Ang nasa top 12 ay mga personalidad na masasabing naka-linya sa oposisyon. Ito ang nangunguna sa senatorial race sa ngayon: Loren Legarda; Panfilo M. Lacson; Francis N. Pangilinan; Manuel B. Villar, Jr.; Alan Peter S. Cayetano Vicente C. Sotto III; Ralph G. Recto (28.7%); . Korina Sanchez; Aquilino Pimentel “Koko”III; Gregorio B. Honasan (24.1%); JV Ejercito-Estrada; Edgardo J. Angara;

With the results of this Pulse Asia survey, it seems to tell me that the possibility of Gloria being BUSHWHACKED in the upcoming elections is great!

Aside from the ARROYO name being synonymous to what is EVIL & DIRTY IN THE PHILIPPINES, even ANYTHING &/or ANYBODY associated with this family name spells (POLITICAL) DEATH!

GLORIA IS THE PROBLEM. THE FILIPINOS ARE THE SOLUTION. VOTE FOR THOSE WHO WILL SUPPORT AN GLORIA IMPEACHMENT! Voting for Gloria’s Legions is as good as having Gloria for life!

  2. Chabeli Chabeli

Hindi ako sanayon kay Kiko Cuneta(-Pangilinan) or better known as MR. NOTED. Sa tingin ko, he, along with siRAULo Gonzalez, knew that Gloria cheated (as to why they kept saying “NOTED”)!!!!! Bumaliktad lang ito si MR. NOTED because of personal interest. Enough of these types of politicians!

I agree with you mam, may mga hunyango diyan sa top 12 senatoriables. Huwag nating kalimutan ang mga ginawa nila kina Erap at FPJ!Let’s vote only those who are consistent and unyielding in their call to oust the bogus one, no more, no less.Ingat tayo sa mga magiging pronouncements ni vilma”noted” pangilinan,si shawie “moderate(translation:if the price is right)”recto!Pero bago lahat, it’s imperative na wala si abalos and his gang of cheaters sa comelec, otherwise, I fear the 2007 elections will be bloody(literally),God forbid. We call on the international community to help us Filipinos in this 2007 elections, to be observers, so as to put strong pressure on this bogus gov’t. not to put in motion their vaunted machinery(cheating).Protectors of the People(Soldiers w/honor&integrity),save us and move now to rid us of this bogus and immoral president and her rapacious gov’t.Patalsikin na, now na!!!!

Immoral Arroyo is like a stinking river that it’s next to her sleeping quarters in Malacanang is most appropriate -Pangalang Baho. The name Arroyo and Macapagal are disgrace and without credibility, conniving family of thieves. Everytime the name Arroyo is mention, we think of illegitimate Gloria’s lying, cheating and stealing, not mentioning the killing of 780 activists and journalists or thereabout in which will be connected forever to the Arroyo’s legacy, and to fake Gloria personally. The name Arroyo represent the raping of the constitution and subversion of legitimate govt. The Arroyo has humiliated the Pilipino nation worldwide, has stolen and sold our dignity as a nation shamelessly. Surely, the name Arroyo should always be associated with the worst leaders of our time, such as Hitler, Pol Pot, Saddam and that guy in North korea, et al. They don’t deserve any kind of respect as people, spit on them Arroyos!

  7. The present senate will remain in the hands of the opposition after a rout of potot’s candidates. The battlefront is in the election of representatives. We must mark those lapdogs and not vote for them to ensure potot’s impeachment.

Malacanang is not releasing the Pork Barrel to the opposition senators. This made Flavier told his colleagues to kiss Gloria’s ass to get them if they want the Pork. What’s this GMA counterpart dwarf is saying? After such long silence, was that all Flavier could say? Was that the reason why he never criticized GMA? Flavier doesn’t come clean either. He claims to be the poorest senator but there’s a report that he bought nice houses for all his children and family members. Where did he get all these money? Pork Barrel?

