to his heart. I believe the good members of the AFP will be better represented than the rotten ones.)

STRONGLY AGREE “11. Ex-Lt. Trillanes should be released on bail by the time he sits as senator. (The people overwhelmingly had spoken. Trillanes votes are unequivocal: Arroyo is a bogus President, Oakwood was righteous, the outlaws and rascals must be thrown out of office; the votes meant more than being out on bail, to be set free no less so Trillanes can put the crooks behind bars.

STRONGLY DISAGREE – 12. Ex-Lt. Trillanes should have waited for the conclusion of the charges against him before running for public office. (This is silly. To wait for the rape to be completed before doing anything. Only a pervert voyeur will do that.

  30. jay cynikho jay cynikho

    This is the last part:

STRONGLY AGREE – 13. Coming from the military organization, ex-Lt. Trillanes can bring forth significant changes for the AFP should he get elected. (Like Question 10, the ulterior motive behind the question is palpable. Of Course Not, if those answering the questions KNOW their Generals, this is a BIG LAUGH. See how palpable is so deeply mysterious? And Funny?

STRONGLY DISAGREE – 14. Ex-Lt. Trillanes wants to be in power so he cannot be made accountable for his fault in the Oakwood event. (Definitely No. Trillanes is different from Gloria and her Generals who will do anything and everything to stay in power so they cannot be made accountable for the crimes they have committed against their people and country, I think Trillanes run for office to try save himself from the clutches of these criminals. Querubin, Miranda, etc. Should have run for Congress in their districts so their people could have judge their guilt or innocence.

STRONGLY DISAGREE – 15. I believe that ex-Lt. Trillanes is supported by politicians who want a divided AFP. (Dividing the AFP is silly introspection. What profit a politician (Binay, Pimentel, Cayetano, Escudero, etc)) in a divided AFP? A divided AFP is good for AFP, bad for Goria because she can be thrown to the righteous.

DISAGREE -“16. The votes that ex-Lt. Trillanes got are expressions of the public’s diminished confidence in the military organization. (The 2007 elections is BIG VOTE against Gloria and the Generals who protect her. Not an expression of diminished confidence against the military organization. Percentage-wise the military organization, more than 80% are loyal to their constitutional role of providing defence and will die for their country. A very small percentage who now calls the shots and gives orders are only for protecting themselves and their sinecures

DISAGREE – 17. The support that Trillanes got represents a silent approval that agrees with extra-constitutional resort to achieve organizational change. (This is palpable illogic if not downright stupid. Support by voting is not extra constitutional, therefore it cannot represent an extra constitutional thing like killing Trillanes guards to spring him out of the stockade. I can’t see how doing a constitutional thing means silent approval of doing an extra-constitutional act. In simple words Mr. Soldier respondent, Trillanes led the Oakwood incident, People still voted for him. Do you think the people will rise against the government? Do you think we should be afraid and should start neutralizing somebody?

DISAGREE 18. If this country requires radical alternatives such as … a coup d’etat to achieve reforms, then so be it. (What kind of survey is this? Are you asking me to vote for a coup d’etat? by military officers of questionable integrity and patriotism?)

STRONGLY DISAGREE – 19. Voluntarily, ex-Lt. Trillanes could have forged an alliance with the Left for his senatorial candidacy. (Being well-guarded and gagged Trillanes is not a position to forge any useful alliance with anybody much more the left. The military is not that incompetent as to escape notice of Trillanes’s consorting with the enemy. Anybody who criticized the government and supports Trillanes can just be branded as leftist or communists. If I AGREE, I will be putting down the military for lack of capability to do its job properly on Trillanes.

STRONGLY DISAGREE – 20. Left-leaning groups have supported Trillanes because they saw in him a rallying point to promote their cause.” (This question is crazy. Not all people are imbeciles even if they are military or leftist ideologues. Left leaning groups might have supported Trillanes, but to be their rallying point to promote their cause? These leftists will all fall from their mountain chairs , laughing. Idiotization of those surveyed is very difficult to accomplish in the absence of intelligence thinking.

