AN UNFINISHED BUSINESS: Biazon bares pro-gov’t bombing plot
“SEN. Rodolfo Biazon yesterday raised suspicions that groups identified with the administration were going to stage bombings in Metro Manila.
Biazon, chairman of the Senate committee on defense and national security, said he has received information that soldiers received orders to bring explosives, particularly C4, to Metro Manila, but the purpose was unclear.
Sources said 36 groups made up of soldiers were formed before the celebration of the 20th anniversary of People Power 1. The sources said it was not clear what the mission of the groups, which were placed on standby nationwide, was.
The group was on its way to Metro Manila when they learned they were being hunted down and ordered shot on sight, Biazon said.”
More on this here… http://www.malaya.com.ph/mar04/news3.htm
Who can the people believe now? Politicians
regardless of backgrounds have their own
selfish agenda. Let’s re-think what Biazon
have been dishing out to the public as
information, what he had admitted he
received before and came out with the
information later when it suited him
and not the country.
What do we do in rotten situation like
before, during and after the lifting of
proc1017? So much and too much blah blah
and yaking and yaking comes out from the
mouth of politicians pretending to care
to do something. What happened after
Magsaysay’s yakking in the senate? What
happened after the hot air of defending
human rights and protecting freedom of
the press.
“GMA resign” Yellow bands
i’ve got an idea to show our opposition to arroyo in a non-violent way (and make money at the same time)
Black-and-White Movement and other blogs can advertise and sell it at their site.
Why not make and sell GMA resign Yellow bracelet/bands (like this one).
Not only is this pretty much a non-violent way to protest the arroyo admin, but you’d look cool wearing it too (and i’m pretty sure the guy selling this would make tons of dough) 🙂
Ito pa: Bracelet mania: Armstrong’s yellow wrist bands have become cultural phenomenon
Here’s are photos of the LiveStrong bracelets.
Of course, kapag nalaman ito ni Arroyo, I wouldn’t put it past her to order the police to conduct raids on the factory (or hire a few thugs to break inside the factory) making these Yellow bands and steal their merchandise. LOL. I wouldn’t be surprised if she’d stoop this low, LOL.
Gloria said: :I am the best to lead this country.” Because she knows the opposition – like his coalition of thugs and retardates– is rotten to the core and nobody even in her own party can be trusted to continue the criminal rottenness of politics in this country. She challenges everyone to name a better leader, even a second rate replacement thinking everybody cheated and the people cheaply bought anyway, no name is forthcoming. I beg to disagree, I know and many people also know a person of integrity and honesty, of loyalty to his country and of excellence in his chosen profession, of an upright family. READ WHAT HE JUST WROTE (not for the money) IN HIS COLUMN:
“Her accompanying General Order No. 5 authorizes the military and the police to take “necessary and appropriate actions and measures to prevent and suppress acts of terrorism,” including, as her minions assert, the examination of the editorial policies and motivations of the mass media and their suppression if found by them (i.e., the minions) to be inimical to their commander in chief.
This is censorship pure and simple, an indefensible assault on the paramount freedom of expression recognized and safeguarded by the Bill of Rights. It is this right “to know, to utter, and to argue freely, according to conscience, above all liberties” that the Arroyo administration would violate on the shabby pretext of protecting the national security.”
More of his piece later.
retired justice cruz (surname symbolic of
the Filipino) further wrote with a blast
of canon fire:
“Freedom of expression is usually the first casualty of a repressive regime, as when the Japanese forces immediately took over the newspapers and radio stations upon their occupation of Manila in 1942. This freedom was also the first to be shackled when Marcos announced his New Society in 1972 through the television and radio stations he had earlier placed under his control. The other stations had already been muzzled “through the barrel of the gun.”