I hope the Japanese government will follow up on this reported atrocities and conduct an investigation as to the nature of the experiments and if possible identify the victims and proper apologies and compensations to the surving families be extended if found to be true. If wrong were committed it is never too late to right it. We have apologized for the Head Tax imposed on the relatives of Chinese Labourers who brought their relatives after building the transcanada railroads. We have apologized for the Canadian of Japanese descents for being interned during the War as pre-emptive measures. Those were mistakes done in the context of time, but mistakes they were and to admit and be humble and apoligized for them won’t mean weakness but being honest and honourable and I believe the Japanese people are just as honourable and humble enough to admit the mistakes and wrongs…

    from tribune:

MMDA urges LGUs not to be sympathetic to sidewalk vendors

    11/26/2006

Metropolitan Manila Development Authority (MMDA) Chairman Bayani Fernando has urged local government unit (LGU) officials not to be sympathetic to sidewalk vendors during the holiday season.

Fernando yesterday said he is appealing to the LGU officials from the 17 cities and municipalities in Metro Manila not to be lenient to illegal vendors during Christmas and New Year.

He added LGU and barangay officials are known to tolerate groups or individuals in their localities to sell their wares along the busy roads and thoroughfares.

They even close the roads or occupy side streets, oftentimes inconveniencing the passing motorists and commuters.

He said the local officials’ sympathy to the vendors would result in traffic snarls and would be counter productive to majority of the pedestrians.

‘’Don’t be sympathetic to them (sidewalk vendors),’’ he stressed.

Sidewalk Clearing Operations Group chief Roberto Esquivel said this early there are groups or officials asking them to be spared from the clearing operations of the MMDA.

Esquivel added there are those who try to convince him to give the vendors more time to put down their structures voluntarily.

‘’During these times when traffic is expected to get worse, we don’t have other option but to deny their requests and implement the order of Fernando.
    ********************************************************

Not so elaborate a trap, eh?

  18. Chabeli Chabeli

    Nelbar, Senzennai:
Reading your respective comments, you both have a point, which makes me a little SUSPICIOUS OF THE RECENT PULSE ASIA SURVEY…Dapat mag-ingat ang mga botante! I wonder if PULSE ASIA will reveal to the public WHO COMMISSIONED this recent survey. Maybe THE ONE WHO COMMISSIONED THIS RECENT PULSE ASIA SURVEY WAS AN OPPOSITION-KUNO group, who, in reality are PRO-GLORIA! Bakit ako nag dududa?

    1. The survey seems to indicate in influencing voters! Although the list shows some real oppositionists, it is meant to look credible; when in reality most of these people are NOT HARD-CORE ANTI-GLORIA!
    2. #3 on the list is this KIKO CUNETA also known as MR. NOTED. Together with siRAULo Gonzalez, both were FULLY AWARE of why they HAD TO KEEP SAYING, “NOTED.” They already knew fully well that GLORIA CHEATED. They must have already known about Gloria talking to GARCI! Is this a man who a voter can consider loyal to the country or to the Filipino? NO WAY!
    3. #4 on the list is MANNY VILLAR. He BETRAYED ERAP when he had him impeached in the House. IF HE HE DID THAT ONCE, HE CAN DO IT AGAIN! Was he really doing what he did for country and for the people? He was after his OWN PERSONAL INTEREST! I remember not too long ago, he kept going to Tanay DESPERATELY asking Erap for his support to be able to Senate President! I would DOUBT THIS MAN!
    4. #12 on the list is ED ANGARA. I also rememeber some time back a Senator told me that Ed SOLD HIS LOYALTY to Gloria early on. Again, does this speak highly of this woman-beater? I WOULD NOT WASTE MY VOTE ON THIS TRAPO!
    5. RUFFY BIAZON is #16 on the list. The dude DID NOT EVEN TAKE A STAND AND VOTE WITH THE OPPOSTION DUING THE LAST IMPEACHMENT TRIAL OF GLORIA because of his pork barrel and kawawa naman daw his people! What that tells me is that he cannot take stand on issues that are important. How can one vote for a person who doesn’t have the, excuse the word, balls?

pangulo daw siyang halal, walang bahid dungis
pagkat sambayanan ang sa kanya’y nagnais
ngunit tanungin mo kahit batang paslit
iling na’y may sigaw pang itatakwil siyang pilit!

tigilan na sana’t linisin ang mukha
upang huwag pamarisan gawain n’yang lisya

kahit siya’y isang ganid marunong ding mahiya!

    kung meron nga!