I do accept that under normal conditions and in a normal country where the rule of law and justice for all prevail, I would have been a bit wary of such very public pronouncements by a Supreme Court chief justice but these are abnormal times in an abnormal country with abnormal rulers and abnormal governance; that a man whose position calls for extraordinary discretion should come to the fore and denounce the lawlessness in the country, an act that could be interpreted as a direct jab against a co-equal branch of government, can only be admired.

As for the questionnaire, it is not a questionnaire at all. It was simply a propaganda leaf which purpose is to strengthen earlier military pronouncements of military-rebels-out-to-sack-gloria-willing-to-cooperate-with-the-left kinda thingy.

Every Filipino knows the answers to those questions, it is so friggin stupid for the AFP brass not to know by now what the people’s pulse is, worse, the pulse of their men even if judging by the outcome of the elections alone. They do not need to do a survey. They just need to point their nozzles at the Hemorrhoids in their midst and blow them away.

Military intelligence, applied to the our AFP is one oxyfuckinmoron!

Caval-valan!

  39. Tongue,

Heheh! The guy he said that too became FOIC.

Pera natin yun a!”

    “Chuvaliers, starring Me-Girl So Very.”

Hahahahah! Kayo talagang nasa Pinas, makulay na makulay! Sumasasakit na ang tiyan ko sa katatawa! LOL

    Me-Girl So Very, hahahahaha!!!

  42. chi chi

  43. Anyway, let’s not beat the poor PMAers too much! There are MANY good elements in their midst, just that they are asleep! Wish they’d wake up soon enough.

Some of them have like BGen D Lim, Col Ariel Querubin, and the younger, not so senior officers who are incarcerated in military stockades! They are the real, genuine, PMA Cavaliers!

  44. Meant, “Some of them have already woken up, like BGen D Lim, Col Ariel Querubin…”

  45. BTW, off-topic but I just found out that there is another “Pacman” who has nothing to do with boxing but is a well-known football player. Now the Pakyaw will have to content with that nicker instead of the Pacman. Mas bagay, Pakyaw na lang siya. Buti nga sa kaniya for aligning himself with the hoodlums! 😛

  46. chi chi

  48. The nickname stack because he was likened to some video game for kids that ate everything it could get its hands on; I recall seeing a gadget many years ago that children played with showing a kind of little spider that moved rapidly to eat its prey… That’s why Danding Cojuangco was called that, he sort of was likened to that little gadget insect.

  49. Hahahah!” binabaeng hipon?! ” May hipon bang babae?

  50. Ooops, stuck not stack! I think I’ll call it a day – am a bit sleepy. Btw, is Ellen back? Does anyone know if she’s back?

  51. Anna: can only be admired.

    *****

Can’t admire this guy, Anna. He should be doing his duties and responsibilities to the people, not to the unano regardless of whether or not he is another of her appoitees. There is nothing admirable in that. Doing one’s duties and responsibilities is not something to admire but expect done without delay, doubt and hesitation. Kung talagang matapang siya, gawin niya. He is being paid big sum for that!

  52. chi chi

Siempre Anna. Meron babae at lalaking hipon kasi nagkaka-anak sila e.

  53. Yuko,

That’s virtually what’s happening! When I said he was denouncing lawlessness, he was virtually attacking the independence day speech of Gloria.

PDI reports SC chief: RP not truly free due to election fraud.

Here’s some excerpts: In his speech in Filipino that was released to reporters, Puno said a country was not free if its people lacked education, were not aware of their rights and responsibilities, continued to wallow in poverty, and turned to a life of crime.

In narrating the historical facts that ignited the revolution more than 100 years ago, the Chief Justice also likened the killings then to the extrajudicial executions that plague the country at present.

In a Philstar report: News Flash
Filipinos won’t be free as long there is poverty, says chief justice Puno
    Tuesday, June 12, 2007 03:52 PM

The head of the Supreme Court said Tuesday that FIlipinos will be never be free as long as there is poverty, ignorance and electoral fraud.