Freedom of expression is essential to the full and free information of the people. In sustaining the publication of the Pentagon Papers over the objection of the US government on the ground of national security, Justice Black said, “The press was protected so that it could bare the secrets of the government and inform the people.” Justice Sutherland had earlier declared in another case, “A free press stands as one of the great interpreters between the government and the people. To allow it to be fettered is to fetter ourselves.”
Ret Justice Cruz was using a back hoe to
remove the dirt ande dung gloria and her
gravediggers used to bury our freedom of
speech:
“It is wrong to even suggest that freedom of expression exists only for those who agree with the government. That would make this freedom more shadow than substance. The enlightened view is that the ideas protected by this most precious of liberties include those that induce “a condition of unrest, creates dissatisfaction with conditions as they are, or even stirs people to anger.”
A function of free speech, according to the US Supreme Court, is “to invite dispute.” Justice Douglas said, “The right to speak freely and to promote diversity of ideas and programs is therefore one of the chief distinctions that set us apart from totalitarian regimes.”
To be truly meaningful, freedom of expression should permit the ventilation of all ideas, the popular as well as the unorthodox and even the bizarre, as long only as they do not exceed the reasonable limitations of the law. Libelers and seditionists deserve to be punished, but not those who, using the word as their sword, peacefully protest the evils of government and call for its reform. As Rizal did, even at the cost of his life.”
I thought UNITY is cheap price in payment for the loss of freedom of expression, or the obverse rephrased: The loss of freedom of expression is too high a price to pay for unity, but justice Cruz said:
“Unity is too high a price for the loss of freedom of expression. Justice Holmes put it aptly when he said that this liberty exists not so much for the thought that agrees with us as for the thought that we detest.
Justice Brandeis said, “Fear of serious injury cannot justify the suppression of free speech and assembly. It is the function of speech to free men from the bondage of irrational fears… Those who won our freedom by revolution were not cowards. They did not fear political change. They did not exalt order at the cost of liberty.” Voltaire, another disciple of freedom, was grandiloquent: “I may not agree with what you say, but I will defend to the death your right to say it.”
The persons quoted here were passionate lovers and defenders of liberty. At this time and place, they could be arrested without warrant under Ms Arroyo’s Proclamation No. 1017 as destabilizers of her government. They would be good and welcome company to the editorial staff of the Inquirer.”
I will also add the entire staff of the Daily Tribune. I have not resumed reading PDI’s editorials. I thought then (before proc 1017) the contents were subliminal shit.
I am no longer trying to be funny Madam a de brux.
AS A CONSEQUENCE OF PROC 1017:
Everybody and that includes NINEZ must be
forewarned: IF YOU HURT THE FEELINGS OF
OTHERS YOU CAN BE ARRESTED WITHOUT A
WARRANT OF ARREST.
DITTO FOR ALL NUMBER ONES, DON’T HURT THE FEELINGS OF NUMBER TWO, YOU CAN BE ARRESTED AND YOUR HUBBY MIGHT BE FORCED TO VOTE AGAINST IMPEACHMENT TO SECURE YOUR RELEASE.
ONLY THE DUMDBEST OR DUMBWORST OF FOOLS
WILL BELIEVE THAT THE LIFTING
PROC 1017 WILL STOP THE
MISIMPLEMENTATION OF IT’S
NON-APPURTENANT PROVISIONS.
Jay,
Don’t think I’m taking you lightly at all. What you have been saying is true and I, like many people in Pinas, believe that you are right.
Keep up the good work!
Here’s some suggestions from MBuencamino and MLQ3 “to strike peacefully”:
1. manuelbuencamino wrote on March 5th, 2006 at 1:19 pm
use the name Jose Pidal or Garci or JocJoc Bolante at any place where your name has to be announced. I’ve used Pidal in several crowded Starbucks and it’s fun. You can also use those names in places where a public address system is used. Ex. “Paging driver of Jose Pidal” just make sure ou inform your driver before hand. What if you don’t have a driver? Better yet because the paging will go on forever. Just stand there looking pissed.