  20. Chabeli Chabeli

And if I may add pa pala, #7 on the list is RALH RECTO, more known as MR. VILMA SANTOS. My comment on him in an earlier post of Ms. Ellen was that I had heard him being interviewed on TV and he told Pia Hontiveros of ANC that “I am not a hard-line opposition. I am not a hard-line administration.” What does THIS SAY ABOUT THIS DUDE? It seems to me that he is one of those “neither here nor there” kind of person. LOYALTY does NOT SEEM TO BE PART OF THE DUDE’S VOCAB! In other words, a TRAPO; wherever the wind blows, doon sya.

As a whole, what I want to express is that VOTERS should BE CAREFUL of these types of politicians (most especially the DIRTY TRAPOS)!!! The definition of Loyalty to a Trapo is to be loyal to no one but themselves. These are the devils who have destroyed the Philippines and who perpetuate the likes of Gloria.

Look at where the Philippines is today because of these people? Eto, sa basura!

Renato, I like that idea of sending OFWs remittances via door- to- door.

  23. Renato Renato

Yeah Chi, it’s the only way I know to show my dissent and disgust to a fake and immoral president!I still love my country(inspite of),and I long for a good future for my children(in their own country). It’s good that we have blogs like these to share our opinions, pros or cons, but we have to do our share, our own sacrifices to bring down an immoral leader and gov’t..We have to, for the future of our love ones.I don’t even think about myself anymore, being in my 40s.It’s the future generation who will bear the brunt of a gov’t.,a leader, who has no iota of moral ascendancy, devoid of decency! We’re no soldiers Chi,we don’t wield any gun!All we have is our humble remittance as a weapon, and our resolve to do what is right. If we engage in being “fence sitters/watchers”, or even worse, “yakkers(daldal lang)”,this evil in our country will persist, or worsen! My God Chi, even our nursing graduates were already infected by the cheating epidemic, wrought in our country by the ultimate cheater, the bogus one arrovo! The young nurses of today now think that it’s OK to cheat,as long as you get away with it, because the bogus one did it! We have to stop this, stop the source!Patalsikin na, now na!!!God bless our country!

  24. Chabeli Chabeli

    Renato,
That’s a great IDEA you have there, sending “…our remittances not thru the formal banking system, but thru the informal door-to-door.”

In my own little way, because I wanted to “protest” against Gloria, early this year, what I did was to give a member of my family a credit card. The billing address is addressed to me. Whether they need to buy groceries, need to get cash advance (which most credit cards do provide), I don’t need to remit money anymore and go through the formal banking system. I hate it when she uses our money for her political ambitions, not to mention her survival. Since I detest her, I will not be counted as a member of her supporters. It’s insulting!

  25. Chi,

It’s worst when you patronize this door to door that is in fact blackmarketing. I’d rather that you send your money not through the Philippine banks that are operating illegally (no permit to deal in foreign exchange, etc.) but through the legitimate banks in your area.

I don’t send remittances to the Philippines except when it’s time to pay taxes on my properties there. And I send it through the Japanese postal bank to my sister-in-law there.

I have written about the money laundering by these Philippine banks that I have been informed of with the remittances in fact kept overseas and not sent to the Philippines immediately. Pinapaikot pa muna daw ng mga kurakot!

  26. chi chi

    Renato, Chabeli, Yuko,

I don’t send $$$ thru Phil bank. Last time I visited Pinas, nag-iwan ako ng mga checks already with amounts. Cash na lang nila doon kasi I really don’t like to be a part of propping this fake admin of Glue bola-bola. Emergency, fedex na lang.

  27. chi chi

    Renato,

You are absolutely right. Our nursing graduates are infected with the cheating epidemic of this bogus president. Nobody trust our nurses anymore which is a very sad reality.
All the while, this fake pangulo would like Filipinos to think that fil nurses can just work overseas because she said so.

    ‘No to Filipino nurses’

    By CHERYL ARCIBAL
    The Manila Times Reporter

The Japanese Nursing Association (JNA), which is against the entry of Filipino nurses in Japan, said the working conditions of Japanese nurses must be improved first before Filipinos are taken in.

In a recent interview, Kyoko Nagaike, a JNA board member, told The Manila Times that the salaries of Japanese nurses should at least be doubled before Filipino nurses could work in Japanese hospitals.