Speaking during the rites celebrating the 109th Philippine Independence Day, Chief Justice Reynato Puno said that until there are those who would bastardize the sacred vote, the Filipino will not be free.

For a Supreme Court Chief Justice to go the whole hog, i.e., public pronouncements as strong as those, is to my mind, an important, very important step to bring back a bit of morality in this poorly and basely governed country.

Re: Comelec Commissionaire Sarmiento calls for revival of Hello Garci probe

Is he joking? Chairman Abalos is not interested to investigate the fraud-tainted 2004 elections. He reasoned out there’s no complainant. Reopening the Garci case without the cooperation of Abalos is a waste time and taxpayers’ money. Com. Sarmiento should exchange notes with Sen. Biazon to speed up the investigation. Alinta Bedol may spill the beans in order to save his ass. He is a potential state witness.
Sen. Rodolfo Biazon. chairs the Committee on National Defense had pinpointed Intelligence Service of the Armed Forces of the Philippines (ISAFP) as the source Hello Garci tapes. He cannot establish who masterminded or ordered the wiretapping due to Malacanang’s gag order. Cavaliers Lacson and Trillanes may join the Biazon committee. Assperon bilang na ang maliligayang araw mo.

  55. Anna: May hipon bang babae?

    *****

Meron naman Anna. Otherwise, wala nang mabubuntis na hipon! 😛 Kasi iyong binabae hindi puedeng manganak! Bwaahahahahahaha!

  56. Just imagine how those words coming from the institution that is supposed to be the sould of discretion in terms of political pronouncements, what SC Chief Justice Puno did (he had done the same thing a few weeks back when he denounced the Security Act or the anti-terrorism law)must have hit right at the heart of evil Gloria with her grandstanding! Quite remarkable I think!

  57. Dapat lang, Anna because it is his job, and as I have said, he is paid big money for it.

Point is I hope Puno is sincere and not just doing things on cue. Nakikiamuyong so to speak!

Sorry, but I just can’t trust anyone who associate with the creeps at the palace by the murky river.

  58. I don’t think so, Yuko! I read his opposition to the Security Act and believe me, in a normal nation with normal rule of law and normal governance, the Chief Justice of the Supreme Court usually doesn’t speak publicly AGAINST a law, denouncing the law that was crafted by the legislature; a normal SC Chief Justice is supposed to apply the law that’s been crafted but not to work against it.

In other words, while Puno is a Gloria appointee, I’m seeing something else in him – the voice of reason that could help change the tide of immoral governance in this country…

  59. Matter of fact, I think Puno has been under attack for his overt pronouncements against what ails the country.

Of course, I don’t know him but I think he is not Davide. Davide never as much as gave the slightest opinion in public that would embarass Gloria!

Thanks Tongue. I will look forward to the formation of Cavaliers Club. Bakit nga ba tahimik – nag self exile ba sa San Francisco- “I left my heart in SF” indeed.

  64. Rose:

Re Sarmiento, baka nagpaparinig lang iyan doon sa gustong magtanggal sa kaniya para ipasok ang isa pang sipsip kay Pandak to insure that there will be no repeat of the 2007 election where the opposition got big votes. She cannot afford to lose the chance to be queen, you see!

Kakanta iyan? In short, nakikiamuyong lang. Ang dami nila ngayong nag-aamuyong kaya keep up the fire burning against them crooks!

  65. chi chi

He can no longer save his sorry ass after what happened in Mindanao unless he opens his mouth about the dayaan at kung sino ang pinakamataas na nag-utos!

