Above pictures were taken when six Genuine Opposition senatorial candidates visited their detained fellow candidate, Antonio Trillanes IV, at his detention cell in Camp Bonifacio and participated in a boodle fight this morning.
A boodle fight is a fun , unruly tradition in the military. Food is laid out in a long table lined with banana leaves.
Sen. Rodolfo Biazon, a Marine and former AFP Chief of Staff who joined the GO candidates, explained that a boodle fight is usually done at night and starts with the lights off. The participants “attack” the food fast so that by the time the lights are on, there would be no food left on the table.
Biazon said rank is disregarded during a boodle fight. The soldiers don’t it an occasion to have a boodle fight. They do it whenever they feel happy.
Today’s boodle fight was fun but gentle. Lechon and siopao were served. iI was held at the reception area of rhe detention center. The detainees call it their “country club”.
Those who came were Alan Cayetano, Manny Villar, Koko Pimentel, Chiz Escudero, Sonia Roco, Nikki Coseteng.
Missed were Ping Lacson, Loren Legarda, Noynoy Aquino, and John Osmeña.
Sen. Alfredo Lim who is GO’s mayoralty candidate came. Also re-electionist mayor in San Juan JV Ejercito. GO Spokesman Adel Tamano was also there.
Joel Villanueva of the partylist group, Cibac, in a before-the-meal prayer asked for the blessing not only for the lunch but also for their victory on Monday.
(I’ll do the captions tomorrow. I’m sleepy)
Nakakalaway! It reminds me of a fiesta we attended in my mother’s hometown when I was a kid. Ang dami kong kinain. Naimpatso tuloy ako!
GOGOGOGOGOGO TRILLANES! SAKIT NG PILIPINAS, SI TRILLANES ANG LUNAS!
Looks yummy to me – wonder if they served puto bumbong for dessert or halo halo… yum, yum.
We’ve just finished our dinner…but I’m hungry again looking at those Pilipino foods with matching dahon ng saging! Nakaka-homesick! Happy to know GO candidates didn’t forget their fellow candidate! What a great way to celebrate Pre-election …victory for all ? I will pray hard for these people!
GO Trillanes GO…Mabuhay ang GO!!!
Trillanes looks comfortable with his soon-to-be Senates mates!
Oy nakapasok ako. Isa pa.
Nakakatuwa naman at itong mga bagets and not-so-bagets GO candidates at personalities spent precious time with Trillanes.
GO! GO! GO! Kayong lahat.
It is very difficult to do the things you want to do from a detention cell. Mukhang enjoy na enjoy sila ah! It is a morale booster kay Trillanes. VOTE FOR TRILLANES ANG PAGASA NG BAYAN!
It is good to see PRINCIPLED, PATRIOTIC PEOPLE WHO FIGHTS FOR TRUTH AND JUSTICE getting together. Di katulad ng mga tao ng pekeng administrasyon na mga mukhang pera at “For Sale” ang mga prinsipyo, na ang malimit sabihin ay…if the PRICE IS RIGHT!
GOD WILL NOT FORSAKE THEM FOR THEY ARE FOR THE TRUTH! Seeing them in the Senate, now I can see REAL HOPE for the Philippines!
That was a fun occasion. I noticed that Sonny Trillanes was especially gracious to the ladies, Sonia Roco and Nikki Coseteng. Really an officer and a gentleman.
Sinabi mo pa, Ellen, but good breeding comes from being brought up by good parents. Yikes!
“I noticed that Sonny Trillanes was especially gracious to the ladies…”
They emanate hope and new beginning!
Joel Biazon? You mean Joel Villanueva?
Yeah, should be Joel Villanueva.
Ellen,
We got our ID’s with the Magdalo logo. Ganda! Tomorrow, I’ll buy the plastic for these IDs and will proudly pin them on our breasts. We are representing even Drilon’s Liberal Party plus GABRIELA, KABATAAN, ANAKPAWIS, BAYAN MUNA, SUARA BANGSANGMORO, and UNO (Trillanes). I’m supposed to be observing, too, for PDP-Laban.