Under the Japan-Philippine Economic Partnership Agreement (JPEPA), Filipino nurses and caregivers can work in Japan as long as they undergo training and pass the licensure examination, which is written in Japanese.

The exams are the same tests given to Japanese nurses and caregivers.

Japanese nurses get a basic starting salary of 193,924 yen or about P85,000.

Nagaike said the JNA believes there are enough nurses in Japan to look after the growing number of senior citizens.

Nagaike said the JNA would only be willing to support the entry of Filipino nurses if the Japanese government could ensure that they would be given the same treatment and salaries that Japanese nurses were receiving.

“If we allow Filipino nurses to come in and they would be given lower salaries and lower benefits than the Japanese nurses are receiving, it could spell worse times for us because as it is now, the working conditions of Japanese nurses need much improvement and if cheap labor would come in, these working conditions, we’re afraid, would remain,” she said through an interpreter.

Nagaike said that if the working conditions of Japanese nurses were improved, as much as 550,000 nurses and nursing assistants would go back to working in hospitals.

The JNA laid down four conditions for accepting Filipino nurses in Japan:

    • Filipino nurses must obtain a Japanese nursing license by passing National Examination for nurses.

    • They must be proficient enough in the Japanese language to practice safe nursing care.

    • They must be employed under the same or better conditions if they work in Japan.

    • They must not admit mutual recognition of licenses.

Officials of Japan’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs explained that under the JPEPA, Filipino nurses must go through six months of training before they can take the Japanese licensure examinations. Nurses will have three chances to pass the test before they are sent back to the Philippines.

Caregivers would be given four years of training and one chance to pass the licensure exam.

Nagaike, however, acknowledged that Filipino nurses could revitalize the nursing profession in Japan. She noted that in the Philippines the nursing course is four years, whereas in Japan, it only takes three years.

Nagaike said there is no shortage of young Japanese people who would like to be nurses.

In 2005, there were 215,211 Japanese students who were in nursing and midwifery schools, just marginally lower than 2004’s 216,6390 and higher than 2003’s 213,619.

    THE LONG VIEW
    They’re making a list

    By Manuel L. Quezon III
    Inquirer

Published on page A15 of the November 27, 2006 issue of the Philippine Daily Inquirer

WHOEVER SAID THE ADMINISTRATION DOES not have a Senate slate was slinging around a lot of hooey. The slate exists, at least a rough draft of it does, and that draft is being tested in the surveys. According to the Pulse Asia November 2006 nationwide survey on senatorial preferences, here’s how the administration candidates would do (I’ve listed their names, the awareness ratings they received as a percentage, and then their survey ranking for the Senate race):

Michael T. Defensor has a 97 percent awareness rating, and would come in at 13-27.

    Robert Ace S. Barbers, 90 percent, 15-29.

    Jose “Lito” L. Atienza, 84 percent, 15-31.

    Hilario G. Davide Jr., 82 percent, 20-34.

    Bayani “BF” F. Fernando, 80 percent, 20-34.

    Eulogio “Amang” R. Magsaysay, 69 percent, 22-34.

    Fidel V. Ramos, 99 percent, 26-39.

    Alberto “Bert” G. Romulo, 74 percent, 35-50.

Feliciano “Sonny” R. Belmonte Jr., 71 percent, 35-50.

    Ignacio “Toting” R. Bunye, 83 percent, 35-52.

    Cory Quirino, 79 percent, 35-52.

    Eduardo R. Ermita, 75 percent, 36-52.

Juan Miguel “Mikey” M. Arroyo, 93 percent, 36-53.

    Angelo “Angie” T. Reyes, 78 percent, 39-55.

    Prospero “Boy” C. Nograles, 60 percent, 42-58.

    Margarito B. Teves, 53 percent, 45-60.

Parouk “Doc” S. Hussin, 50 percent, 51-64 (much weaker than two other possible Muslim candidates, Amina “Mina Rasul” T. Rasul, who has a much higher 80 percent awareness rating and would come in 34-49, and Nur C. Misuari, with an 86 percent awareness rating and a ranking of 39-55).

    Max V. Soliven, 45 percent, 51-64.

