    Looking at these photos..I can’t help but heave a sigh & remember the words of Marinduque Rep. Edmund Reyes during the first impeachment trial of Gloria:

    “Is there anyone else? Is there no one else? Wala na bang ibang pipirma para sa katotohanan?..Mr Chairman, thank you very much for giving me this time. I will leave the second envelope containing blank endorsements. And we will wait..”

    W/ Gloria at the helm, I also fault those TONGressmen who did not want to push through w/ Gloria’s impeachment. Had the impeachment happened, our soldiers, the People’s soldiers, would not have been compromised !

    What these TONGressmen did not do, the people will do for them in the May elections. What Gloria does not want to happen, will eventually happen. What the People’s Soldiers could not do, the people will do.

    And so the question remains, “Is there anyone else? Is there no one else? Wala na bang ibang pipirma para sa katotohanan?”

    The May elections will answer these questions.

    “The only thing necessary for the truimph of evil is for good men to do nothing.”
    May the truth come out and vindicate this men who sided with the truth for the Glory of God.
    If time and history compells me to choose before I die, it will be an honor to join the ranks of this men to battle the tyrant in our society.

  3. Thanks, Ellen, for the pictures. It surely is refreshing to know that the spirit of bravery among the members of the much tainted AFP is totally not dead, and those who are true defenders of freedom and liberty have gallantly done so at the peril of their lives and welfare of their families.

    One of these days, despite the attempt of the bogus president and her lackeys in trying to suppress more freedoms, these men will inspire Filipinos to raise up arms against their oppressors someday soon if not now, for the truth is God has in fact inculcated in everyone this love for freedom—the freedom to choose between good and evil, right and wrong, virtue and vice, and pleasure and pain, even the freedom to choose between God and Mammon.

    As the Scriptures say, “No man can serve two masters: for either he will hate the one, and love the other; or else he will hold to the one, and despise the other. Ye cannot serve God and mammon.” (Matt.6:24; Luke 16:13)

    Filipinos will have to make their choice soon enough before they experience another terrible, terrible suppression of freedoms much worse than when Marcos imposed his own brand of Martial rule.

    Off topic..According to Malcañan, the power rate cut is not “political gimmick.” Didn’t Gloria also do something similar when she was running for President in 2004 ?

    It has come to this: Even if Gloria does something good, because of her low credibility, her acts will always be met w/ skepticism.

    Leaders w/ integrity & honour would resign when they know they are not believed anymore. Our so-called leader cuts the cake – the more indecent Gloria becomes, the more defiant she gets. What a loser.

    Nakaka-panghinayang itong mga sundalong ito. Sayang at ganoon din pala ang magyayari, makulong lahat sila mabuti pa sana’y natuloy na ang ”coup” nasagip pa nila ang bayan.
    Sa tingin ko ngayon, mangilan-ngilan na lang ang natitirang sundalo at kapulisan na matino, matapang at maka-bayan.
    Mas nakararami sa mga sundalo at pulis natin ngayon ay magnanakaw..at ang mga matitino ay nasa kulungan o may kasong hinaharap…sayang, sayang…mag-isip..isip na sana ang mga natitira pang matitino at maka-bayan kung kayo’y magsa-sama-sama ang taong bayan ay nasa likod niyo…Mabuhay kayo !!!!

  12. For all you know, the bogus government is recruiting new soldiers according to my source. Papalitan yata ang mga suspected magulo at ayaw sumunod kay Pandak, Assperon, et al.

    Sa pulis, marami akong alam na umalis na. May nakilala nga ako dito na dating pulis na umalis na noon pang 2004. Nasa Japan on invitation ng anak na asawa ng isang hapon, tapos nag-overstay na. Ang masama nito, kapag nahuli at sinabi pang dati siyang pulis, nakakahiya!!!

    Overstaying and working without permit in Japan is a crime. First offender are likely to be given suspended sentences but not second timers, who may be imprisoned with forced labor from 1 year to 3 years. Babae man o lalaki ay nakukulong!

