Latest on Bolante

This is Harry Roque’s latest report on Bolante, whose petition for asylum will be heard today in Chicago. Harry is in Chicago for it:

Bolante impleads no less than the US State Secretary Condoleezza Rice in this petition. To me, this is his tacit understanding that his case is not just an ordinary revocation of a B1B2 visa but involves a more significant reason. The document indicates that Bolante himself is perhaps aware that Presidential Directive No. 212 which denies safe haven in the US to kleptocrats is already being applied against him.

One wonders how Bolante can afford the high-profile law firm that represents him. Yung son and daughter niya ay “undergoing optional practical training following their studies in the United States.”

We are all aware that whoever rubs elbow witht he power-grabbers are on it! Never were they investigated by the BIR nor by the Ombudsman for luxurious lifestyle while in public service.

Imagine them having oodles of monies in foreign banks, while the ordinary Mang Teban works from morn till night para lang mapakain ang mga anak!

Shame on these crooks who feed on the blood of their countrymen!

  3. Ellen:

This administration must be really led by lunatics, and at the moment must be so desperate to get rid of all the elements that can topple it down that it would resort even to try to block access of their critics and protesters to this blog or to real news and not propaganda as in most newspapers with journalists who are under the payroll of the crook who is making Marcos really look a saint!!!

I have received mails even from friends who are lurking in this and other blogs but do not openly participate in the discussion who were unable to access this blog or the newspapers online like Tribune and Malaya but can easily and never have any problem accessing the friendly ones to the bogus administration.

As one who has gotten used to a real democracy like that of Japan’s, I am really amazed and find it incredibly unbelievable how these crooks are allowed to do these abuses, and continue with what they are doing unabated. There must be something really wrong not just with the government but also with the people who can tolerate this bunch of crooks, cheats and liars!

On the other hand, I salute these brave Filipinos who are risking their lives to voice out the sentiments of majority of Filipinos who are not as brave to voice out their sentiments as boldly and fearlessly as what Atty. Roque, et al have taken oath to do for the sake of justice and sanity!!!

Hail to these brave men and women! Ikaw din, Ellen, mabuhay ka! God bless you for what you do for your country and people!

    PATALSIKIN NA, NOW NA!

  4. I’m having a hard time uploading the 26-page petition of Bolante. It’s good that we read it so we can see how “hibang” he is. I’ll try again later.

  5. fencesitter fencesitter

from day one of bolante’s arrest in the US mainland, it was crystal clear he was being held not for his cancelled B1B2 visa. if it was only for the cancelled visa, he could have been shipped back and deported to his port of origin.

while we fret endlessly about the state department’s and US embally’s silence over the issue, we refuse to understand the media gag was intended for them to build up a good case and avoid punching bits of information on their legal move that would enable the high profiled and highly paid immigration lawyers bolante retained to handle his case.

the big amount of bail required of him speaks louder enough he is being held for an offense more serious than entering the US territory with a cancelled visa. the rope of justice is slowly tightening around bolante’s neck coming from his own weight and it would not be long, i am sure, before philippine law catches him to hold him answerable for a grave evil and wrong perpetrated using the poor farmers as a front or cover of an abominable single act of robbery in broad daylight.

  6. fencesitter fencesitter

    correction, second paragraph should read:

while we fret endlessly about the state department’s and US embassy’s silence over the issue, we refuse to understand the media gag was a pure legal strategy intended for them to build up a good case and avoid punching bits of information on their legal move that would enable the high profiled and highly paid immigration lawyers, bolante retained to handle his case, craft or prepare their defense in advance.

my own assessment is atty. roque and the US based counsel atty. croft is doing well so far. i would like to believe that getting bolante back is just a matter of time.

  7. myrna myrna

Ellen, thank you for that copy of the petition which I was able to download successfully.

Hanep din naman mga allegations ni Bolante. Okay, granting sabi niya, he has no intention of staying permanently in U.S., only for 10-45 days, so how come now he is seeking asylum? Saka, paano siya ma-inform ng US Embassy na cancelled or revoked ang kanyang visa kung baga, eh panay tago niya?

Hindi daw kailangan mag appear sa Senate dahil yung summons eh hindi issued ng court which is a body not biased or partial? hahahah. very funny.

I really hope Atty Roque would do his best to oppose this petition. Ilahad na ang dapat ilahad!!!!

  8. But what can you say to this report in the Inquirer by Gil Cabacungan from Brussels:

Malacañang is planning to file a diplomatic protest on Washington’s cancellation of former Agriculture Undersecretary Jocelyn “Jocjoc” Bolante’s US visa, Foreign Secretary Alberto Romulo said yesterday.

Romulo said this was the advice of Senate Foreign Relations Committee chair Miriam Defensor-santiago who claimed that Bolante’s case was a clear breach of protocol.