2. mlq3 wrote on March 5th, 2006 at 1:42 pm
and sign into security guard log books as Jose Pidal when you visit offices!
My own suggestion: wear pins saying “I’m looking for Jose Pidal” and “I”m looking for Joc-Joc Bolante”

Filipinos in Japan March in Tokyo, Call for GMA’s Ouster!
Chanting anti-government slogans, and calling the incumbent, Gloria M. Arroyo, “nisemono no daitoryo, dorobo” (fake president, thief), around 70 migrant Filipinos and their Japanese supporters marched through Shibuya, Tokyo’s business district, to condemn rampant violation of human rights in the Philippines, and to demand the immediate ouster of President Gloria Macapagal-Arroyo.
Led by three of the biggest Filipino organizations in Japan, namely the Kalipunan ng mga Filipinong Nagkakaisa (KAFIN), Philippine Women’s League of Japan (PWLJ), and Filipina Circle for Advancement and Progress (FICAP), and Migrante – Japan, the group first stopped at the Philippine Embassy in Tokyo where they gave embassy officials a joint letter to protest President Arroyo’s recent acts of violence and terrorism against Filipinos demanding her immediate ouster.
Bearing anti-Arroyo streamers and placards, the group chanted anti-Arroyo slogans, and spoke against the ills and crimes of her government at the main entrance of the embassy where a throng of Filipinos are lined up for the usual Sunday consular services. Also, the group demanded the immediate and unconditional release of Rep. Crispin Beltran who was charged by the Arroyo government of inciting to sedition based on a two-decades-old arrest warrant, and to denounce threats by Mrs. Arroyo herself to ran after and punish “destabilizers” and coup plotters which the group say bare similarities to Marcos’ own brand of terrorism during the Martial Law years.
Then, the group massed up at Ebisu Park where they held a media conference before proceeding with their symbolic march through Shibuya District. Accosted by some 30 police and civilian agents, the marchers braved the erratic cold winter weather in Tokyo, again chanting anti-Arroyo slogans while displaying colorful placards bearing GMA wa Hantai! (OUST GMA NOW!), NEVER AGAIN TO MARTIAL LAW!, and Respect Human Rights and Civil Liberties in the Philippines!, among many others. Heading the contingent was a life-sized effigy of one of Arroyo’s human rights victims cuddled by a woman clad in a traditional Filipina dress bearing colors of the Philippine flag, and a black veil to represent “Inang Bayan” (mother country). While marching, the protestors also demanded the Japanese government to withdraw support and STOP aid to the Arroyo government which they said is being used to kill Filipinos instead of uplifting their lives. The march lasted for about an hour, and ended at the crowded Shibuya Train Station where the group for the last time chanted anti-Arroyo slogans in Tagalog, English and Japanese.
The day-long protest action was the first in Tokyo, and the entire Japan for that matter, in a long time. The group vows to unite other Filipinos in Japan to hold more protest actions until President Arroyo is ousted from her fake presidency.
Other Filipino groups worldwide vow to follow suit. Emulating the examples of Filipinos in Japan, OFW groups the world over are sending feelers to governments where they reside to withdraw support and pressure the incumbent to resign.
Filipinos in Japan, backed up by Japanese political lobbyists are scheduled to have a series of talks and meetings with officials of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in charge of Japan’s ODA, and members of the Japanese Diet to pressure the incumbent to resign, stop harrassing and intimidating her political opponents and critics, and guaranty all basic rights and freedoms as prescribed by the laws of the Philippines.
Von Jovi, your suggestion is noted. One of these days, I ‘ll do it. In fact, i’ve done that a few times in the past.
I like the suggestion of Manuel Buencamino and Manolo about using those detestable names in public places. I think I’ll use the name of the root cause of our problem:Gloria Arrovo or Gloria Pidal

Ngayon na sinabi ng Supreme Court na unconstiutional ang 1017, paano ang naging biktima nito? Di ba dapat panagutan ng pasimuno nito?