    Nagulat nga ako ng nakasama itong si Army Capt. Ruben Guinolbay dahil alam ko hero talaga itong during basilan…tapos si Faeldon I remember him sa correspondents tv, pinakita niya yun mga boots ng sundalo niya at kung gaano kahirap ang buhay nila…then nakita ko na lang siya sa Magdalo..

    Bale kung hindi man maalis si Gloria, tatlong taon na lang ang pagtitiis nila and I am hoping that the next president will come from Opposition and not “NOLI DE CASTRO”…In the meantime, they have to wait na mag retire si Esperon ang problema yata medyo tatagal pa sa puwesto si Esperon.

    Si Gen. Miranda pinakita kahapon nakakaawa naman 2-star general pero I saw how he is being pushed by his escorts…hindi niya alam kung saan siya maglalakad.

    Hindi maaaring i-apply ang Articles of War kasi hindi war tayo. Ang dapat gamitin ang Article of Peace. Ang alam ko sa mga presong opisyales na may mataas na ranggo ay iginagalang. Sinasaludo pa nga kahit na mga bantay. Bakit noon itong si Gen. Garcia na na-convict ng plunder? Lahat ng VIP treatment ibinigay sa kanya. Nasaan na ang lokong iyan? Hindi ba dapat nakakulong iyan? Baka nasa abroad na wala tayong kamalay-malay.

He can’t walk freely at hindi kailangan hawakan sa dalawang braso ang isang 2-star general na biglang patatalikurin…sa tingin ko MP yun gumawa sa kanya..well, hindi ko alam kung bakit ganoon kahigpit sila Kay Gen. Miranda samantalang nasa Tanay sila nasabi na lang ni Gen. wala siyang magawa dahil bilanggo daw siya. Sa tingin ko my order sa MPs na huwag pagsalitain si Gen sa Media kaya ganoon na lang…

    I really pity this General Miranda..hindi ko talaga nagustuhan yun ginawa ng MPs.

    Kung sa bagay, iba ang trabaho ng MP. Sila kasi ang Pulis sa military kaya walang General General sa kanila basta bilanggo. Pero dapat nandoon pa rin ang paggalang. Kapag nakalaya na si Gen. Miranda ay palitan niya ang Military Police (MP) sa pangalan niyang Miranda Police (MP). At kung makalaya siya ay magsalita siya sa Plaza Miranda para ilabas ang lahat ng baho sa AFP at ni tiyanak. Ang magiging pamagat ng ganyang rally ay “Miranda sa Plaza Miranda”. Magandang scoop into sa media.

    Rebel Spokesman Laments Filipinos’ Decision

    Before leaving the stage of the Makati siege, LT SG Antonio Trillianes expressed his disappointment at the outcome of the events. He and his band of renegade officers stormed out of anonimity early morning Sunday, took over a plush Makati hotel, and, with fiery accusations of corruption in the military, demanded the resignation of the President of the Pilippines. When asked who will replace the President if she left, he snapped. “That’s irrelevant.” During the entire drama, Trillianes was on air, speaking fluently and confidently against corruption in the military, perhaps hoping to gain public sympathy and convince civilians to protect them from the Government’s wrath. But unlike the events of EDSA in 1986 and EDSA 2 in 2001, no civilians came. At 3:00 pm, as a final plea for public support, the rebels had a press conference where they took the mic stand one by one to air their grievances to the world. “I spent eight years of combat duty in Mindanao” fighting Muslim rebels, said one officer, his voice rising as he spoke. “I saw my friends die, but did their deaths have any value? I say, they died for nothing.” But as luck would have it, civilians would not sympathize with bomb-toting and grief-stricken soldiers.

    Thus, as Lt. SG Trillianes ended his fifteen minutes of fame, he lamented his inability to gain public support and claimed that the Filipino people decided to side with the corrupt. He said he was ready to face the charges and mulled a change of career.

    Rebels Remove Bombs

    As the nation exults the end of the Makati Siege, the rebels soldiers begin removing the bombs that they planted around Oakwood Apartments. They are expected to march back to their barracks after completing the clean up of the vicinity of the hotel.