  9. myrna myrna

For what? Dahil sa mga kagagawan niyang milagro for the benefit of the fake president with her husband?

Ito namang si Miriam Santiago, tililing talaga. Pardon me, but that is the only description that comes to my mind.

He is not living up to the standard of integrity of Carlos Romulo, the great statesman.

This is the best time for us to encourage Atty Roque and the like to keep on doing what they are doing. They are the voice of the people who really want transparency in governance.

  10. “Malacañang is planning to file a diplomatic protest on Washington’s cancellation of former Agriculture Undersecretary Jocelyn “Jocjoc” Bolante’s US visa, Foreign Secretary Alberto Romulo said yesterday.

okey, things are now getting more interesting.

  11. myrna myrna

    Breach of protocol daw????!!! Pweh!

  12. Ellen:

The US is not under the Philippines, and is a sovereign country. It is the US government’s prerogative to cancel or grant special requests for visas especially against one who has a pending case of kleptocracy in his country.

For all that Dubya Bush is, one thing sure is that the USA that is composed of more than 50 states still adheres to the rule of law unlike the Philippines. So, it is all blah-blah and I doubt if the crooks will have the nerve to really file such “basura” anywhere in the USA.

Gosh, iyan ang tinatawag na “Birds of the same feather flock together!”

Ugh! 😡

  14. Myrna:

Tama ka. So far, I was right in what I have written on this topic of Bolate. What the Malacanang is doing actually with all these palabas is show that the Tsunano is most favored by Uncle Sam as personified by her fellow inutile, Dubya Bush.

Don’t get me wrong. My folks in the US are traditionally Republicans, and so are majority of members of our church based in Utah (not the polygamists, though), but I don’t like the Bushes because I know they live on guns and oil that they covet from the Iraqis, etc.

You’re right. The more the Tsunano tries to cover up all the sins of her administration committed by her, her husband, their appointees, the Congressmen and Senators they financed with people’s taxes, donations from legitimate organizations especially for natural calamities and/or tongs from gambling lords—I remember an aide of Erap in fact briefing me before Erap was toppled down about the funds from jueteng lords that have become a tradition of the Malacanang occupants since time immemorial as a matter of fact despite efforts to ban the said number game—to win and be sure they have the number to protect her welfare and interests regardless of the millions she is victimizing in the process, the more she pushes herself in the mire (kumonoy)!

So, let’s pray for more blunders to be committed in the name of Just-Tiis but the Ale Boba and her minions, and let her infuriate the Americans, who definitely will not take an insult from a small kuto!!!

Ellen, I cannot download the file above, but I do pray and believe that Atty. Roque will be able to get good response from the US government especially with the help of his fellow lawyers there.

Chance na rin ni Senator Magsaysay to move fast on prosecuting the Bolate even in the US. Puede namang magtayo sila ng make-shift court there that can be granted by the US government especially with the help of his US counterparts. I know one or two Senators in the US as a matter of fact. one Republican and one Democrat. The Republican is a prominent member of our church as a matter of fact.

Will send a back-up petition paper from Japan signed by as many Filipinos we can ask to sign it. We will send it to the US government via the US embassy in Japan.

FOR THE PHILIPPINES, PATALSIKIN NA, NOW NA!

😳 from my posting in the topic “Iraq and Philippines compared” message # 148 …

headline from Radio Free Europe …

IRANIAN LEADER SAYS IRAQ SAFER WITHOUT U.S. TROOPS

13 September 2006 — Iran’s Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei today told Iraqi Prime Minister Nuri al-Maliki that one way of helping to restore stability in Iraq would be for the U.S.-led military coalition to pull out of the country.

“Once foreign forces leave Iraq, many of its problems will be solved,” Khamenei said to al-Maliki, who is on a two-day visit to Iran.

Al-Maliki on September 12 met with Iranian President Mahmud Ahmadinejad, who pledged to help Iraq remain “united and independent.”

In echoing remarks, Khamenei said he hoped the day would come “when the Iraqi nation reaches the status it deserves.”

U.S. officials have accused Iran of fostering chaos among Iraq’s Shi’ite majority.

Tehran has rejected the charge. It has in turn said the U.S. military presence in Iraq is fueling instability in the Middle East.

Meanwhile, Iranian President Mahmud Ahmadinejad has arrived in Senegal, the first leg of a world tour that will also take him to Cuba, Venezuela, and New York.

The Iranian leader is expected to spend only a few hours in Dakar for talks with his Senegalese counterpart, Abdoulaye Wade.

He will leave Dakar on September 14 and fly to Cuba, where he is due to attend a summit of Nonaligned Movement leaders. He will then go to Venezuela.

Ahmadinejad also is scheduled to address the 61st General Assembly of the United Nations on September 19.

