Have the slick operators in Congress put one over Mike Arroyo? The braggart in Malacañang wanted Alan Peter Cayetano expelled from the House of Representatives for daring to expose an alleged loot in a German bank. Of course, for the right price, there were more than enough in the House of Representatives to do his bidding.
But after railroading a suspension recommendation, Rep. Rodolfo Cajes (NPC, Bohol), chair of the ethics panel, said the House may not be able to effect the suspension due to lack of material time.
Have they gotten what was mentioned in the committee hearings as “regalo”? Wasn’t Mike Arroyo shortchanged?
Meanwhile, as Arroyo continues to hound Cayetano, the young Taguig-Pateros congressman’s political star keeps on rising. As Cayetano said, he foresees Comelec as the next battlegound. It’s not farfetched to imagine someone in Malacañang using every dirty tool he has to prevent Cayetano from becoming senator.

THE House is unlikely to approve the recommendation of the ethics committee to suspend Rep. Alan Peter Cayetano (NP, Taguig-Pateros) for alleging that presidential spouse Mike Arroyo maintains accounts in a German bank.
The committee report was not in the order of business of the House during its session last night, the last before Congress goes on recess.
“We may not be able to approve it in the plenary to effect the suspension due to lack of material time. Kapos talaga sa panahon kasi we are still preparing the report to be signed by the committee members,” Rep. Rodolfo Cajes (NPC, Bohol), chair of the ethics panel, said before the start of the session.
It was also unlikely that the recommendation to suspend could get the support of 154 congressmen or two-thirds of the House membership.
Cayetano said the committee’s recommendation was “a victory for the Arroyos, a victory for bad governance and a defeat for good governance and true rule of law.”
“As we have seen in the past, nasisira ang mga democratic institutions na nagmumukhang under the thumb of Malacañang,” he said.
The ethics panel, in a vote of 35-5 on Tuesday, recommended that Cayetano be suspended for 45 days for “improper conduct” over his accusation that the Arroyos maintain an account in the HypoVereinsbank in Germany.
The alleged bank account is just one of the many fictitious accounts and properties which could be linked to the First Family, Cayetano said.
Cayetano said that while Mr. Arroyo may have scored legal points through allies at the House, questions on the First Family’s alleged “ill-gotten” wealth remain unanswered.
“There was no vindication over the decision. There is only a legal stalemate. They are (Arroyos) still morally and politically accountable,” he said.
Cayetano said the Arroyos squandered another opportunity to show that they are open to accountability and transparency by declining to open their accounts to public scrutiny and limiting the issue to the alleged HypoVereins account.
“Malacañang should not control Congress as if it’s a remote control toy,” he said.
Cayetano said that instead of pulling all stops to protect the First Family, the House majority should have taken steps to give the people easy access to information on public officials’ wealth.
He said a law should be crafted requiring aspirants for public office to file a waiver on the secrecy of their bank accounts.
Rep. Juan Miguel “Mikey” Arroyo (Lakas, Pampanga) said the ethics panel’s decision cleared his family.
“I feel vindicated as it is. The overwhelming vote of 35 to three against Rep. Cayetano shows that he lied about all his allegations,” he said.
Sen. Pia Cayetano expressed support for her brother.
“I stand behind my brother, my family, and I know that my father (the late senator Renato Cayetano) will be proud of him,” she said.
Executive Secretary Eduardo Ermita said the possible suspension of Cayetano would be a relief for the administration.
He added the Palace is hoping that it would lead to the eventual closure of the issue.
“We do not know the intent of others on how to further discuss the issue but…we wish there is closure on the issue so that we can put that to rest and we really consider the most substantial issues facing our people during elections,” Ermita said. – With Dennis Gadil and Jocelyn Montemayor

I don’t buy the shallow alibi of Pidal’s super Band-Aids in tongress that lack of time is the reason why they may not be able to effect the 45 days suspension of Alan Peter Cayetano.
What? They’ve already done so many magics in that house of hell. The impeachment against the bogus president was done in a hurry to save her smelly butt. What about the Chacha maneuvers led by the same hinayupaks Villafuerte, et al?! They never complained about lack of time. Abracadabra! And there is time when licking the Pidals!

Being short changed is a risk Mike Arroyo has to take in stride. Not getting what he has paid for. He will keep on paying. It’s not his money anyway. Tongressmen friends of Mike, and Mike himself is always laughing all the way to foreign banks.
Who cares if alan peter is suspended or not.

A price an individual must pay to speak out against the family of thieves and Rep. Cayetano won’t be the last, I would pressume. Mutineer Gloria Arroyo and the fake first gentleman, as self-proclaimed himself, are the very cause of what has became of the Philippines. Rep. Cayetano can’t fight the entire Malacanang, Generals, Mutineer Gloria’s Motor Bike Paid killers, Supreme Court and Congress, the odd is just too overwhelming for any one person to handle. If the Pilipinos wants their country back badly enough from the bunch of thieves, known liars of Malacanang and the family of Arroyo, it’s a must that the majority of the people as mandated by the constitution display their dissatisfaction on the street for whatever how long it take. And Rep. Cayetano must have the support of the people, it’s the only way we would expose the Pidal’s account in Germany. However, as long as the people to do nothing, Mutineer Gloria and thief Miguel will always get the best of the Pilipinos. Hence, there’re no other way, since mutineer Gloria and thief husband of her are not willing participants that will just surrender, they must be forced out, it’s the only way to save the Republic of the Philippines from the thieves. Progress is never given for free, yet it must be paid with blood and other mean possible.
The way I look at this, Malacanang made Cayetano a hero to the masses,after they intentionally tarnish his reputation. Smear tactics and mud- slinging doesn’t become effective.

The issue is not a specific bank account in Germany. It is the issue of transparency. The arrogance of the Arroyos in confronting Cayetano is the problem. Cayetano was not obnoxious. He has finesse, a true gentleman! Even when he was fuming mad, he was able to restrain himself from profanities.
The Arroyos realize that the more they persecute Cayetano, the more he becomes a viable candidate. Cayetano’s angels must be watching over him. The Arroyos may have won the votes of the Tongressmen but Cayetano won the votes of the people. These trapos just throw their weights all over, as if they are invincible. They are dead wrong!
If the tongressmen could have suspended Cayetano, it would just be the engine that would propel him to the number one spot in the senatorial race! Buti naman nakapagisip isip si Fatso and his minions. Maybe the tongressmen were not given the right bribes so the Fatso was shortchanged. Or simply, the Fatso is conserving all his dough for the elections. He has to bribe everybody to make sure that the tiyanak will retain her throne as the Fatso is the eventual beneficiary.