  66. parasabayan parasabayan

Until Trillanes gets sworn in as a Senator, nothing is for certain. With the dubious pronouncements of Abalaos et al, on the uncertainty of his win, I really think that all of the tiyanak’s cheat operators are doing a number to unseat him from the magic 12. I wonder if there are entities watching over his remaining votes, day and night! Tiyanak will do anything and everything in her power to make sure that Trillianes will not be a sanator. She did that with Alan Cayetano but the people watched over his votes so he won! Who is watching over Sonny’s votes? The cheat operators of tiyanak are looking for the minutest opportunity to alter the results of the elections in the South to allow her TUtas to take the 11th and 12th place. She already resorted to more killings to show how desperately she wants to put two of her TUtas in the magic 12. I hope the people are continuing to watch over the remaining votes to ensure Sonny’s win. Let us continue to be vigilant!

  67. parasabayan parasabayan

I had been reading Puno’s position on a lot of our national issues. He sure is showing his opposition to the tiyanak’s wicked ways. He is openly criticizing the human rights violations of tiyanak. He has also warned about the abuse of the anti terror bill in the hands of this corrupt regime. The Supreme court has time and again shown that it has its own conviction. If the Abalaos will make it to the supreme court, he sure will be the rotten egg which will infect the supreme justice system.

  68. parasabayan parasabayan

Sarmiento may be another peacock! He was caught lying so he wants to redeem himself, perhaps. Or he is another deceiving bastard. What he says is different from what he does. Isn’t this tiyanak’s way?

Sarmiento has lost credibility. Kahit anong sabihin yan, hindi pakikinggan because of the now famous short movie entitled “ER nyo, itatago ko” daw.

Whatever reason Sarmiento has for intending to revive “hello garci” has been outrightly rejected by the Enchanted Kingdom by the murky Pasig river.

Tandang Edong said, “Let’s leave behind things that will not contribute to our nation’s progress,”! Hindi ko alam kung and matandang palekero ay tanga, gago, ungas, hunghang or just in a plain denial mode.

As long as “hello garci” is not fully explained and solved in public, Pinas can not move on!

“Let’s move on” sabi ni Tandang Edong parroting his milady!

Where to Ermita, to the precipice of death?! Kayo na lang ni Gloria!

  73. Chi, What you said there is the bottom line:

“As long as “hello garci” is not fully explained and solved in public, Pinas can not move on!”

    Tapos!

  74. From Ramon Mayuga:

Your article dealt about the plan of Senators Biazon, Lacson, and Senator-elect Honasan who are said to woo neophyte Senator-elect Trillanes to form what they wanted to call the “Cavaliers Club,” themselves all being graduates of the Philippine Military Academy which alumni are called Cavaliers.

Surely we are not supposed to fear PMA graduates whose sworn duty it is to serve the country and protect its people in the name of honor and justice.

There are many among them who have served our country well. Sadly, there are also many among them who have tainted the integrity of the PMA and who have served only their own personal interests and whose deeds proved that they were more of a liability than an asset.

Take the case of retired Major-Generals Ligot and Garcia and that Colonel Rabusa to name just a few.

This writer has yet to read a report about the reactions of Honorable Senators Biazon and Lacson to the charges of corruption allegedly committed by the three officers mentioned above during their tenure as Armed Forces of the Philippines comptrollers.

They have been curiously silent about the issue. Was it because they are all bound to remain silent and refrain from criticizing when a fellow PMAer is involved in an act or acts of wrongdoing even if the evidence of misdeed is strong as in the case Garcia?

What if any one of them has the ambition of becoming president (like Senator Lacson), got elected and then fall into the temptation of dipping his fingers into the cookie jar to sweeten and fatten his bank accounts or turn the whole nation into his private domain like Marcos with the aid ofhis loyal generals did? What if the soldier-turned-politician-turned-president fills all civilian positions with retired military officers loyal to him and turn the whole country into a garrison? Will all of these cavaliers look the other way, become deaf and speak nothing about the misdeeds being committed by their fellow to satisfy his evil heart’s desires?

Most of us believe that the non-military Gloria Macapagal-Arroyo has been able to perpetrate her evil deeds with the help of PMA cavaliers who are being well paid back for rendering service to her personal greed and doing disservice to this benighted nation.

This writer remembers an old Gene Hackman movie where his woman asked him, ” How can you protect me from you?”

  86. nelbar nelbar