Bolante clearly is running out of options. Kapit sa patalim na ang mokong. Soon, he’ll have to face the music and so does his master. The pandak has no bargaining chips and Bush cannot simply give in to the dwarf’s wishes. PD 212 really works much to the dismay of the prentending president.

Who is in Canada that I forgot? Is it Vic? There was a shooting at one school in Montreal with lots of injured students. Canada is becoming a violent country now. Pretty soon, she would be no different from the US.

  19. Ellen:

Latest news from Inquirer is that Bolate’s petition for bail was denied. Of course, it would be denied because he is high risk. He is likely to escape and overstay and that will be against the very reason why he is being detained—no visa entry to the US because it was cancelled.

He should have contented himself with being deported on the sport (A to A) which is the usual procedure in such cases. But the bogus government had to make sure that he could not be returned to the Philippines and spill out the beans.

At least, this proves that the US is not like the Philippines where the head of the state does not become totally the USA or do his thing like an indisputable monarch. In the Philippines, they even allow a bogus president to act as if she owns the Philippines and has every right to squander even the loans and donations for disasters and calamities in the Philippines, etc.

Thanks to Atty. Roque, et al for the prompt action. I bet some people at the US Embassy are reading comments in this blog, comments that actually represent the sentiments of majority of the Filipino people, not the highly paid crooks calling themselves officials of the Philippines especially in the Philippine Congress or Senate led by nearing dementia like JdV and Brenda.

Brenda must be having insomnia and nightmares kaya nasisiraan na! I told you, manduduro lang ang mga iyan. Blah-blah-blah pero walang ibubuga!

npongco, I had noted in my previuos comment in reply to you about the crime rates in major Canadian cities is just as bad as in the U.S. major cities. The incident in Montreal was an action of one gunman, who had, (as reflected in his online entries) hatred towards society and authorities and wish to live and die fast in a hail of bullets. He got his wish at the hand of a plice officer at the scene, but after it was over a woman was slain and 19 injured. In a society where firearms are available to anyone either legally or illegally and can be bought from smugglers from accross the border, we are not surprised that this could happened. I made an entry of this incident in my site if you care to peruse some more http://truenorthandme.blogspot.com/ . But we are quite brave enough to face up to this problem, and we are rready to accept limitations to our rights if necessary if it means we can minimize these senseless violence. Eliminate, no free society can, that we know, but I assure you we are still much, much safer than most U.S. cities and I have been livng here for more than 30 years now and the security to my person has not been any safer. That from my very own obervation as a whole and an incident like this, violent as it is does not reflect our society in its entirety.. thanks

  21. vic vic

    Npongco,

I believe in one of my comment I noted that in major cities, crime rates are quite high , but in comparison to the US, we are still far behind. The incident in Montreal, violent as it was is an action of a lone gunman, who at this time we don’t know what caused him to do what he did. Luckily according to Montreal Police he was stopped from continuing his killing spree from the bullet from one of the officers at the scene. For sure there will be debates, inquiries and laws to follow, and we are always ready to accept more limitation to our rights if it means to make our schools and street safer. We can minimize violence, but eliminate, you and I know it is impossible in a society where freedoms is balance with security. In this country we have unlimited access to firearms and although there is a very strict conditions for having them, the U.S. is just minutes drive and smugglers can bring in weapons for profit and there will be always criminal and psychopaths in every society. And some people can snap anytime and lost control of their faculties and with available means (guns, cars or any weapons) can cause enormous damage to others. I made an entry of this incident in my site and you may peruse if you wish http://truenorthandme.blogspot.com/ . Thanks again for the query and sorry for the late reply..busy busy..

  22. Talagang itong si Gloria Labandera desperado na. Ipinapakita na talaga ang kawalanghiyaan. Imagine protesting and demanding explanation for the refusal of another country to allow a kleptocrat to enter the US.

Now is the time for the B&W movement for example to demand for the removal of this bogus president for embarrassing the whole Filipinos trying hard to protect a fugitive from the law. Mag-submit-an na ng petition even to support this move by the US to uphold its rule of law refusing to grant a wannabe TNT to be bailed out, and send the fugitive back to the Philippines to take legal responsibility for stealing public funds especially intended for the poor farmers of the Philippines.

And if nothing is done when this crook is returned to the Philippines, it will be more than enough exposure of what kind of bogus government the Philippines have, manned by wannabe criminals who cannot be caught for making sure they have their friends in strategic position to protect their interests. Nakakahiya!!! Presidente (kuno) ng Pilipinas, patron of criminals!!!! Pwe!