    Gabriel “Gabby” S. Claudio, 44 percent, 52-64.

    Arthur C. Yap, 52 percent, 53-64.

    Jose T. Almonte, 37 percent, 54-64.

Augusto “Buboy” Syjuco (despite all the Tesda ads), 42 percent, 54-64.

The 45-percent awareness rating of Soliven, who just died, is quite depressing considering his over half a century of work in the media. The mass media publicity in the wake of his death would have been electoral gold. And Ramos, Belmonte and Almonte are unlikely to be interested to run for the Senate at all. So, that leaves a still-too-large slate of 18 out of the 22 names thrown into the hat.

The problem, though, is that the putative administration candidates are obviously weak compared to the front-runners. As Pulse Asia’s media release put it, these are the people to beat:

“At present, 19 personalities—mostly from the political opposition—have a statistical chance of winning with the following being declared winners if the May 2007 elections were actually conducted today: (1) former Sen. Loren Legarda (52.9 percent); (2) Sen. Panfilo M. Lacson (41.1 percent); (3) Sen. Francis N. Pangilinan (36.6 percent); (4) Sen. Manuel B. Villar Jr. (31.4 percent); (5) Taguig-Pateros Rep. Alan Peter S. Cayetano (30.5 percent); (6) former Sen. Vicente C. Sotto III (30.3 percent); (7) Sen. Ralph G. Recto (28.7 percent); (8) Korina Sanchez (27.0 percent); (9) Aquilino Pimentel III (24.8 percent); (10) former Sen. Gregorio B. Honasan (24.1 percent); (11) San Juan Mayor JV Ejercito-Estrada (22.1 percent); and (12) Sen. Edgardo J. Angara (20.3 percent).

“Given the survey’s margin of error of +/- 3 percentage points, the following individuals also have a statistical chance of winning: (1) Tarlac Rep. Benigno C. Aquino III (19.3 percent); (2) House Minority Floor Leader Francis G. Escudero (19.3 percent); (3) former Sen. John Henry Osmeña (17.8 percent); (4) Muntinlupa Rep. Rozzano Rufino B. Biazon (17.8 percent); (5) Ilocos Norte Rep. Imee R. Marcos (17.6 percent); (6) Sen. Joker P. Arroyo (17.0 percent); and (7) Sen. Luisa P. Estrada (16.9 percent).”

So, of a possible administration slate, only Defensor has a fighting chance, with Barbers and Atienza as the long shots, even if we remove Lacson, Sanchez and Marcos who may have other plans. But even Barbers comes behind Jejomar “Jojo” C. Binay (81 percent, 13-27) and Orlando “Orly” S. Mercado ( 91 percent, 13-28).

An alternative, reform slate, however, seems to be doing poorly, too. They all are a long shot, for now:

Sonia M. Roco, 65 percent, 23-34; Solita C. “Mareng Winnie” Monsod, 83 percent, 24-34; Oscar “Pareng Oca” Orbos 70 percent, 31-43; Florencio “Butch” B. Abad, 51 percent, 36-53; Susan “Toots” Ople, 61 percent, 40-55; Randolf “Randy” S. David, 49 percent, 47-63; Nereus “Neric” Acosta, 34 percent, 47-63.

Some interesting snippets: Gilbert C. Remulla has an awareness rating of 74 percent and would come in at 24-35. Celebrity alone doesn’t guarantee victory—see the results for Richard “Goma” Gomez, who has a 9 percent awareness rating but comes in at 26-38. Neither does notoriety mean success nor throwing vast sums of money around really matter: Mark “MJ” Jimenez has a 74 percent awareness rating and would come in at 32-47. Being an opposition member doesn’t necessarily enhance one’s chances: Roy V. Señeres, 47 percent, 53-64; and past incumbency doesn’t guarantee you’ll do well: Francisco “Kit” S. Tatad, 87 percent awareness rating but a ranking of 18-31; and Ernesto “Boy” F. Herrera with a high awareness rating of 84 percent but would come in at 26-38. Receiving media exposure doesn’t necessarily cut it either: Roilo S. Golez, 76 percent awareness rating, ranking: 32-47. And having a pocket constituency won’t necessarily bring you over the top: Mike “Bro. Mike” Velarde, 86-percent awareness rating, but a ranking of 36-55.