    Meanwhile, officials involved in the negotiation remain elusive as to the exact details of the compromise. According to reports, five of the leaders of the rebel group will be prosecuted to the full extent of the law. The rest will be investigated in accordance with the Articles of War. The Government concessions to the rebels, however, have not been disclosed clearly. ¶ 10:30 PM

    In 1963, Ernesto Miranda was accused of kidnapping and raping an 18-year-old, mildly retarded woman. He was brought in for questioning, and confessed to the crime. He was not told that he did not have to speak or that he could have a lawyer present. At trial, Miranda’s lawyer tried to get the confession thrown out, but the motion was denied. In 1966, the case came in front of the Supreme Court. The Court ruled that the statements made to the police could not be used as evidence, since Miranda had not been advised of his rights.

    Wrong! Abslolutely wrong! Artsee – that’s only in the movies.

    Major General Miranda may be an incarcerated officer but he HAS NOT BEEN found guilty by any court, let alone the military courts.

    In the first place, the military police (MP) doing the shoving as per Jojo’s saying here, is ONLY AN ORDINARY SOLDIER.

    That Military Police element has no right to shove, push, manhandle (coz there was clearly mandhandling there, albeit mild) an officer, let alone a star-rank.

    This is NOT ALLOWED under any circumstances, particularly when the officer HAS NOT BEEN CONVICTED.

    That soldier/military officer could be accused very clearly of INSUBORDINATION for mandhandling or “striking a senior officer”.

    The problem with the AFP is that under Esperon, they know longer know how to obey rules – the AFP has become a glorified bogus mercenary team, a team that only respects force for rules.

    Major General Miranda of the Philippine Marines Corps’ treatment in the hands of a MP element must NOT BE overlooked.

    That soldier who did that to him MUST BE PUNISHED!

    The Philippines Armed Forces does not have a Uniform code of Military Justices. They are basically relying on Commonwealth Act 408 which has undergone some revision. Commonwealth Act 408 is also known an Article of War.——These soldiers are not guilty because there is no war committed.
    So, How are we going to prosecute this soldiers? Based on what Article of war or on the provision on Commonwealth Act 408 they violated? On what charge?
    If there is any good lawyer out there can you please give an answer, Why these soldiers are being charged.—–U.S. Armed Forces has UCMJ to follow. Unless of course! It applies to Philippines Armed Forces Service.

    What Miranda Rights,are we talking about here?

    Let’s put it this way: when democracy is NOT working in a country, the first component of the republic to revolt against this or that is the military BUT when democracy is working, the rule of law is observed, the tenet of freedom is recognized, the military WILL BE THE LAST EVER COMPONENT of the nation’s institutions to break away from the REPUBLIC.

    Therefore, this is happening, i.e., the restiveness, the endeless military escapades, the confusion within and beyond the doors of the military institutions, the disrespect for officers by ordinary soldiers BECAUSE THE PRINCIPLES GOVERNING DEMOCRACY IN THE NATION ARE CLEARLY WOBBLY….

    If this “wobbliness” turns to all-out confusion, you bet, military elements, good ones and bad ones who have moulded by military discipline, will think of putting back discipline in a confused republic – RIGHTLY OR WRONGLY – and one of the ways to do, again RIGHTLY OR WRONGLY, in their way of thinking is TO GO FOR A MILITARY JUNTA.

    In other words, Gloria has set the precedent, the bastion of national cohesion and discipline is going berserk – so let’s not be surprised that the military elements, officers and men ARE CONFUSED.

    Pinas is one goddamn lucky country, because their AFP is still very unprofessional and can’t make up its mind whether to topple Gloria’s govt or not. Anywhere else, Gloria would have been a dead duck!

    Oakwood mutiny leaders say sorry to Arroyo

    MANILA — The jailed leaders of a failed military rebellion against President Arroyo in July 2003 apologized to her and the nation Friday for their actions and the resulting damage to the economy.

    Arroyo accepted the apology but ruled out an immediate pardon and said their trial would proceed.

    “Let me say that I feel no rancor,” Arroyo told reporters after returning the officers’ salute. “I accept the apology that they so humbly made.”