  23. vic vic

npongo, I have been trying to reply but i cn’t get in. somthing wrong with my p.c. or whatever and I don’t know a thing technically to fix it. anyways, the shooting in montreal is an incident that could happened in any major city in north america. With unlimited access to firearms, and easy acces from smuggled firearms from accross the border and the culture that’s invading our youth today, it’s only a matter of time that we will be as violent as in the U.S., unless after we are thru grieving for the young woman slain, and praying for the 19 others injured, we face to our problem and come together and come up with concrete ideas and solutions to minimize such incident. eliminate, we can not in a open and free society, freedoms and safety and security are balanced and there is just no way that violence can be elimated at all. there will always be psycopaths and suicidal people who will resort to violence and that you and I know. thanks and i hope this one will get in.

  24. Wow, matapang kunong mag-protest si Tsunano, and I bet you this bogus president must be knocking on China’s door to help her VS Giant USA. Akala niya matatakot niya ang mga kano? Manigas siya!

Hopefully, Dubya Bush will not do a preemptive attack on the Philippines as he has threatened putting the Philippines among the countries in his Axis of Evil because of the Al Qaeda cells (daw) in the Philippines reported by the liar.

With this development, she’s probably wondering if she will return to the Philippines or make an excuse to stay at SFO by pulsing the present development in the Philippines even with Esperon there promising to oversee hers and the interests of these generals serving her and her husband.

  25. Diego K. Guerrero Diego K. Guerrero

Malacanang Palace plan to file a diplomatic protest about fugitive Joc-Joc Bolante arrest in the U.S. is a bluff or suntok sa buwan. The Arroyo government has zero credibility in the community of nations. It’s known for its double speaks and flip-flopping. Malacanang can file dozens of diplomatic protests to United States and I’m sure it will be junked to waste basket. Sen. Miriam Brenda Santiago has runs-out of gimmicks and dirty tricks to cover-up Joc-Joc Bolante’s crime against the Filipino people. Brenda Santiago is the chairman of the committee on foreign relations. Diplomatic protest has no bearing with the U.S. policy on “no safe haven for kleptocrats“. U.S. State Secretary Condoleezza Rice is getting to use Gloria Arroyo’s mischievous act. The U.S. State Department can not be fooled by Pandak’s diplomatic antics.

Why GMA backtracked for the ratification of the Rome Statute of the International Criminal Court (ICC)? It has been sitting on for more three years and deliberately delaying its transmittal to the senate for ratification. It appears that bogus President Gloria Arroyo cannot afford to defy Uncle Sam. GMA needs U.S. financial and military aid to save her bankrupt government. She is also scared to be ousted by the C.I.A. and local allies. The United States threatened to invoke a bilateral immunity agreement between the two countries that could lead to the cancellation of military aid to the Philippines. Gloria Arroyo doesn’t want the ICC treaty ratified because she is liable to be tried as a war criminal. Arroyo and her fascist security forces are held responsible for hundreds of political killings and abductions. The ICC was set up by the United Nations to investigate and prosecute “the most serious and heinous crimes against humanity, war crimes and crimes of aggression.” The U.S. sponsored all-out war against the leftist elements and Arroyo critics resulted to extra-judicial killings and abductions. In case Gloria Arroyo and her cohorts are convicted and guilty for war crimes I want to see them executed by firing squad. AMEN

  28. Dear All:

So, someone must have told the Boba that and was convincec that she would be advantaged by any plan to save Bolate.

  29. This should read: Mabibisto pa ngayon ang anomalyang kasangkot sila sa totoo lang! So, someone must have told the Boba that, and was CONVINCED that she would be DISADVANTAGED by any plan to save Bolate.

In short, they must be really peeing in their pants as to what to do now because either way, they cannot now evade the law except to fortify their positions in the Philippine courts dominated by their friends and/or the military and the police with their appointees there whose hands they have to keep now more greased! 😛

What a shame! This Ale Boba has to go. She has done much worse than any crook in Philippine political history. She has made the Philippines look like a pig’s pen with everyone smelling like those swines she has conveniently placed to keep her squatting forever in the palace by the murky river!

Posible.

  31. Ellen:

Bolate’s lawyer should not be too presumptuous. Iyong salita nilang, “Bolate might disappear forever” may turn out to be prophetic—ililigpit siya ng mga kasabwat niya pagbalik niya para hindi siya makapagsalita!!! How grim!

Reminds me of Dacer. Two years before his disappearance, I met this dandy man in Tokyo. Someone gave him my name and he asked me to meet him. I did and we had a nice talk. I found him to be a real gentleman.

When I heard about his disappearance, I knew it was not Erap who is involved in it, but the people who are saying how he died but will not dare pinpoint where they have buried him and his companion. In short, huli na sa bibig. And all for the sake of putting a crook in the palace by the murky river.

Please, huwag nang paloloko sa mga sinungaling! Si Bolate should never be trusted.