No wonder the “final push” is on. The last time an administration faced a similar debacle in a Senate race was in 1971. This time around, the Palace will want to be the mistress, and not the slave, of events. It needs to elect five senators to block any mischief aimed at the President. Even with a gigantic effort, it might only engineer the victory of, at most, three.

  29. Chi,

Let’s pray that not one, not even one, of the Senators being propelled by the crooks at the palace by the murky river would get even one vote although of course they, their relatives and cronies will vote for them.

As for Erap suggesting Villar, Recto and Pangilinan in the opposition’s slate, we may not approve of it, but it may even be just a ploy for their supporters not to support the Bansot!

I pray that this time, Filipinos would be wiser not to be carried away by these surveys that I am told are more often than not paid by people who want to manipulate the election by attempting to condition the minds of the voters according to this kind of survey.

  35. Chi,

Nakakayanig ng mga matatakaw at sakim as we have proven these past months.

But, just as there are heroes, so also must there be heels. The heels are those same notorious characters known to uphold injustice, repression, deception and the like. Take the case of the latest hairbrained suggestion by Mike Defensor that, for the sake of the country, we should now reconcile our fractious society by fielding in a “unity” senatorial ticket! This idiot must take us for idiots. Hoy, gago! It’s just another one of those asinine ideas that betrays the malevolent administration’s paranoia and desperation. The handwriting is on the wall, Mr. Defensor. The opposition will be swept into power! Soon! Take it from the charismatic Trillanes of Magdalo fame who has sent a recent message to former Sen. Gregorio “Gringo” Honasan: “Sir, I promise you, we will be together! Soon!”

    Sovereign touché of the week:

GMA: Let the capture of Honasan and his likes be a message that their days of adventurism are over! They have lost!

The Sovereign: On the contrary! They are winners, bigger than ever! The more you try to crush them, the more invincible they become! For, in the heart of each of these heroes is our own sovereign cardiac beat that counts each passing second that it will take to regain our long-lost freedom! Soon!

I don’t, as a habit patronize door-to-door remittnaces.I know for a fact that it’s a blackmarket system, not monitored or gauged by our banking system(specifically, the BSP).That’s my point!I would rather have my remittance go underground, unmonitored, so as not to allow this illegitmate gov’t. use it for it’s lies and spins for an improving economy. It’s a sacrifice, a necessary evil,a choice bet.2 lesser evils, and I’m sure fellow bloggers you will agree, the bogus one is the more evil, than going underground with our remittances!I call on my fellow OFWs!Magkaisatayo! Though it’s definitely blackmarket, just make sure you know the track-record and that you trust your door-to-door service there. Here in KSA. we have a reliable door-to-door service managed by Pinoys. My apologies for using the term yakker to my fellow bloggers.Yakker din ako,who only yearns to do something concrete,to help bring down an illegitimate and immoral gov’t..Patalsikin na,now na!God bless our country!

  43. Chabeli:

I don’t send remittance to the Philippines except during tax time. I don’t need to because my relatives in the Philippines are mostly self-sufficient and self-reliant. No problem, too, about my mother and siblings in the USA. My sister-in-law in the Philippines live on her pension augmented by the rent she collects on our old house there. And I don’t want to patronize the door-to-door system Filipinos are used to because it is illegal. It is blackmarketing that is definitely discouraged in Japan, because it is not beneficial to the economy. Besides, as a police interpreter, I need to set the example of being obedient to the law.

If I were an OFW, I would not send remittance to the Philippines until the Bansot steps down. It’s a good way of sabotaging her bogus rule.

  46. TonGuE-tWisTeD TonGuE-tWisTeD

Toxic fumes down 20, thousands evacuate Marilao

The Department of Health on Tuesday dispatched a team to investigate the chemical stench that downed at least 20 people and forced 3,000 to evacuate their homes in Marilao, Bulacan.

Health Secretary Francisco Duque told ABS-CBN’s Magandang Umaga Pilipinas that personnel from the DOH Environmental and Occupational Office have been sent to investigate the cause of the toxic fumes. He said a team from the Health Emergency Management Staff is checking the condition of victims rushed to the Sta. Maria District Hospital.