Unfortunately, the guy who was supposed to work on our accreditation has not managed to send any document for our pollwatchers for Koko Pimentel. Sorry na lang if we cannot get the SBEI results for him.
Hopefully, JV will send us the authorization for GO by noontime today.
Lahat kami volunteer. Nobody is paid by anybody. Just sacrifice for the land of our birth. I’m providing merienda for our pollwatchers. OK lang, kasi mayaman si Papa! 😛
gusto ko yung attitude ng mga kasama ni Trillanes; gave him the time para saluhan sa lamesa.
another way of looking at it is: the public reception of Trillanes candidacy must have shook every local pundits off their chairs and considered him this early, as someone who could stage a stunning upset—-strong enough to land in the magic 10 (my own fearless forecast).
metro manila, most of central and southern luzon will give Trillanes the necessary lead to cushion any “command vote” (read as arm-twisting tactics of TUTA’s) advantage his closest opponent may have.
Central Mindanao and Davao provinces will probably give us the biggest hardache since Garci associates are still intact, manning the field offices of the Comelec (they were in fact, promoted after the 2004 elections).
the Guardians, together with other reform-oriented military officers assigned in the area, hopefully will not turn its back as our lone hope to gallantly protect Trillanes and GO votes.
the wranglings among equally corrupt politicians in the North of Luzon will give us some respite since they will be very, very busy guarding their own respective turfs to bother tampering the senatorial level outcome; the cheating of the outcome will shift to the local officials appointed by Comelec (i.e. Board of Canvassers).
vote-rich Central Visayas (Cebu provinces and its periphery) is one hotspot. if the voter turnout will again hit the 2004-election levels of statistically improbable 98%, then we are damned. it should be protested vigorously and election process considered as a failure.
a cause of alarm and distress is Comelec’s latest idiotic pronouncements (per chair Abalos) that canvassing and tabulation of senatorial-level votes will take at least 2 weeks. and proclamation of the same, won’t be earlier than that !!
Abalos wants us to believe his litany of tall tales, so fixers and operators ala Hello Garci will gain the elbow room to, you know, TAMPER with the results !!
BUNCH of INCORRIGIBLE CORRUPT IDIOTS, talaga !!!
hardache….should have read as HEADACHE. sorry, there.
4th paragraph’s hardache….should have read as HEADACHE. sorry, there.
zen2, as you said “your own fearless forecast”… Doesent matter…Filipino people matters. para sa PILIPINAS
Makabayan;
Filipino people matters para sa PILIPINAS–Noon iyon.
Filipino people Squatters sa PILIPINAS—Ngayon.
Thanks for sharing the pictures- We need leaders like them-the YOUNG ONES- and not the young once like Angara, etc. With them to lead us on- maging- BUHAY NA BUHAY ang Pilipinas. Mabuhay kayong lahat- GO!
yung isang photo, magkasama sina trillanes, chiz, alan peter, at si tamano. mga pretty boys ah! 🙂
walang sinabi yung sina defensor hehhee. but more importantly, hindi lang looks meron itong apat, may prinsipyo pa.
anong binatbat ng mga tuta ni gma? 🙂
Gusto ko sa lechon iyong sarsa. Pag wala na si Pandak, let’s all go home and share victory with the victors. Problema ko lang, home is now SFO, CA. Bagay puede na rin under the coconut tree on a hammock made by the Magdalo people! Basta wala lang bagyo!
Myrna: Si Tamano ba yong naka T-shirt na yellow? AT sino
naman yong naka T-Shirt ng puti? Thanks.
The other one in yellow sandwiched between Sonny and JV Ejercito in the second photo, top, is Koko Pimentel.
I’m sorry I have not had time to put captions. I’m busy, busy talaga. I’ll try tonight.
But Myrna, you are right, they are a goodlooking bunch. Pleasant personalities.
Rose, Adel Tamano is the GO spokesman. He studied in UP and Harvard. He is a lawyer. Son of the late Sen. Mamintal Tamano.
