The military is bringing the battle for the Filipino people’s hearts and minds into cyberspace.

Last week, the Sundalo website debuted in cyberspace (www.sundalo.bravehost.com). The site’s title is “Sundalo:Tagapagtaggol (sic) ng Pilipino”.

Neri Colmenares, Codal convenor and spokesperson and Tonyo Cruz,media officer of Counsel for the Defense of Liberties bring to the public’s attention another disturbing trend as documented in FROM FACTS TO ACTION,(click here) a report of the International Fact-Finding Mission on Attacks Against Filipino Lawyers which was undertaken by the Dutch Lawyers for Lawyers Foundation and with the participation of Lawyers Without Borders and the International Association of Democratic Lawyers.

FROM FACTS TO ACTION documents the fact-finding mission’s attempt to
gather information on the murders of legal professionals in the
Philippines.

To date, 10 judges and 15 lawyers (including a law student) have been
slain since 2001. Many of them were human rights lawyers and public
interest barristers.

Anti-crime crusader Tessie Ang-See was angry when I saw her on TV last Wednesday.

Ang-See, spokesperson for Citizens Against Crime, finds it incomprehensible that Judge Agnes Reyes-Carpio didn’t see the role of actor and former Quezon City representative Dennis Roldan (real name: Mitchell Y. Gumabao) as mastermind in the kidnapping of three-year old Kenshi Yu last year, in her decision the other day to grant bail to him.

Kidnap for ransom is a heinous crime and is supposed to be non-bailable but Roldan walked out from his detention cell yesterday after posting a P500,000 bail bond.

Ang asylum ay binibigay ng isang bayan sa national ng ibang bansa na namimiligro ang buhay sa kanyang bansa dahil sa kalupitan ng ginagawa sa kanya.

Dapat matuwa ang NPA at epektibo pala sila sa mga taong nang-abuso ng kanilang kapangyarihan nang sila ay nasa poder. Si Bolante ay nakaharap sa imbestigasyon ng Senado tungkol sa sobra P3 bilyon na pera para sa magsasaka na kanyang ginamit para sa kampanya ni Gloria Arroyo noong 2004. Kasama doon ang P728 milyon na pambili ng abono ng mga mahirap na magsasaka.