    She, however, stressed that “according to our laws you cannot have any pardon without any conviction so we are going ahead” with the court-martial.

    Army Capt. Gerardo Gambala read the statement of apology in behalf of the other mutiny leaders during a press conference held in Camp Aguinaldo in Quezon City.Arroyo was seated beside Gambala when he read his group’s statement.

    The six junior officers were temporarily allowed out of their prison cells for the press conference. They put on their uniforms and were ushered into the defense department for an audience with the commander-in-chief.

    Aside from Gambala, the five others were Army Captain Milo Maestrecampo, Navy Captains Gary Alejano, Nicanor Faeldon and Navy Lieutenants Second Grade Antonio Trillanes and James Layug.

    Gambala acknowledged in the statement their act of rebellion, which they said was committed “in our honest though naive desire for change.”

    Gambala said that “during our 14 months of incarceration, we have realized that while our country is facing serious problems, there are no shortcuts in solving them.

    “In this light, we humbly seek absolution from President Gloria Macapagal Arroyo and we are hereby heeding her call of unity by declaring our unequivocal commitment to peace and reconciliation with her administration.”

    Gloria has been very smart of putting up the Military against each other and using the Top Brass to stay in Power. The Very Reason why she ignores or try to Defend the Abuses and Extra Judicial Action of the Components of the AFP and reward its leaders to maintain their support if not their Loyalty. Military Loyalty is good only until one benefits from each others. Once these benefits expire they’ll be on each other throats and we can watch them wrestling and shooting each other again. So just fasten our seat belts and prepare for the ride, maybe sooner….

    Just to let you know that a program on BBC featured the Canadian military work in Afghanistan “winning hearts and minds at work”.

    Lt Nicola Bascon was just fantastic! She actually was forced to tell the villagers – to whom she was offering medical help – through an interpreter, “We are the good guys, we are Canadians…”, an oblique repartee against their American colleagues, who were just goddamn gung-ho vis a vis the Afghans.

    Turn out by Afghans was great; of course, under the goddamn US Gen Dan MacNeill, all of Canada-NATO efforts will be washed away.

    Pretty impressive these Canadians – I like their no-nonsense approach to beating the Talebans, ready to shoot but the bottom line is to win hearts and minds and not just to drop and pound any god-forsaken Afghan village.

    Goddamn American commanding McNeil freak!

  68. The pushing and shoving of Gen. Miranda happened when we were trying to interview him when he was about to board their van after the trial. The military escorts forbid media to talk to the detained officers. But we in media do not feel bound by those prohibition. Our job is to get a direct statement from the subject and we do it the best way we can.

    While Gen. Miranda was heavily escorted (They all are heavily escorted) to the van, Ces Drilon of ABS-CBN and her crew were able to slip through from the human chain that the military escorts formed. We all followed and the escorts panicked. What they did was push Gen. Miranda to board the van. Miranda stopped and talked to us.

    Christine Avendaño and I couldn’t push our way through the TV crew and other reportes around Gen. Miranda. We saw Col. Archie Segumalian coming and it was he that we interviewed.

    We did not succeed with Gen. Danny Lim because the van was parked away from us and the guarding was tight.

    I’ll post this comment in the next article. I’ll try to retrieve a picture that shows how we media are prevented from talking to the detained officers.

As part of the NATO CONTINGENT the Canadian Forces is an independent mission from the U.S. military.     with all due respect po, pinaligiran nila ng PLASTIC na bomba ang oakwood area, alam ko po ito, dahil galing po itong info na ito sa ilan sa sumali sa oakwood, including some from the core group. maaring hindi nyo po sang-ayunan ang paglalagay ng plastic na bomba nguni’t marahil ang dahilan ay precautionary measure para hindi lumapit ang mga usisero’t usisera. wala po namang “target” sapagka’t wala naman po silang balak na manakit o pumatay ng kahit na sino kahit na kaya naman nilang gawin ito. hindi po ako nagdudunong-dunungan sa mga sinabi ko, iyan po ay ayon sa aking narinig sa mga naroon at kasama sa insidenteng iyon.