Duque said the DOH is coordinating with the Bureau of Fire Protection and the University of the Philippines’ Poison Center to identify the chemicals that affected residents.

Residents said they were roused by a foul smell from a nearby river in Barangay Sta. Rosa 1 sometime between 1 a.m. and 2 a.m. Tuesday. The residents compared the stench to the smell of liquefied petroleum gas.

Marilao Mayor Epifanio Guillermo said he received reports that a white truck was seen parked near the area early Tuesday.

Fourteen of the victims were identified as Gerald Javier, Jenny Rose Javier, Ricky Javier, Jun Valdez Javier, Margarita Javier, Jennilyn Javier, Jemarie Javier, Joseph Duazon, John Duazon, Fraline Leonodo, Maritess Javier, Sol Israel, Edwin Remodo and Marlene Aguilar.

Doctors said the victims experienced bouts of vomiting but were now out of danger.

On Monday nine people including five teachers were rushed to the hospital after they inhaled chemical fumes following a chemical spill inside a public high school in Makati City.

Superintendent Gilbert Cruz, Makati City police chief, said a hanging cabinet overloaded with bottles containing different chemicals crashed to the floor, causing the chemicals to spill and mix together.

Six teachers and two janitors from the San Isidro National High School were treated for skin and eye irritation at the Ospital ng Makati after bouts of vomiting and skin rashes, Mayor Jejomar Binay said.

I am not usually pessimistic but the fact that the incumbents are very quiet about the line up of their candidates, I can smell something very fishy. Are they trying to cook up something again on the Cha-cha? They may me looking at the retirement of Justice Panganiban as a window of opportunity to resurrect the Cha-cha again. Also, no matter how good we can be in picking our candidates (which is mostly the opposition) if we do not have the same “machinery” and “resources” as the incumbents, they can steal the elections a third time. I wish we will have more opposition vote watchers to ensure cleaner elections. Is there a legitimate way to do this? Have both parties represented in the election booths all the way to the final counting of the last vote.

Anything wrong is wrong.

I don’t dispute and have no doubt that the Japanese are patriotic and nationalist. We only have to recall those Kamikaze pilots. However, their love for country is partly due to their blind obedience to Emperor whom many Japanese still regard as God. Such love for the Emperor and country drove the Japanese to work very hard after the war making it among the most progressive nations in the world today. Sad to say, Filipinos are lacking in many ways and things. There’s still the regional conflicts. We can count on our fingers who the true Filipinos willing to sacrifice and die for the country. Once again, I invite and challenge these people to visit the Philippines…only then can they be a little credible when they return to their adopted countries.

    ——–

At least, naiintindihan mo ang kahalagahan ng mungkahing ito ng mga kasama ko sa movement for better Philippines pati na iyon mga pilipinong nagsuporta sa OAV, stop the sending of remittances to the Philippines until the Bansot is arrested and properly prosecuted for her crimes against the Filipino people!

Paalaala ko sa kanila iyong salita ng Diyos, “Consider the ravens: for they neither sow nor reap; which neither have storehouse nor barn; and God feedeth them: how much more are ye better than the fowls?”

  69. Mrivera Mrivera

ystakei, having served the army instilled in me the love of my country, kaya hindi ko kailanman kinakalimutan kung ano ang nararapat kahit nasa ibang lupain ako. alam kong illegal, bakit pa ako magpapadala sa nag-o-offer ng door-to-door service na fly-by-night means? alam kong talo ako pagpirma pa lang, papauto pa ako? kuha mo?

    Tagalog: Diwang Bayan

original lyrics by Julian Cruz Balmaceda and Ildefonso Santos, 1948

    O sintang lupa,
    Perlas ng Silanganan;
    Diwang apoy kang
    Sa araw nagmula.

    Lupang magiliw
    Pugad ng kagitingan,
    Sa manlulupig
    ‘Di ka papaslang.

    Sa ‘yong langit, simoy, parang
    Dagat at kabundukan,
    Laganap ang tibok ng puso
    Sa paglayang walang hanggang.

    Sagisag ng watawat mong mahal.
    Ningning at tagumpay;
    Araw’t bituin niyang maalab
    Ang s’yang lagi naming tanglaw.

May sariling awit akong tinatapos.
